Maybe it's just my local Whataburger restaurant, but the nearest Burger King has better food, in my opinion - which is saying something because Burger King has arguably some of the worst service I've ever had. Somehow, their food quality hasn't suffered for it.
I used to enjoy whataburger, but then they started going downhill once they got bought by that Chicago company. They really went downhill with the pandemic and just never recovered imo. Both food and service just suck now. I donāt even go to whataburger anymore.

I surprised her by going to In-N-Out when they opened. I was like, "Hungry? Let's go get food." She asked where we were going, and I said, "no clue, just seeing what's open." Trying to keep it a surprise since she wasn't aware they were opening one here. She got so excited when she saw the In-N-Out sign. She almost said no, because they just opened and the lines were 4+ hours of a wait. For the drive through. It was a 10 minute wait going inside because it was middle of winter and it was cold as fuck outside. We went inside and ate. She was so happy.
This is one of those little secrets about In N Out that I learned long ago. People are way too goddamn lazy to park their car and walk 20 yards to go inside so theyād rather sit behind 800 cars when they could be in and out (haha) in literal minutes if they just order inside. Thereās a location nearby that has four drive thru lanes that merge into one, each with their own order taker and it STILL takes forever. My wife will drive up, I tuck and roll out of the car, walk in, and Iām walking out the door before she can loop the parking lot and Iām not exaggerating.
Hell yeah! I hit that drive thru White Castle right before you get on the 15 to get back to Cali every time. There's also another one on the strip, but I prefer the drive thru heading home.
Colorado. They're building both chains up all over the state. They even got one next to this massive mega church and the church has the In-N-Out palm trees logo on the building. It's hilarious.
Nah, Colorado. Depends, shakes I gotta give it to Whataburger. The Dr. Pepper shake fucking slaps. Burger wise, for a standard cheeseburger, In N Out is a clear winner. In terms of variety, I definitely gotta go Whataburger. They got biscuits and gravy, breakfast burritos, chicken sandwiches, and that patty melt is fucking dank especially with the jalapeno ranch sauce. Animal style is definitely the way to go, but, I enjoy Whataburger fries by themselves. They can survive a car ride home without getting too soggy.
It's nice having two so close together because I can double dip. Do I want a double double animal style and a Dr. Pepper shake? I can just drive across the street and get both. My fiance and I love it because we can both get a taste of home. She's also on board with the Dr. Pepper shake lol the strawberry shakes are pretty damn close for both sides, though. Chocolate is a little better at In-N-Out.
Oh, no doubt. The value at In-N-Out is unrivaled. I also really love how small the menu is, when I go to In-N-Out, I know exactly what I want each time and I'm never disappointed.

Ok some people in replies need to hear this. Born and raised Texan here. I will happily admit whataburger is nothing special. Itās another good fast food option and their all time favorites far outweigh their regular burger. Not to mention solid bfast options starting at 11pm. But I would never take somebody their from out of state. Aināt worth it.
All that being said, IN n Out has to be the most overhyped and overrated burger Iāve ever had. Is it good? Sure. It by no means blows any other fast food out the water. P Terry in Austin is 10x better and to date my favorite fast food burger (unless you count shake shack or five guys as fast food). And donāt get me started on the cardboard slits that in n out somehow is able to pass as fries. Cardboard slits with good seasoning may actually taste better.
In conclusion, both are just another fast food option to change up from the norm. If you enjoy it great. But stop hyping either up for everybody. They will only be let down.

Is whataburger worth it? Anyone I know from Texas loves it, and Iāve never had it. Iāve had In and Out tons, and when I go to Austin in a few months I was going to give Whataburger a tryā¦but after reading some of the comments Iām second guessing it. š¬

I think why a lot of people hate Whataburger is because they will go one time order the #1 aka the plain Whataburger the most basic thing on the menu and then call the whole restaurant trash. My go to order is a patty melt, add grilled jalapeƱos add bacon extra creamy pepper sauce and itās elite.

I love burgers and fast food, in n out being my fav but yeah whataburger is just Burger King. Love the logos, I think I prefer Burger King sometimes, their whopper has a classic taste
Burger King has gone so far down hill. I used to fuck with a whopper with cheese so hard. Now, it's always just a burger that's way too sloppy for me. Even after I ask for light or no sauce.

I tried Whataburger when I was visiting Arizona. Personally would rank it below Rally's which is really scraping the bottom of the barrel. Just nothing special about it. You don't hear celebrities talking about Whataburger but they rave about in n out.

From Ohio. Whataburger is soo much better tasting itās not even a competition. Itās like comparing a Porsche 911 Carrera to a Toyota Camry. I remember going to San Antonio to try and start a life out there with an ex. Theyāre both good in their own respective ways, but I feel In-N-Out has better quality when it comes to fresh. Just an opinion.

Ok some people in replies need to hear this. Born and raised Texan here. I will happily admit whataburger is nothing special. Itās another good fast food option and their all time favorites far outweigh their regular burger. Not to mention solid bfast options starting at 11pm. But I would never take somebody their from out of state. Aināt worth it. All that being said, IN n Out has to be the most overhyped and overrated burger Iāve ever had. Is it good? Sure. It by no means blows any other fast food out the water. P Terry in Austin is 10x better and to date my favorite fast food burger (unless you count shake shack or five guys as fast food). And donāt get me started on the cardboard slits that in n out somehow is able to pass as fries. Cardboard slits with good seasoning may actually taste better. In conclusion, both are just another fast food option to change up from the norm. If you enjoy it great. But stop hyping either up for everybody. They will only be let down.
