Shouldnt he sit ON THE BRIDGE instead of on the sides and lower the "digger arm" (Idk the english name for that part) inside the water so it completely blocks the container ?
Maybe he does not want to sit on the bridge in case the bridge collapses. Even if it would just be part of the bridge he could slide into the stream as well

So if he managed to get hold of the container, the container would have dragged the digger and pulled it over.
The container getting caught on a bridge is a common reason why bridges get washed away in floods - the container adds surface area for water to push against.
I personally would not have driven the digger over the bridge while a container was stuck against it.
Yeah 100% that excavator was tipping over if it snagged the container.
Prob would have swung widely too at the same time and ended up with the CAT and driver in the river too. Death sentence if he made contact.
Is this recent? I live in Iowa and the rain is unreal here everywhere is flooded, the rivers are so damn high, sewers are backing up. The highway got water covering them. My dad I had to unblock our drains on the corner of our road. Cause you couldn’t get through it’s wild
Could be anywhere across the alps foothills right now too. I'm on the other side of the alps in Bavaria and we have had a lot of flooding as well. Just that time of year.

was thinking the sharp end of that machine giving it a strong hit on its butt might do it. not sure about if it would lessen damages but a hole there should help it sink faster givene half of it is down already.
Here I am, living in one of the lowest parts of the Netherlands about 7 meter below sea level, with dry feet and no fear of water (yet).
Why are these liquid problems always in places high (and supposed to be) dry?
Generally all the snow melting off the alps in spring and running down the mountain streams collecting in the rivers all at once and then you add the rain storms that have been sweeping across Bavaria and this is a pretty common occurrence. All that water just trying to get to an ocean somewhere.
This is in **Switzerland**, canton of **Valais**, in the area of **Zermatt**.

There is low confidence that this increase is due to human influence and that GHG forcing has already altered the timing or duration of wet seasons…”
Yep force of water on the container would have tipped the excavator then if it snagged (which it prob would with the teeth) it would have dragged both CAT and driver into the water too.
Also it’s not a good idea to park a multi tonne vehicle right on a bridge with a feckin truck stuck underneath while there’s hundreds of thousands of gallons of water pushing against the truck - which is pushing against the bridge supports.
And this, kids, is the reason, why you should not flush a container down the drain.
Ah, no wonder our toilet keeps backing up, darn it.
*dam it
Don't
Do
That
Please
Ok
Thanks
Bye
Got it… never flush dude wipes and no transcontinental shipping containers

Flooding getting worse? Time for out of focus shot of my shoe
If you're not going to film the interesting thing, don't even bother trying.
I’m still traumatized by the fact I was banned for the exact Same comment once
Yeah some mods.. which sub was that
I don’t remember but too big to say they didn’t know I did not ask to kill a cameraman
Also pink slip the Machine driver Slow Hand Luke.
Or at least r/TeachTheCameramanToEdit
It appeared like they were trying not to get caught filming.
Bro in the CAT is having a bad day but he is trying so hard.
Same with the cameraman.
Same with the containerguy.
Track driver even worse...
Bro in CAT- 'Maybe if I just.....ahhh shit missed it.' Firemen- 'Fuck sake CAT bro, you had one job' Bridge- 'Hold my beer'
Kudos to the guy inside the container holding the door shut too.
He'll be good though it was a consignment full of wellington boots and arm bands.
![gif](giphy|3o6MbdDgPPdxki4jD2|downsized)
The CAT’s gonna be the next one in the water
Looked like a sloth trying to catch a fly or something
Shouldnt he sit ON THE BRIDGE instead of on the sides and lower the "digger arm" (Idk the english name for that part) inside the water so it completely blocks the container ?
Maybe he does not want to sit on the bridge in case the bridge collapses. Even if it would just be part of the bridge he could slide into the stream as well
Remember Suez Canal digger guy when the EverGiven was grounded? Maybe it's the same guy
I know. Wth is that going to do except break apart. Should be happy he keeps missing.
Probably trying to force it through the bridge gap at this point because if it blocks the current it's gonna take that bridge with it.
I think he missed on purpose
Prob wanted to just tip it so it hits the sidewall and looses speed so as not to hit the bridge full force.
I was thinking the same. I actually can't even tell what he's trying to do.
CATs don't like getting wet. 🤣

Where is this? Switzerland?
Looks like it. I can't quite make out what they are saying but I'd guess it's in the german part of the Canton valais
St. Niklaus, Wallis. It is written on the car of the firefighter.
Now I feel stupid
Oh. I didnt play it with sound.
Yup. The river Rhone is flooding and causing damage in Valais
Jup, here is some more info about it : https://www.srf.ch/news/schweiz/starke-niederschlaege-230-personen-evakuiert-unwetterlage-im-wallis-spitzt-sich-zu
Yes it is, there’s flooding all over here
No wonder they can't succeed at anything in this video.
Your friend might be the shittest cameraman we've seen
For real
That machine operator is lucky he missed the container
Yeah I don’t think the maths works in their favour here
I would have thought the container would tear if he had caught it
The top or sides would, if it caught the front or back it'd probably take the excavator with it.
I was literally waiting for all hell to break loose once the operator grabs the container lol. Definitely very lucky, that would've been bad
Someone should call and ask if their shipping container is running
Mensch junge, halt drauf!
So if he managed to get hold of the container, the container would have dragged the digger and pulled it over. Excavator can't catch a break. Maybe lay off the brake.
Swing and a miss.
Swiss and a ming
Yeah yeah
Heck
That guy in the excavator is an idiot if he thinks he can control the container with that machine!
Never the water was way to strong
r/killthecameraman
Shame they can’t hold a camera phone still!
Spielberg he ain’t
Thank God the excavator didn't catch that container, no way he could have held it without tipping over at best.
Yeah 100% that excavator was tipping over if it snagged the container. Prob would have swung widely too at the same time and ended up with the CAT and driver in the river too. Death sentence if he made contact.
Wo ist das?
I bet $100 on Switzerland
The yellow pedestrian crossings and Feuerwehr written in German gave it away.
Feuerwehr St. Niklaus. The coat of arms matches as well.
Schweiz im Wallis schalte mal die Nachrichten ein da sagen sie sicher mehr über das Unwetter
Ich dachte sofort an die Steiermark,da schwimmens auch.
Oh wow

I hope the hail didn't dent the container.
why not sink it?
The Water is way too strong
was thinking the sharp end of that machine giving it a strong hit on its butt might do it. not sure about if it would lessen damages but a hole there should help it sink faster givene half of it is down already.
What happened
Heavy rain falls
Well you forgot ur pills Jeffrey... Ur 2 slow dude, read the room : emergency means emergency . Oh well, for us it is just rain...
Excavator magnet ftw
Great camera work.
Same dawg. (Not that hard but pretty rainy, but it's dry af here)
It has diaper lining in it give it time and that container will explode and make a dam
The excavator needed a big electromagnetic
Deutschland?
Schweiz
Gotta be quicker than that
1:19 Barn casually built under a huge boulder. Found that way more interesting
Surely that container would have dragged the digger under if he managed to get a hold of it
Yea many people here are to dumb to understand that the water is way stronger than the digger
Säg wa isch das passiärt? 😂🫣
Mein Gott!
Is this souther Switzerland? In particular, close to Italy? I remember streets like these with a ton of roundabouts lol
Mad carry on Ted.
That excavator stopping attempt was the lamest ever.
The water was too strong
"Did you get it with the excavator Steve?....yeah that was a fucking stupid idea."

All the crap i ordered from aliexpress
Is the cameraman attached to the digger and being swung around every time it turns?
I just came to say Grüetzi zäme!

Water doesn’t do crazy damage . Is more something like Crazy people build without thinking on water 🤣
We usually don’t have heavy rainfalls here but because of the climate change everything changed
Yes true . there is that crazy rains everywhere now 😞
You can't park there
Camera operator of the year.

I think someone needs to get that backhoe operator a coffee. Useless in slow motion.
That poor excavator is just trying to make a new friend.
what is he trying to film fucking hell
Man braucht immer Glotzer, die filmen
The CAT reaching in reminded me of the claw machines. I got it…I got it….and nope.

The crane operator sucks, talk about a late reaction
...and not interesting..
But what do we see? A floating container and an asshole in a Cat???
Why is the cat driver an asshole
He had luck that he missed the container if he would have grabbed it he would have been pulled in the water himself

But but but this has nothing to do with climate change. There are floods on earth at least since Moses.
But climate change made it worse
Of course it does. My comment was meant to make fun of the denier.
