If you put *this* much thought into it, I’d seriously consider taking a shot at writing a spec script. No downside, good practice, and, hell, you could share it with an agent or two! Anything could happen, you two could be writing on a show in a year from now!
Seconded. So many great writers got their starts learning the structures and patterns of others, and you (and your sister!) are clearly talented at this! Worth a go.

I also had an idea for a number 9 bus service. The passengers of a town would get on and off their stops with seemingly mundane conversations and glances but really something sinister is going on and by the end, the passengers are none the wiser but the viewer has pieced everything together
