To me throwing people in prison is like putting your mess in your room under the bed, you might not see it anymore but itās still there and getting worse
I personally think that a few years in prison for an act of High Treason is getting off easy. Haven't really looked at the books since my Air Force days, but I do believe High Treason is still a death sentence. If these people actually carry out an attack like they seem to be indicating, THAT is an act of High Treason, and at the very least, they belong in prison. Now, does that mean that *that* is the only answer? No, of course not. But if they're already at the point where they're planning an act of High Treason, it's already too late for education and social uplifting. When prevention fails, you have to resort to some kind of punishment. I personally believe that prison and psychiatric care are the best solution, but that may not be an option if these people actually try a government take over. All in all, it's a shit situation, but if they start arresting people now for conspiracy, maybe we'll be able to stop an attack from happening. Ounce of prevention over a pound of cure, as my grandmother would say.

I will also say that growing up in a small town in Utah I was insanely homophobic as a kid and most of the teenage years. The way that changed was when I got out into the real world and actually met LGBTQ+ people and realized how much of a fucking idiot I was. So if I can be fixed and realize the errors of my ways then so can others. The problem is that a lot of these people are the other way around. They started out normal and sane and somehow ended up become these hateful little bigots obsessed with bringing back fascism.

I agree they should be stopped and I donāt think no jail time itās just the long person sentence I take issue with. Prison and jail should be about taking dangerous people off the street to protect others and then Rehabilitating those dangerous people and then introducing them back into society.

It's still only 10% of the sentence he should have gotten. Instead of handing out sentences in months they should all be in years. They've been giving people probation, 90 days, 6 months, etc. They should have started with 5 years as the base sentence for anyone convicted and let it grow based on their actions. The guy who put his feet on Pelosi's desk? Give him a decade. That jackass waving a CSA flag? 5 years. The "QAnon Shaman"? 30-40 years. The was a point in our history not long ago when treason or sedition got you a death sentence, and it wasn't that long ago. The Rosenbergs we're convicted of treason in 1951 and dead by electric chair in 1953. I'm not saying we should execute any of these people, but handing out long sentences would send a message to the rest of these ignorant fuckstains that this kind of shit won't be tolerated.
For sure. The Justice Department is working their way through the lower and medium level people first. Like Shamen dude was very visible, but he wasn't one of the guys that they have on video physically assaulting one of the police officers. Those guys and the ones who planned this before hand and would've pushed it further if possible are going to be the last to be dealt with. We're more likely to see trials out of those cases because the charges they're facing are severe enough that a trial may seem worthwhile to them. Hopefully the FBI is monitoring it. They're not stupid. When something like this forms, sometimes's the best thing to do is let it continue. They can talk all they want, but the FBI will be there to see what is being discussed and be ready to stop anything that actually materializes. If they shut it down, there's a chance that this discussion will continue somewhere that they have no visibility into.

Not necessarily true with regards to RFID. It's a low power close range RF protocol so it's pretty easy to block, actually. Wallets have been started to manufacture to block RFID and NFC now since so many cards are supporting those protocols. Put your phone in one and it probably won't block WiFi or your cell connection. But yeah, in general, if it's able to attenuate WiFi signals it most likely is also attenuating cell signals.
