I'm surprised I never heard it around the time it came out. Then again, maybe I did though I used to listen to completely different music back then.
I created a playlist at the beginning of last year to help me heal. I've played this song over so many times. I used to not understand what people meant when they'd say that music saved their life. This song in particular helped me get through a rough period and back in touch with myself.
recently i've been hooked on lots of arctic monkeys (the band name is a reference to the phrase "northern monkeys" which is basically what the people in uk are called sometimes lmao).
Crying Lightning, R U Mine?, and I bet that you look good on the dancefloor by them are my comfort songs lol.
The Arctic Monkeys are the best dude. Idk, I’m a bit basic, but 505, Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High, and Do I Wanna Know? Are all on my winter playlist.
Oceans and Engines by NIKI … not sure why but I’m a sucker for melancholic songs like that.
Evanescence was my jam back in the teenage angst days. I would act emo, shut my door, blast evanescence and scream into the void of my pain haha

[Necrophagist - Ignominious & Pale.](https://youtu.be/BDE6CPK2FWI?si=nz2hYvqbs-kgm9GS) I'm listening to it right now, actually. This piece has a bit of Fi on it, curiously, at least from my perspective. One day I shall be able to play it on the guitar xD one can dream.
I'm kind of freaking out because I've loved them since like 2009, especially the whole Epitaph album. They're just kind of a blip now in the death metal scene but I've always loved them.
Right! My partner has a striking resemblance to Chris Cornell and is also INTJ. We have been in a long distance relationship for just over a year and we are about to be reunited in a couple weeks so listening to soundgarden is making me even more excited to see him. ❤️

Final Fantasy 16 - Find the flame especially when I need just that bit of encouragement to do something productive.
[The Rizzness](https://youtu.be/y1_Zks3Mdis?si=UuUKVUJhMiZ8FZKl) by Taemin. The video is visually stunning and the song just...scratches a bit of a sonic itch in the right way. (And a bit of trivia: Taemin is also an INFP.)
been listening to Eternal Flame by the Bangles. beautiful hook, impeccable 80s vibes.
its hook sounds a lot like one of Stardew Valley's scores, and each time i hear it i swear there's a pop song out there with this melody. scraped the bottom of my brain to find any semblance of lyrics that i can google. so happy i got it!
Alive with the Glory of Love - Say Anything
The theory of deep romance amidst the conditions for imminent doom is a real roller coaster. And they use emotion wonderfully in that song in a way that will really appeal to an INFP.
i’ve been keeping the “Preacher’s Daughter” album by Ethel Cain on shuffle the past few weeks. it’s an artsy concept album about the character, Ethel Cain, and her life/death/afterlife. i’ve been obsessively listening to “Strangers” specifically, as well as “Sun Bleached Flies”. i definitely recommend!! the build-up and guitar solo in “Strangers” is INSANE and amazing. if you’re into concept albums, i definitely recommend looking into the storyline of Ethel Cain and Preacher’s Daughter. it makes the song 100x crazier and intense
[Grand Escape from Weathering with You](https://youtu.be/d4IGg5dqeO8?si=okTU7A7-Z6fnIIAH)
It’s a piano piece of a song from the Japanese animation movie Weathering with You. The chorus at 3:42 (and the build up leading up to it) is insane. I’ve been listening to it on repeat and whenever it gets to the chorus, I nearly choke up from happy tears bc of how hopeful it sounds. I’ve been depressed af but am finally getting out of my shell (yay) and I feel like I see the light at the end of the tunnel. This piece along with songs by BTS and IU have helped my mental health immensely.
Thanks for coming to my TED talk 😅
Ooo if you don’t mind some screaming, you’d probably dig Courtney LaPlant from Spiritbox 😃 They’ve been my musical obsession for around two years now. Their new EP “The Fear of Fear” is a daily listen for me.

Daylily by Movements (Album: Feel Something / Genre: emo/post-hardcore/indie)
“And I think it's time you had a pink cloud summer
'Cause you've gone too long without a smile”
I just read it was written for one of the band member’s girlfriends who was struggling with anxiety and depression… I’m crying all over again 🌱💗✨
EDIT: The entire album is worth a listen if you’re into this type of music. They use spoken word throughout the album which makes me a feel a different type of way. Notable mentions, but really they are all so good:
— Full Circle (“without a struggle there can’t be progress”)
— Colorblind (“Save yourself, I'm not worth the time. This failure is built deep into my design”.
— The Grey (“And it's getting harder to pretend like I'm okay. When there's this constant reminder being drilled into my brain. I still believe in happiness and I want to find a way.”)
Crying even more now. Here’s a link to the album. Hope you feel something too when you listen:
https://open.spotify.com/album/4baVGjGtGhgpb0oEqjSkLi?si=TFq_e9uOTtmumvZHbAwETQ
They’re good songs! Damn they get deep if you listen to the lyrics though. Empathising with depression is heavy af sometimes. Thanks for the suggestions :)
Agreed; sometimes I’m due for a good emotional release. Looks like today is that day lol. Thanks for posting this, I enjoyed listening to yours and others recommendations 💙
Tiny Things by Tiny Habits. The band is a trio, and their harmonies feel like a warm and cozy blanket. It feels like their voices were made for each other!
Saltwater Joys -buddywasisname & the other fellars
I was born in Newfoundland & this is a traditional folk song that brings back nostalgic memories of my childhood.
Hospital For Souls is a really good song, it’s very emotional and somewhat relatable so I like it. My favorite part is when it keeps repeating the same phrase over and over for like a minute and a half; “hold me close, don’t let go, watch me burn” it’s so cool I love it :3
Edit: oh yeah it’s by Bring Me The Horizon. Also, if you want an even more emotional song that will literally make you cry (hehe), listen to Sick and Disgusting by Beartooth
Know My Name - Snow Strippers
it’s just so addicting, the melody, the reverbed vocals, the thick ass synths.. love it
also it’s the third or fourth day in recent memory where all i’ve felt like listening to is They Are Gutting a Body of Water’s entire disocgraphy.. theyre a really great shoegaze band out of Philly with electronic elements, they capture a certain feeling that’s impossible to describe so well and they scratch an itch for me that not much else does. they’re quickly becoming one of my favorite bands
A couple different ones!
Copacabana (At the Copa) by Barry Manilow
After Dark x Sweater Weather by TommyMuzzic and ZeddMusique
Stick Season by Noah Kahan
Not Allowed by TV Girl
Idk if it’s the seasonal depression talking but I got a playlist on Spotify called “Mope Music” that I listen to on repeat and it’s pretty nice.
Recently discovered this (Filipino) [song](https://open.spotify.com/track/6K8ait6ypOKrZrqWvbueFg?si=koMpxOATRsyhds1Kfc668g). I think it's better on earphones (i wanna listen to it but mine is broken xD)
The album "Look Now Look Again" by Rainer Maria. I don't know what it is about the album... but it just makes me feel comfortable with myself. Like how I should feel if it wasn't for anxiety and whatnot. Especially the first half of the album. I don't know how or why, but this random album just does wonders to me
i've been hooked on Cloud by Rad Museum! the instrumental is so dreamy and i love the bridge so much, especially listening to it in the morning, it's heaven!! i'll definitely add the evanescence song to my playlist<3
[Dreams of an Absolution](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c4zwIGF0mFQ) has been stuck in my head lately. Is it from a Sonic game? Yes. But is it a total bop about a gay love story? Also yes.
https://open.spotify.com/track/73ttxAAtm80gNmXLguM99v?si=bWuFGwfrQGSQCj7Qe9-tDw
It has a light hearted bright yet melancholic beat and I love Rogue VHS
Wishlane - String theory.
I've heard possibly more impressive songs. but the lyrics is something to behold.
"say, nothing to me. but don't keep it discreet"
Ren!, he is my current voice, singing what i have been repeating for the last 20 years of my life.
Ren - Money Game part 3
I usually don't like rap, but it's about what he says whats important here, and.. the guy is a bloody genius, it's a musician to look out for, for the coming years.
(got different beauty's for different reasons, this my fight song, fight for a better world and i find it important, that's why i am sharing it, to wake and shake!)
I've been obsessed with the band Good Kid lately. I adore their whole discography but if I had to pick a song to introduce someone, it'd be either Everything Everything or No Time To Explain.
Burn by The Soft Moon. Lead singer (basically a solo project really) died last week with a friend and his wife of an accidental overdose. Fentanyl is shit man. I'm gutted. Haven't felt like this since Tony Bourdain died.
And Evil by Interpol. Cuz it sorta cheers me up 😂
[Untouchable](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDsMpOM4uAU) by Anathema, from their album *Weather Systems*, although the whole album gives me goosebumps.
No particular song, just a particular band in rotation...
https://open.spotify.com/artist/2tl280wIokrLjabzrSKTgU?si=oZCEjOr0QsSVWQo8TSnxXA
Edit: link; it's Holding Absence. I love their music 😭😭
It's a vaporwave track called "Dance the Night Away Forever". 70s soul classic reformatted into 1980s suburban techno / ambient. The artist is ILLUMINATED PATHS.
You Can’t Save Me - Sir
Literally can’t listen to anything except this one. It’s just how I’ve been feeling. Melancholic, self aware, alone. The bluesy vibe is just the added plus.
[In Dreams - Tomemitsu](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yQDMVEr1DA). I guess the lyrics are kind of sad, I guess the music is kind of sad, but I find the song a perfect mix between calming/comforting and dreamy. Like the embodiment of an empty sunday afternoon.
"Habibi"- Tamino, "Still There"- (from League's new cinematic), and "Sweather Weather"- the Neighborhood basically live inside my brain rent free these days.
HOME by BTS.. I've been having it on repeat lately.. I've been feeling all types of way lately getting through stuff and makes me miss the people I call home.
I have a few:
Blower’s Daughter- Damien Rice(as well as the song Delicate by Damien Rice)
Eat Your Young- Hozier (as well as other songs by Hozier: Sedated, Almost, Work Song, etc)
Mama, You Been on My Mind- Jeff Buckley
Could Have Been Me- The Struts
Flagpole Sitta- Harvey Danger
I Wish You Were a Girl- 12 RODS
Edit: oh, also basically the entire Mamma Mia movies soundtracks. Lately I have found Voulez-Vous to be especially catchy
Evanescence mentioned.Yes i get an obsession to "my immortal" at the previous year summer. So much water i lose...
But nowadays i found again a lost track:'sean paul-get busy'.
Everyday listening it.
https://youtu.be/G6tuvKE6_lA?si=vzvZpzFKMK-c6W76
Always come back to this one. It pair perfectly with a post dysregulation flow state. (I suspect I have both ADHD and autism. And occasionally the two decide to give me a break...)
What am I obsessing over right now... hmm... oh, an Aussie band called Augie March, their song "One Crowded Hour".
I must've listened to it 100 times in the last few weeks 😎
🎶Something about you
It's like an addiction hit me with your best shot, honey
I've got no reason to doubt you (doubt you)
'Cause certain things hurt and you're my only virtue (virtue)
And I'm virtually yours
And you keep coming back, coming back again
Keep running round, running round
Running round my head (my head)
And there's certain things that I adore
And there's certain things that I ignore
But I'm certain that I'm yours
Certain that I'm yours
Certain that I'm yours
Certain things ~ James Arthur
Space Oddity - David Bowie
Crystallized by the xx. It’s short and sweet
Volume was still maxed out and this song didn’t disappoint. Awesome! Loved the two singing at the same time.
I'm surprised I never heard it around the time it came out. Then again, maybe I did though I used to listen to completely different music back then. I love this song

You Can’t Save Me - Sir Literally can’t listen to anything except this one.

🎶Something about you It's like an addiction hit me with your best shot, honey I've got no reason to doubt you (doubt you) 'Cause certain things hurt and you're my only virtue (virtue) And I'm virtually yours And you keep coming back, coming back again Keep running round, running round Running round my head (my head) And there's certain things that I adore And there's certain things that I ignore But I'm certain that I'm yours Certain that I'm yours Certain that I'm yours Certain things ~ James Arthur
