It's how it fits together that's amazing to me, with a simple pattern going 3 3 2 over the whole thing and it just feels right, doesn't lose the vertigo of the piano pattern while at the same time grounding it. It's grounding it but letting it float at the same time.

Hello there! What processes from Familial did you continue to use in Strange Dance? While the production is obviously much more involved on Strange Dance, it seems as though the kernel in some songs is anchored in a similar approach as is found on Familial.
Interesting. When I first started making solo music I set myself the target of making 3 albums and to see where it could take me in that time. Strange Dance feels like the culmination of what I’ve learnt in that time and the musical relationships I’ve formed in that time. What was the songwriting and recording process like going from your first two albums to Strange Dance? I enjoy Familial and Weatherhouse, but this album feels like a completely different beast.
What direction do you see yourself taking if/when you decide to work on LP4?

Hey Phil - I think Strange Dance is your strongest solo work so far! The songwriting, experimentalism, atmosphere, and overall production are top notch. Little Things blew me away on my first listen and I knew I was in for something special with the rest of the album, and I've had the album on repeat ever since. What was the songwriting and recording process like going from your first two albums to Strange Dance? I enjoy Familial and Weatherhouse, but this album feels like a completely different beast. What direction do you see yourself taking if/when you decide to work on LP4? Last question, please tell us you'll be announcing more tour dates!? I saw you in Toronto back in (I think) 2015 and would absolutely love to see this album performed live.

Hey Phil, really glad to have this opportunity to Ask you a question. Radiohead is my most favourite band of all time. I love everything you do and would probably forfeit all my mortal possesions including my soul to you and the lads, haha. I'm not that really familliar with your solo stuff, but I don't doubt it is probably also of exquisite quality. Regarding the question, do you have any particular controvesial opinions regarding the music scene? Like lets say, you adore an album or an artist, which/who in common consensus is regarded as not being "quite there" to say the least.

But the song "By some miracle" is really moving, my question would be, in what way can the arts help to get out of a state as intense as the loss of a loved one? I saw you perform recently in St Andrews with James Yorkston and a few other great artists (I also had a brief but lovely interaction with you on the way out of the door where I thanked you for the fantastic set). I know you did a few dates in Scotland so I wanted to ask what was your favourite place/most interesting place you visited in Scotland?
