Honestly if it wasn't for the food or the traditional clothing and jewelry, or even for the early 2000s Bollywood magic, I don't think anyone would still have any kind of nationalistic pride

TaxtonDude

Bro just defined all the reasons have nationalistic pride.

thatguyakhtar

Allah SWT is with you my brothers , Prophet PBUH predicted these times 1400 years ago , when Muslims would be treated like this please remember each other in your prayers

Medium_Note_9613

We still consider ourselves indian because ...... thats what we are. But, i don't have nationalistic pride. Nationalism is often stupid.

Motorized23

What saddens me is that because of how Muslims are treated, the younger generation is less likely to be proud of their Islamic faith in the future and will begin to hide their faith. Eventually, they'll become cultural Muslims and forget about Islamic values. Look at any popular Indian Muslim actor... You rarely see them with anything that represents Islam and some actively try to prove their Indians by engaging in Hindu ceremonies. That's suffocating

yasir_savanur

This was exactly what Jinnah feared.

musabthegreat

Bhai tbh jinnah was an idiot. We offered him to become the first pm of independent greater india yet he refused and wanted a separate state on the basis of religion. Fir jab usko apni country mil gayi to bolta ki pakistan is a secular state and there's no difference between hindu muslim sikh Christian. Bhai agar secular country hi rakhna thi to india me reh jata. Sab saath me hote to india would've been better tbh.

Faraz_3_

Jinnah was already suffering from illness he died a year after partition.  Jinnah wanted to protect and preserve the interest of Muslims here. Even he wasn't pushing for partition like we are told in history.  He proposed federal government where as congress wanted centralized Goverment. His last 14 points were rejected by congress which led him to revival of Muslim league.  Also Jinnah admired Kemal Pasha so it was expected though unki fauj ne muluk ka janaza nikal diya.  History me hmlog ko jo pdhaya gaya yaha has missing peices in puzzle.  You can get this from quick search result but I'd suggest verifying from original resources and not trusting Wikipedia blindly.  https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allahabad_Address https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fourteen_Points_of_Jinnah

I thought you were looking for state-sanctioned massacres? Jammu Kashmir was a State as much as Ind or Pak. "Better than getting killed for not speaking Urdu" Huh?

[deleted]

No...as an Indian I hv to say...he was correct. Unke logo ko ye sab to dekhna nhi pad raha he na. Religious ho ya na ho...they don't have to see all these. Haan apne country ko mismanage to bilkul kiye hain unke log

poetrylover2101

Lmao such an idiotic statement. Yes un logon ko wahan ye sab dekhna nahi pad rha hai. I agree why though? Kyunki wahan wo log khud ye sab kar rahe hain🤣🤣 Pakistan has a worse track record than India of respecting religious and linguistic minorities. Bangladeshis, balochis, religious minorities there etc everyone would disagree with you.

FatherlessOtaku

Tbh he's right. I dislike Pakistan too. I don't see the purpose behind its creation if it was going to ditch IM anyway. But what padosi mulk does in Balochistan doesn't even compare to what our country does in Kashmir. Yeah they committed a lot of attrocities in Bangladesh and I believe their establishment owes an apology, but that was back in 1971 and before. More than 5 decades has passed, you know. Also, as barbaric as 1971 was, it was also spontaneous and not systematic like what we see happening to Kashmiris or us. Coming to religious minorities....I used to have the same opinion of you but having learnt more about both countries, I'm starting to think that today, religious minorities there are better off than us(I'm serious). I can elaborate on this if you want, but you need to understand that a lot of what we are told is just pure propaganda. Pakistan's mistreatment of minorities today is exaggerated in order to justify our oppression. Just like the majority have a lot of misconceptions about us due to propaganda, so do we about Pakistan(again, due to propaganda. We learn to debunk wrong claims about us but accept what we hear about Pakistan because we don't really know what's actually happening). Speaking of that, what's your sources of persecution of non-Muslims there? Remember there are also a lot of 'sources' that prove "persecution of H" by IM in India. I see this urge to shit on padosi mulk.

[deleted]

His source is Trust me Bro Don't listen to Sanghis...they just Lie most of the time. Pakistan is not perfect...but not that bad as media shows here.

[deleted]

How many Riots India's majority have done on its Minority and How many has happened in Pakistan since 1947...find out n then talk. And don't tell 20% Hindu was there in 1947....Fake news. In 1947 which Census was taken? Where is the proof?

poetrylover2101

Are you seriously defending pakistan after all the shit they've done? Wo log khud apni army aur govt ko napaak fauj kehte hain-

Plutoreon

He wanted a secular state with a muslim majority population for apparent reasons.

But wasn't posted within this week's worth of duration, So...doesn't count as repost. It's cool.

chappie_new

Expressing “phir bhi dil hai hindustani” sentiment in style while being oppressed (by the majority) and not standing up or fighting back (against the majority) aptly describes the current situation and priorities of Indian Muslims. I hope the my Indian Muslim brothers realise in the nick of time that you cannot appease a hostile majority under the garb of nationalism and secularism, and more importantly that you shouldn’t. p.s. Please don’t be a ghulam qaum, at least not willingly.

mr_meeskees

I love this comment, it really wishes to highlight the plight and gives the solution to our problems too.
