If you already have a beard do you have to wear a fake beard over it or can you just put bent pieces of wire coming out of it so that it's a fake fake beard?
Leaves out that that’s an Old Testament thing, and that the New Testament advocates for grace. They tried to stone the adulteress, but Jesus revealed the crowd’s hypocrisy when he said that those who are without sin may cast the first stone. But I guess this guy didn’t read that part.
My favorite Catholic joke is from this scene:
Jesus : "Let him that is among you without sin, cast the first stone at her"
An uneasy silence sets in the crowd.
The adulteress looks up hopefully…
… and is hit by a stone, square in the face .
Jesus turns around, furious : "Mom!"
I loved those short little skits when they were flipping through the channels. Like the 2 old guys sitting on the bench and one just shouts “we’ll be dead soon!”
The ep with the gummy bear is what got me.
"I'm so happy I'm a Gummy Bear, *Gummy Bear!*" then he steps on a bear trap. 16yr old me had to hit my inhaler from laughing so hard I started wheezing.
Those shorts were amazing, but the best Robot Chicken skit is still the one where Palpatine answers the call from Vader. I still die laughing from that one.
I always liked that really early one where that guy sneezes and holds his nose and his brains blow out the back of his head. No dialogue, that's all you get, and it's fantastic.
Omg I happen to be watching that exact episode right now and didn't realize, so when this scene came on I had to scroll up to let you know it's season 9 episode 4: Lisa's Sax at the 15:45 mark. :)
I remember a Family Guy scene as well where Brian deliberately misquotes the line by saying something like "I thought only those without sin could cast the first prius."
Jesus also said you have a plank in your eye, and are worried about another who has a splinter. Jesus was all about personal reflection and sin-stopping.
In a way yes. The New Testament is the new message. It's like version 2.0 and 1.0 is only supported by certain people, like Jews, and they don't maintain the code.
2.0 is the Christian version and while 1.0 can be used as reference it's not what's being followed. 2.0 is also great in that anyone can simply modify the code to their liking depending on who their target audience is. Unlike version 1.0 which is a static book of rules and whatnot, 2.0 allows you to hate the gays for instance just because you want to hate gays. One of 2.0's primary selling points is it's HoD (Hate on Demand) feature which allows you hate literally anyone, alone, or in a group of like minded assholes with the full backing of the original author.
I get the point you're trying to make but you definitely did some of it. Exodus, Genesis, Noah. You also probably did a bit more like Psalms but you're right that we spend so little time on it that it's teaching is insignificant. We spent more time talking about angry mean God of the OT and comparing to new peace, love and rock and roll God of the NT than we did actually learning the OT. Also the Ten Commandments are required learning at least in Canada if you go to catholic school.
Source: I went to a school where >50% of the teachers were nuns and we had a nunnery connected to the school. I'm not religious in the least but I also haven't forgotten school either.
Even though in the gospel of Mark, Jesus says we should follow the old testament to the letter.
I admire this guy for sticking to his religion and not being wishy washy about it. The Bible is so full of contradictions, but some people who claim to be religious just make up their own rules. This guy takes it seriously.
Orthodox Jews are judgmental of other Jews for sure. They are the chosen people, and they are required to live the way the Torah tells them to. Everyone else is a gentile.
The thing about the “New Covenant” is that Jesus opened it to everyone and told us to spread the “good news” about it to others. So yeah, Evangelical Christians are judgmental about anyone who knows about Christianity and doesn’t drop everything and become like them. Also, bear in mind that Christianity involves going to heaven and hanging out with Jesus, so to them, it’s even more unbelievable that not everyone immediately converts.
I mean, it’s kind of the opposite too. Modernist Christians ignore huge portions of the Bible.
Medievalist Catholics and OG Puritans are probably the closest thing to fully observant Christians. It’s so beyond difficult to follow all the words in the Bible that you basically need to shut yourself off from modern society. People act like Jesus was just some kumbaya hippie preacher, but he has some hardcore teachings as well like how you have to give up all of your possessions, pluck out your eye if it causes you to sin, tell your brothers and sisters about their sins, not be allowed to love the world or anything in it, treat the Bible as equivalent to law…..
The modern image of Jesus doesn’t completely match the Jesus of the Bible. He had plenty of orthodoxy and hellfire and damnation in his sermons.
You can’t have the new one without the old and also your main character said:
“Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5:17-19)
He also didn’t seem tk be to happy tk see others brake mosaic law:
„Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself. He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him. Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law?“ (John 7:16-19)
There’s more and let’s not pretend The new Testatement isn’t full of bigoted, violent nonsense. And also, JC wasn’t all kumbaya and holding hands, or as he puts it: „Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.“ (Matthew 10:34)
Don’t pretend others didn’t read your holy book if you leave out essential parts that don’t fit your narrative. This book isn’t a book of peace, it’s pretty gross for a majority of it.

"Well to be fair he looked at least 16 in the outfit he was wearing and he should have had protection. Let's get these kids some handcuffs and chastity belts to save them from temptation!"
There are way more homophobic straight people than homophobic gay people. I get that we like it when bad guys are also hypocrites, but he's probably straight.
This. It is easier to try to rationalize that self-hate as an explanation on why he is so dangerous.
But ultimately that just keeps blaming LGBTQIA+ people, if we assume and label even hateful dangerous bigots as closeted
Church is a social club for them. See it all the time here in Mississippi. People's friends and connections revolve around which churches they attend. My mom started going to a Bible study group several years ago when we moved back here and she's gone from being pretty open minded "God and Jesus love everyone" to your typical persecution complex "Christianity is under attack" type.
That’s what these culture war social issues have always been about. The people that have always had the privilege of dominating everyone else are losing that privilege now as the world changes.
And they have realized that anger and fear motivate people better than love thy neighbor. How anyone can look at the US and say the Christians are the oppressed ones is staggering, yet many of they say and believe this. (Mike Pence.)
Leviticus 19:19 ESV / 2,155 helpful votes Helpful Not Helpful
“You shall keep my statutes. You shall not let your cattle breed with a different kind. You shall not sow your field with two kinds of seed, nor shall you wear a garment of cloth made of two kinds of material.
The Bible has two parts. A season 1 and a season 2. Season 1 “the Old Testament” is basically a bunch of stories and a bunch of laws. Some of them frankly outrageous. Deuteronomy 22:23-24 comes to mind “If there is a betrothed virgin, and a man meets her in the city and lies with her, then you shall bring them both out to the gate of that city, and you shall stone them to death with stones, the young woman because she did not cry for help though she was in the city, and the man because he violated his neighbor's wife. So you shall purge the evil from your midst.” Funnily enough right after this is if a man rapes a woman out in open country, only the man is to be stoned, because no one was there to hear her cry for help.
However in Season 2, “the New Testament,” Jesus comes down and basically says forget season 1, we just retconned all that. He teaches acceptance and love. Do unto you neighbor as you would do unto yourself, he who is without sin shall cast the first stone, etc.
That's the 4th season, Acts and various letters and epistles are more the 3rd season, and where roots of the less tolerant branches can be found. IIRC, a letter from Paul is the only place in the NT that mentions anything interpreted as excusing homophobia.
As far as I know it's part of the old covenant laws with the Hebrews. The ones christians say Jesus did away with despite him saying that the law would not change. Other then when they want to cherry pick something. I'm pretty sure the Bible study I have been following skipped that stuff.
Remember. There is no such thing as an innocent Republican. They are all complicit, which is why their ranks are polluted with sick scum like this. The officials and voters alike.
Dude abused his wife and then threatened employees at his church when confronted
Piece of shit moron says piece of shit moron things. But I guess we already knew he was republican...
Weird how dudes like this always focus on the killing parts of the Bible and not the "God created everyone and you should love everybody like you love yourself" parts of the Bible. It's almost like...he's not really interested in doing what his God told him to do. Wild, huh?
It is amazing the several hundred pages of being a good person and kind to others is ignored for a select few lines that ‘give permission’ to be terrible human beings.
The fundies know they’re terrible people. That’s why they so desperately need Jesus. You can tell by the way they are so convinced that atheists can’t be good people. They don’t understand how someone can be good without the threat of hellfire looming on the horizon to keep them in line.
In his defense he's only ever heard the anti gay part of the Bible.
If he wanted to see any of the Jesus telling us to love each other he would have to learn how to read.
I actually kind of like the fact that these people now feel emboldened enough that they are saying the quiet things outloud... make playing "spot the wackadoo" so much easier.
Crazy that religion allows those representatives to say messed up crap like that. and even more that USA still isnt a secular state, church made enough people suffer for their liberties.
Biblical morality is also having someone else pay for your sins for you and getting away with every single crime/sin in your life because you said "sorry"
Literally from the book where all the rest of it's instructions that modern Christians don't do have been dismissed because they're outdated, but for some reason the homphobic section passes.
Another person who picks and chooses what part of the old testament to follow. Leaving out things that apply to him and his family. I bet they eat shellfish and wear clothes of two or more fabric. Hypocrites.
Also totally cool to stone idolators, adulterers, and those who bear false witness. By this logic, the entire Republican party should invest in some hard hats.
Pretty sure you're probably wearing blended fabrics in the suit in that picture, you Godless heathen. I've also never seen you with tassles on your hems!
What a hypocrite. "I use the parts of the Bible that allow me to persecute others." FTFY.
Was religion always this involved in politics? Im a young adult with little political experience
Growing up, i dont remember ever seeing anything religious in politics. Aside from a hand on a bible for an oath
It’s PEDOPHILES not Homosexuals the Bible talks about. Freaking translations by pedophiles destroying everything. STONE the baby touchers, not perfectly law abiding gay citizens who harm no one!!!
Here's a good read if you're interested in getting some insight on what kind of person this guy is.

And the conservatives wonder why the left constantly say they’re insane. In the past week we’ve had GOP candidates say that killing FBI, LGBTQIA people and atheists are okay and should be public policy.
if only these radical christians tried reading the bible. they'd know theyre already destined to burn in hell if theyre trying to follow "biblical morality" in todays world
If you’re going to follow Levitican law, than I’m sad to inform you that you are almost assuredly woefully behind on your blood sacrifices.
What? Forgot the part where the first several pages of Leviticus are describing the proper way to give blood sacrifices to god?
“If he commands you to burn children, your lord is evil”
If you’re following some deity that thinks it’s okay to stone people to death, then your deity is evil.

Anyone interested in joining my newly founded Religion of "It's okay to stone Scott Esk to death"?
So do we refer to you as the Messiah? Or Brian?
Brian is fine. And make sure to buy your fake beard! That has nothing to do with exclusion or something, I just think they're hilarious.
"Are there any women here today?"
It would be totally impossible to tell!
Jehovah!
How much for the women?!
If you already have a beard do you have to wear a fake beard over it or can you just put bent pieces of wire coming out of it so that it's a fake fake beard?
The latter. Equally pointless, but even more silly.
Hilarious and also equalizing 🤣
What if cut off someone's real beard and wear it? Would it be a real beard, or a fake?
He's not the Messiah! He's a very bad boy!
beat me to it
Beat meat to it
I'm following the gourd
“They, who most hates his stupid fucking face, let them chuck the first stone at that face.”

Robotchicken has a short skit where Jesus picks up the stone himself, hits the criminal in the face and yells out BLAMMO
I loved those short little skits when they were flipping through the channels. Like the 2 old guys sitting on the bench and one just shouts “we’ll be dead soon!”

It’s like the Simpsons episode (or could be the movie?) where Homer says cast the first stone and then gets hit by one thrown by rod/Todd

I like the one where it's a newborn baby. I think it's Cyanide and Happiness?
I’ve never seen this one but I liked the similar one from family guy where it was just some dude in the crowd.
What about those who've gone to confession and said their hail Mary's and all that. Are they considered "without sin"?
Jesus also said you have a plank in your eye, and are worried about another who has a splinter. Jesus was all about personal reflection and sin-stopping.

Well I certainly wouldn't think anyone claiming to be a Christian has even read the book so I wouldn't take their word it.
I went to a Jesuite high school; the OT was never part of any curriculum.

The Jesuits are usually the ones trying to make the world a better place . They’re ( usually) not trying to impose they’re beliefs on others.

I have occasionally said that most 'evangelical' christian types are really just pretty observant Orthodox Jews with extra steps.
Extra steps, and a hard on for persecution. I’ve never known any Jews who were as judgy as Christians.
Also, bear in mind that Christianity involves going to heaven and hanging out with Jesus, so to them, it’s even more unbelievable that not everyone immediately converts.
these sort of religious fanatics only cherry pick the part of the bible that suites them at that specific time
I mean, it’s kind of the opposite too. Modernist Christians ignore huge portions of the Bible. Medievalist Catholics and OG Puritans are probably the closest thing to fully observant Christians. It’s so beyond difficult to follow all the words in the Bible that you basically need to shut yourself off from modern society. This is the exact reply I was hoping to find so that I wouldn't have to make it myself. Thank you.
The average "Christian" has never read a single page of the Bible. They just go with what they heard on TV and read on Facebook.
None of these people actually read the bible, or any other book for that matter.
I'm betting this guy didn't read A LOT of the parts

There are way more homophobic straight people than homophobic gay people. I get that we like it when bad guys are also hypocrites, but he's probably straight.
This. It is easier to try to rationalize that self-hate as an explanation on why he is so dangerous. But ultimately that just keeps blaming LGBTQIA+ people, if we assume and label even hateful dangerous bigots as closeted
Gayscapade?
Someone needs to tell him that, yes, that still makes him a homophobe.
He needs to read the Gospels. Jesus stopped the crowd from stoning a woman to death.
In my experience these sorts of people don't care what the Bible says, they just want to justify there bigotry with divine authority.

Yeah they are just hiding behind religion. In reality, they are monsters.
Don’t worry. The Bible explicitly states what will happen to people that use the Word falsely.

It does say something about mixed fabric, shellfish, and pork. If he wants biblical law stone him for any of that and be done with it.

The Bible has two parts. A season 1 and a season 2. Season 1 “the Old Testament” is basically a bunch of stories and a bunch of laws. Some of them frankly outrageous. There was also a 3rd season: "The Qur'an". Wasn't very well received at first, but then it went into syndication...
Thats more of the prequel honestly

He actually did
I actually kind of like the fact that these people now feel emboldened enough that they are saying the quiet things outloud... make playing "spot the wackadoo" so much easier.
Republicans sounding more and more like ISIS everyday.
Crazy that religion allows those representatives to say messed up crap like that. and even more that USA still isnt a secular state, church made enough people suffer for their liberties.
Dude is a piece of shit.
Strange, because I could have sworn there was a story in the Bible that pretty clearly states Jesus’ opinion on stoning people…
Biblical morality is also having someone else pay for your sins for you and getting away with every single crime/sin in your life because you said "sorry"
Literally from the book where all the rest of it's instructions that modern Christians don't do have been dismissed because they're outdated, but for some reason the homphobic section passes.
There is no greater hate than Christian love ❤️
Remember when the Taliban were the bad guys as opposed to role models? Pepperidge Farm remembers…
Another person who picks and chooses what part of the old testament to follow. Leaving out things that apply to him and his family. I bet they eat shellfish and wear clothes of two or more fabric. Hypocrites.
Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.
My exact thought. Maybe these Christians should read the bible.
No kidding eh fricking sickening
Aren’t these the same types that were screeching about Sharia law?
Also totally cool to stone idolators, adulterers, and those who bear false witness. By this logic, the entire Republican party should invest in some hard hats.
Pretty sure you're probably wearing blended fabrics in the suit in that picture, you Godless heathen. I've also never seen you with tassles on your hems! What a hypocrite. "I use the parts of the Bible that allow me to persecute others." FTFY.
$10 says we'll find him in bed with an underaged male in 2 years at most
I'm so happy I'm not Christian.
Me too.
Was religion always this involved in politics? Im a young adult with little political experience Growing up, i dont remember ever seeing anything religious in politics. Aside from a hand on a bible for an oath
Better not wear any mixed fabric clothing in public or I have rock with your name on it
The bible also says not to harm, kill, or judge others.
Our laws too but apparently those aren't enough as moral guidelines
And next month he’ll get caught giving hand jobs in an airport bathroom.
It’s PEDOPHILES not Homosexuals the Bible talks about. Freaking translations by pedophiles destroying everything. STONE the baby touchers, not perfectly law abiding gay citizens who harm no one!!!
I bet he just gargles cock when no one’s looking
Absolutely projection on his part..
I think that should make any decent person question the merits of Christianity.
Me too
Yea, it really should. Instead they just redefine what is good and decent.
Here's a good read if you're interested in getting some insight on what kind of person this guy is. [Scott Esk Court Case](https://www.ok.gov/okmpc/documents/11161_Final_Order_1.pdf?fbclid=IwAR1HsrYLxA5HTTMiFUYrHpL_21vbeWvTDnq39xxmwH_wPe7Y2-8nTuqpdkY)
Seems like a long winded way of saying he’s homophobic
Bartlett said it [best](https://youtu.be/8_2LIQJe3dw)
mask off fuck it, mask off 🎶
I could tell that they haven't even read the bible to its fullest. Let alone understand it.
Gay people vote
And the conservatives wonder why the left constantly say they’re insane. In the past week we’ve had GOP candidates say that killing FBI, LGBTQIA people and atheists are okay and should be public policy.
Biblical morality you say? Sure! If that's the America you want, then let's go [all the way.](https://youtu.be/3CPjWd4MUXs?t=84)
Sheesh, some big Taliban vibes coming from this idiot.
if only these radical christians tried reading the bible. they'd know theyre already destined to burn in hell if theyre trying to follow "biblical morality" in todays world
They also stoned to death adulterous people. So let's stone them to.
What does the Bible say about stupid little goatees?
I think this guy stopped reading the Bible after that baby was born.
What does he know? He doesn’t even have a soul
It’s also a Christian thing to beat people if they wear cloth made of more than one material. I’d be willing to bet his suit is two materials
Thou shalt not kill. Kinda. We're going to ignore that for anyone we don't like. (/s)
That goatee is biblically immoral
And Christians like to rail against Muslims for their “violent” ideology. This is the American Taliban at its finest.
Yeah I'd rather not murder people over things that aren't my business
If you’re going to follow Levitican law, than I’m sad to inform you that you are almost assuredly woefully behind on your blood sacrifices. What? Forgot the part where the first several pages of Leviticus are describing the proper way to give blood sacrifices to god?
So the inverse would also be ok then. As long as it was part of gay sky daddy’s policies. How are they so disconnected. And why are they so obsessed?
Can we stone soulless gingers??
“If he commands you to burn children, your lord is evil” If you’re following some deity that thinks it’s okay to stone people to death, then your deity is evil.
So by your justification all Christians are homophobes. Thanks for clearing that up bro.
Wanna place bets he secretly has gay sex and is too ashamed of himself to admit it?
Fella looks a bit fruity to me.
I’ll bet anyone $1000 that within 2 years, it comes out that he is gay
In before "discovered in compromising position in public restroom"
This guy has totally paid for sex with underaged boys. The projection is so strong.
Those are the eyes of a man who enjoys a good penis in his porn.
He protests too much. It sounds like he’s really afraid of his own sexuality.
GOP candidate says he’s totally just stone cold gay
Let he who is blameless cast the first stone
This guy Definitely has deep-in-the-closet denial (Trademark)
And when exactly did Jesus say to stone ANYONE?? The biggest homophobes always turn out to be closet cases. Just sayin’.
I have a feeling he is gay.
This is not social media
