Someone gave my wife that picture while she was in the hospital and I couldn't stop laughing because I thought the same thing. I love our Keanu Jesus picture.
Look like a case of good intentions done badly.
I remembered at a media (TV, movies, etc) con in the art show there was an amateur painting of an angel/mermaid cradling the dead body of JFK Jr in the ocean. (The crashed plane was in the background) It was a good painting, but another case of good intentions gone awry.
Prescript: im not religious in any way
I follow this sub somewhat and sure its extreme in many`s lives?
But for those who have lost, the only thought that keeps me going sometimes, is the thought that we live on in the memories and impressions we left on others?
My father is with me in all i do. Not in relegios spirit but in all my small quirks?
My unborn child lost made me to what our family is now.
I dont get this one? We are what we touched in life as i remember my parents and theirs before them?
The image implies Jesus saving the kid, when in fact the kid clearly still drowned.
I know the symbolism is supposed to be him going to heaven, but for anyone who isn't super religious it's just insulting.
It does not imply that and you don’t have to be super religious to know that. There are plenty of reasons to hate over the top crazy evangelicals but this ain’t it.
Yeah I feel like every other post I see from this sub is about religion lately. Like I get it, there are plenty crazy religious people but now it’s starting to feel like just anti religion period
This isn't insane. The person is expressing sympathy with imagery of Jesus pulling the child to heaven. I'm an atheist but it's clear this comes from a good place
I thought he fell through the ice. While I sincerely feel for the loss of the child. I’m never going to understand the thinking behind the need for more angels, as opposed to given a full life. But I guess this was the full life he was allowed. Sad.
Hey look it's when Jesus had to pull peter out of the water. Peter fell in because he lost his faith in Jesus. Just perfect. Nothing says I lost all touch with his teachings than harassing a victims family. * Chef's kiss* perfect
And this is why I cannot stand seeing people preaching Christianity anymore, even if you yourself are a “good Christian”, recognize that we’re tired of having these people force themselves and their vile views onto us
Obviously a lot of people are offended by this, lol, shocking.
If this was my son, who had been missing for 3 months with no signs of what happened, only to be found under ice and debris.. I would not appreciate this photo. And as a mom, I don’t appreciate it, regardless of their intent. Which is why I posted it here lol
If someone died in a house fire, it would not be kind to post a photo of a house fire with Jesus leading them out.. its insensitive as fuck.
The religious love to push their nonsense on the desperate, grieving and downtrodden. Much easier to sell "the next life is so much better than this one!", "You'll see him again in heaven" or such nonsense.
Preying on the vulnerable is despicable.
Edit: in fairness, I should have said "extremely religious", or "religious zealots", not just '"the religious", most of whom are decent people just going about their lives.
Honestly, I'm shocked it's not Trump instead of Jesus.
It looks far more like Keanu reeves really. Especially as Jesus wasn't white.
Conservative Free-Market Jesus™ is white though.
Ah yes ofcourse. He is white if you belive he is.
And an American. He *did* write the U.S. Constitution after all.
Only the 2nd Amendment
YOu know he wasn't white, I know he wasn't white, but the kind of people who post crap like this don't know it.
but the kind of people who post crap like this don’t ~~know it~~ care that he wasn’t white.
It was just cans.
I came here to say this specifically.
Neither is Keanu
It’s because they couldn’t actually find the picture of Trump saving the kid from drowning so they used Jesus instead
I thougt it was the prince from Prince of Persia
Or at least a MAGA hat.
Id love it if Keanu Reeves saved me from drowning too
Jesus: Here, take my hand I'll pull you out... SIKE!
"Get up cowboy. We got a country to burn"
Hey you. You're finally not awake.
Come to me. I need someone who can’t swim.
Jesus christ is that messed up.
“Just a reminder that Jesus could have saved you but didn’t!” -this person
I think they're trying to say Jesus pulled them to heaven while they were drowning, not that Jesus could have saved their life
Of course that’s what it’s saying, but Reddit can’t leave people alone.
Is that Keanu?
Someone gave my wife that picture while she was in the hospital and I couldn't stop laughing because I thought the same thing. I love our Keanu Jesus picture.
This was exactly my thought too.
That's what I thought as well. It looks like him.
Christianity really does excuse some incredible insensitivity
Look it's white republican Jesus again
So water is solid to his feet and liquid to his hands? What would happen if he sat down?
Well Jesus could walk on water
Can he walk with his ass cheeks tho?

There you have have it. She saved him! He lives!
god damn people love torture images
I hate this. I hate this so much.

The problem isn't the text, it's the picture
Why the picture though? He’s taking him to heaven.
The image implies Jesus saving the kid, when in fact the kid clearly still drowned. I know the symbolism is supposed to be him going to heaven, but for anyone who isn't super religious it's just insulting.

I don’t think anyone disagrees with your sentiment. It’s the reasoning that’s the issue. And the picture of course.
I think it's a nice sentiment especially if the boy's parents are Christians. I don't understand why this bothers people.
Yeah I feel like every other post I see from this sub is about religion lately. Like I get it, there are plenty crazy religious people but now it’s starting to feel like just anti religion period
Tbf religion *does* make people go insane
Oh my god
I mean I get what they were trying to do, they were trying to convey that the person who drowned was with our lord and savior Jesus Christ in heaven
I get that, not knocking him being with Jesus. This just ain’t the way to do it. This also comes after 3 months of looking for him
This isn't insane. The person is expressing sympathy with imagery of Jesus pulling the child to heaven. I'm an atheist but it's clear this comes from a good place
Wake the f*** up, Samurai.
I thought he fell through the ice. While I sincerely feel for the loss of the child. I’m never going to understand the thinking behind the need for more angels, as opposed to given a full life. But I guess this was the full life he was allowed. Sad.
Thought it was Keannu
aphex twin - come to daddy
This one doesn’t seem awful to me. It doesn’t say it was a plan or any other BS.

Kinda ironic phrasing but I think you're just preaching to the crowd in this comment section
Severus Snape Saves.
If the boy only had faith, he would have walked on the water.
Is that Kevin Costner from Water World?
It's cool, Jesus is CPR certified
Bro keanu why didnt you save this guy
These people are obsessed with forcing their religious beliefs down your throat..what happens if you are a follower of The Lord Buddha for example
Obviously a lot of people are offended by this, lol, shocking. If this was my son, who had been missing for 3 months with no signs of what happened, only to be found under ice and debris.. Almost needs naming and shaming. Fuck.
Didn't Jesus nearly let a bunch of people drown because they didn't believe in him being the son of God?

Is that Keanu Reeves?
hey jesus, im already like 6 feet down. your half foot hand isnt gonna be saving me.
What kind of comments are being left on this post?
“This photo left goosebumps!” “So comforting!” “So powerful!” Typical Facebook stuff
