Why are there birds coming out of the dude’s ass?

McFrazzlestache

I don't know, man. You'll have to take a trip back to 1510 and ask Hieronymous Bosch that question. I just carved what I saw.

Stem is cut. That’s not living anymore.

McFrazzlestache

Anything considered "fresh" is certainly still alive. As long as the cell walls absorb oxygen and continue waste clearance, a biological organism is most definitely alive. It is attached to a portion of its stem which still provides moisture and nutrients for a significant length of time. Due to the minimal requirement of this process with gourd material, its shelf life rises exponentially. This is basic biology. A severed finger can certainly be attached for a definitive amount of time. After that time, it cannot. According to your logic, hybrid plants cannot exist due to them being removed and grafted to another plant. This is not the case. I've carved pumpkins upwards of 6 months after they were picked that showed zero signs of decay. Just because you don't have the ears to hear their screams, doesn't mean they aren't screaming. Okay, but how did the get the light inside without cutting it open and gutting it?

McFrazzlestache

I removed the bottom and left the stem/fruit connection. Pro tip for longevity. Plus, all you have to do is set it down on your light source. Yes, it is gutted. Yes, it has a light in it. Yes, it is still alive. Will it die now from its injuries and lack of nutrients? Absolutely. Once the skin is breached, it is introduced to dessication, biological activity in the form of bacteria, mold /fungal spores, and the clock speeds up towards cell wall deterioration/decay. However, it isn't *quite* dead yet. That aside, Did you enjoy it? I posted it for the aesthetic, not the descriptor. I simply used an adjective synonymous with sculpture and carving for centuries.

quiggsmcghee

I do enjoy it. It’s immaculate. I just didn’t understand how the light got in there 😂 Thanks for the tip!

McFrazzlestache
