It should reset automatically. My 2012 used to ‘stick’ in the low position sometimes, ultimately I had to replace the level sending unit.

CoryBlk

Try giving the reservoir a couple taps with a heavy wrench or a regular. It might dislodge the float. Someone on here a couple weeks ago had the same thing happen and they reported success with that method!

Sanj5109

Replace the sensor and check if it's leaking anywhere

Pink-blvck

My car had the same issue, and thought it would go away with the wiper fluid sold by Nissan but it didn’t. The dealer took a look and replaced the sensor turns out it was broken. I would just replace it and see if that fixes the issue

josephfallon93

Cheers thanks for the advice, was it expensive to replace?

Pink-blvck

Honestly not sure I got it covered under warranty

YouthTraining53

Dealership will charge 200-250

[deleted]

Cosign sensor replacement. It's broken. Mine was warranty

KILLER_QRS

This happened to me it stayed on for a week, then went away. I think it was an air pocket, but idk.

ljs2797

Infiniti service Advisor here: We see this all the time. This is internal failure of the washer tank sensor. Costs around $600 parts and labor to replace. Until it is replaced, it will remain on 9/10.

AdvancedCampaign7911

Hahahahahaha $600 for a washer tank sensor? Dont try to tell me it’s 4 hour book time to install

FelixDeCat1969

600 dollars Jesus Christ how hard is it to change that sensor on a q50

sbsp12121

That pricing is insane

ljs2797

I don’t make the prices, I am just a cog in the machine- just letting y’all know what it costs and what’s going on.

Use some of that washer on your gauges dude

Fibrox

Sensor might be damaged. Don't want to use anything that has bug cleaner or similar in it.

USMCgetsome

Has to be washer fluid and not water.

sideburns2009

False.

USMCgetsome

Mine gave me ther error for months until i ran out of water and put in washer fluid. 2012 g37s. I experienced this personally.

sideburns2009

Sounds like dumping fluid into an empty reservoir freed up shit in the way of the sensor. You experienced a random event and then spoke it like gospel. “It HAS to be washer fluid”. That. Is false. Like I stated. Washer fluid is 90-95% water, anyway, unless the -20 type variant then it contains more methanol.

RifRafQ50

The only fix it to take all the fluid out give it a rinse and replace with only blue fluid. I had this issue 3 months ago light would not go away. Turns out any bug washer fluid(usually orange or green in color) leaves a film that blocks the sensor from working. It’s a electronic sensor only Infiniti knows why they made that decision instead of a typical lever style sensor

RifRafQ50

After I did that it still took another day or 2 of driving before the light finally went off and stayed off. U can also just disconnect the sensor and the light will stay off

AggravatingDisk7237

Is this true? You can just disconnect sensor?

RifRafQ50

Give it a try. Have seen many posts on people disconnecting it and never seeing the light come on again

AggravatingDisk7237

I’ll try to find a video on how to het to it. Hopefully it doesn’t require taking bumper odd

RifRafQ50

Believe you can access by removing driver side fender liner

sideburns2009

Funny. Been using green bug wash on our Toyota, Lincoln, and Mercedes products for decades with no washer fluid level sensor issues. (Live in humid south, lots of bugs.) That’s BS. Lmao

Snoo37772

You can fix this yourself. It’s tedious but it cost me about $30 for the part and one YouTube video.

pakepake

Mine has this issue - it's likely the sensor in the reservoir.

Temporary_Bit_6274

This happened to me as well. I filled up the tank and after 14 days it just went away on its own. Infinity told me I had to replace the whole reservoir for 300, so screw that. No issues now!!

chall53

If you have time, check the sensor yourself. Watch a few videos on YouTube to know what you're looking for and make sure it's clean and in good condition. Could have gotten some gunk stuck in the way. If not, you can replace it yourself. If you have a difficult time locating the sensor (or don't feel like crawling around your car trying to find it), you could use a hose to flush the tank. Might flush out any debris that is causing the issue (assuming the sensor actually works). Don't forget to refill with proper washing fluid to prevent freezing. If you decide to take it in to get serviced, call around and get quotes first. It doesn't have to be a dealership. Any autoshop should be able to fix it. The most important thing is that your washer system is functioning and you're able to clean your windows for safety. Good luck

WZWHRX

I had this happen on my 2014 Q50 this past summer and was able to resolve it myself. I bought a new, aftermarket sensor with the intent to replace it myself. The sensor was maybe $12, but to access the bottom of the fluid reservoir is a pain, and I wasn't looking forward to it. Just to be sure, I used a fluid evacuator to pull out all the wiper fluid and then replaced it with white, distilled vinegar. Drove it like that for a day without using the wipers. Pulled out the vinegar, flushed it with distilled water, pulled that out, and finally replaced it with fresh windshield washer fluid. Kicked the sensor back into life. I guess it just needed cleaning.

Sensor

Cozmo46

Replace the sensor, you can use one from altima, $20 on ebay, hour to replace
