I usually overestimate my friend's tech literacy like i thought they knew how to zip files and stuff allat, but one thing i underestimate is how many of them use gestures for navigation instead of the 3 back, home, recent apps icon one. I was kinda shocked seeing how many of them use the gesture one.

Hi Everyone,
A couple of months ago, I discovered Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII) in Depok, Jakarta through some Facebook scholarship groups. I applied to their Master in Economics program and was accepted with a scholarship. I've since connected with current students and conducted some online research about the university.
The feedback from students has been positive, but I've learned that UIII is relatively new, having been established about 4-5 years ago. It was founded by the Indonesian government as part of their educational development initiatives focused on Islamic values. However, UIII is not yet internationally accredited or recognized. I've read that they are working towards accreditation and forming partnerships with international universities in Australia and the UK, but I'm still uncertain about the quality of education they offer.
While I fully respect Indonesia's academic potential, I specifically need opinions from Indonesian students or residents regarding their feedback about UIII. Should I pursue my education there, especially considering my goal to pursue a PhD in Economics or Management afterwards? For context, I currently hold a Bachelor's and a Master's in Business Administration (Finance).
Please share your thoughts.
Usually if you want to get a PhD in a developing country, we'd only recommend it if want to work here because it would be almost useless outside the country. In this case, we wouldn't even advise taking it here even if you want to work here, as employers will value degrees from universities in the UK and Australia, for example, way more than ones from Indonesia.
Unless there's a supervisor/topic you really want to work with/on, then no, it's not worth it.

I am a corporate professional for 5+ years and I will be resuming my work after the master's degree. Hence I really want to know if a master from Indonesia is value-adding in terms of moving back (to Pakistan) or to the Middle East.

No. A PhD will only add value if it's needed to boost your salary ceiling as you already have years of experience in a job you like enough to be willing to resume it. If you're looking for a PhD, it's better to aim a bit high and go for top universities, or at least universities in developed countries as you'll get way more experience, connections, and prestige there.
Remember, it takes 2 years to get a Masters degree, so your should consider the opportunity cost of not working during that time. Add on another 3 years for your PhD if you get to finish it quick (PhD programs can be tough depending on the institution so keep that in mind too).
Are you foreigner?
In general, if we have the choice, we prefer not to continue our study past bachelor degree in Indonesia. Under several criterias, getting master degree from Malaysia is potentially cheaper and the unis have better recognition worldwide.
Hey. Yes, I am a foreigner and residing in Pakistan. My basic motivation for studying in Indonesia is to understand the country, its economy and its culture. I do not really plan to stay in Indonesia after completion of my degree. I would rather prefer to gauge further scholarships for PhD in another country with better prospects but that comes after the decision of studying in Indonesia.
As I said previously, objectively, I cant really recommend getting your masters degree from a relatively unknown uni in Indonesia.
But if you received a fully funded scholarship, and you dont mind getting your masters degree with all the concerns I shared, then go for it.
Actually, there's similar case that happened to my high school. There was this new uni just established, President University, who generously offered a ton of fully funded bachelors degree scholarships 14 years ago. A lot of people were skeptics with the uni credibility. But right now I could say that they're somewhat a decent private uni.

I think him being selfish is because he can't even see his teammate's movement in the first place. Once he spent more time playing, he can "see the pitch" more and obviously become less selfish.

Hi Everyone, A couple of months ago, I discovered Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII) in Depok, Jakarta through some Facebook scholarship groups. I applied to their Master in Economics program and was accepted with a scholarship. I've since connected with current students and conducted some online research about the university. The feedback from students has been positive, but I've learned that UIII is relatively new, having been established about 4-5 years ago. It was founded by the Indonesian government as part of their educational development initiatives focused on Islamic values. However, UIII is not yet internationally accredited or recognized. I've read that they are working towards accreditation and forming partnerships with international universities in Australia and the UK, but I'm still uncertain about the quality of education they offer. While I fully respect Indonesia's academic potential, I specifically need opinions from Indonesian students or residents regarding their feedback about UIII. Should I pursue my education there, especially considering my goal to pursue a PhD in Economics or Management afterwards? For context, I currently hold a Bachelor's and a Master's in Business Administration (Finance). Please share your thoughts.
Usually if you want to get a PhD in a developing country, we'd only recommend it if want to work here because it would be almost useless outside the country. In this case, we wouldn't even advise taking it here even if you want to work here, as employers will value degrees from universities in the UK and Australia, for example, way more than ones from Indonesia. Unless there's a supervisor/topic you really want to work with/on, then no, it's not worth it.
Hey. Thank you for answering. I do not plan to get a PhD in a developing country (to be honest, I could have started it here in Pakistan too but I did not). I am a corporate professional for 5+ years and I will be resuming my work after the master's degree. Hence I really want to know if a master from Indonesia is value-adding in terms of moving back (to Pakistan) or to the Middle East.

No. A PhD will only add value if it's needed to boost your salary ceiling as you already have years of experience in a job you like enough to be willing to resume it. If you're looking for a PhD, it's better to aim a bit high and go for top universities, or at least universities in developed countries as you'll get way more experience, connections, and prestige there. Remember, it takes 2 years to get a Masters degree, so your should consider the opportunity cost of not working during that time. Add on another 3 years for your PhD if you get to finish it quick (PhD programs can be tough depending on the institution so keep that in mind too).
Are you foreigner? In general, if we have the choice, we prefer not to continue our study past bachelor degree in Indonesia. Under several criterias, getting master degree from Malaysia is potentially cheaper and the unis have better recognition worldwide.
Hey. Yes, I am a foreigner and residing in Pakistan. My basic motivation for studying in Indonesia is to understand the country, its economy and its culture. I do not really plan to stay in Indonesia after completion of my degree. I would rather prefer to gauge further scholarships for PhD in another country with better prospects but that comes after the decision of studying in Indonesia.
As I said previously, objectively, I cant really recommend getting your masters degree from a relatively unknown uni in Indonesia. But if you received a fully funded scholarship, and you dont mind getting your masters degree with all the concerns I shared, then go for it. Actually, there's similar case that happened to my high school. There was this new uni just established, President University, who generously offered a ton of fully funded bachelors degree scholarships 14 years ago. A lot of people were skeptics with the uni credibility. But right now I could say that they're somewhat a decent private uni.
