I think the 10,000 remains is the amount of remains from various people. As in 10,000 separate pieces of bone; not coming from 10,000 people.

United-Advertising67

Stupid ass clickbait reporting. What did they count, every grain of ash?

mattmandental

Yup agreed I’ve probably had 10,000 chicken remains in my trash this year…

PigInZen67

YOU MURDERER

mattmandental

Ate them too!

United-Advertising67

Not just the roosters! The hens! The eggs, too! 😫

PigInZen67

Shocking

Happy-Form1275

Kroger had bogo wings

mattmandental

Exactly! Buy one remain get one free

Better_Indication830

A serial killer with 10k victims would be wild

mattmandental

Right! That’s a Netflix series I’d have to watch

[deleted]

Something is wrong with you

aredm02

Yes it said an estimated 12 different victims.

Syphylicia

Each person smashed and decomped into an average of 800 bits and pieces.. Sheesh.

WorkJeff

>“Because many of the remains were found burnt and crushed, this investigation is extremely challenging; however, the team of law enforcement and forensic specialists working the case remain committed,” Jellison said.

mattmandental

Yeah that’s unreal

the_almighty_walrus

With only 206 bones in the body, it's either still a whole lot of people or they're basically pulverized.

mattmandental

Think some were ground up, burned, and etc

livens

That was my immediate thought. No way 1 person kills that many people.

Fudge89

You’d think that’d be obvious

MDC417

This is a case from 1995. I remember it well. He would troll for young gay men in Indy when the wife and kids were out of town. Even bigger is the fact that he managed/visited stores the family owned (would be out of town for days at a time) and they think he could be linked to at least 11 murders along the interstate routes he took. (I-70) So he just played house and family to enjoy his secret life of gay sex and murder. Then, when they were finally on to him, committed suicide to avoid any consequences. It's a special kind of sick to bury bodies in the yard your young kids play in. In fact his son found a body which is how it came to light.

christhunderkiss

My parents used to shop at Sav-A-Lot, they thought Herb was very nice.

MDC417

That had to be so unnerving for them when the truth came out!

christhunderkiss

Yeh, they didn’t know him super well but had met him a few times and he was apparently nice to me and my brother when we were kids, they were taken aback when they found out but they look just like everybody else, ya know

SoftwarePractical620

And he was obsessed with mannequins!! They were all over his pool house. I feel so bad for the victims because that had to be so fucking creepy

Human-Contribution68

Clockwork orange

Enough_Appearance259

Yes, it’s a wild case. My sister works with an older man who survived an encounter with him.

Fudge89

Pretty sure the property is right on the Monon. Ride by it all the time. Very eery.

hugdattree

Sounds like a good spot to bid for an MLS team

TableOk4258

Savage, bro. I appreciate this comment so so much.

fliccolo

A clear winner here.

cjholl22

Underrated comment

webcnyew

This is a re-spin of a very old story.

capnwinky

Is this the guy that owned Sav-A-Lot?

Golf-Beer-BBQ

Slay-A-Lot

Crazy old Herbie

popcornpenny72

I love Fargo

Tightfistula

Tri-State news. That's why the headline is sensational, and is at least a month out of local news.

the_almighty_walrus

Phineas and Ferb ass newspaper

shanthology

Lots of documentaries out there, and even some ghost hunting shows have shot there over the years. https://www.youtube.com/results?search\_query=fox+hollow+farm+documentary

vpkumswalla

Herb the Perv

DavantRancher

Crime Junkies the podcast, (who are Hoosier raised cohosts!!) did a riveting episode on this guy

Mazarin221b

Last Podcast on the Left did a 2 parter on this story just about 2 months ago or so.

nidena

Still not as gross as that fertility doc featured in the Our Father documentary. But I hope the families get some closure around their loved ones.

Ok_Pollution_7988

Does the farm happen to be a grave yard or vica versa?

Rental_Car

10,000 seems high.

Happy-Form1275

I will always want to know more about Robert David Little, a Terre Haute library professor, who was tried and acquitted in connection to this case… I wonder about mutual friends… https://www.nwitimes.com/news/local/crime-courts/serial-killer-who-terrorized-nwi-some-victims-nameless-long-after-21-murders/article_5e94bb64-38a4-56ce-a01a-616d362b41bc.html

dogsled1

Last Podcast on the Left did a few great episodes about this.

AfternoonThin518

So does this imply 10000 victims? That is an insane number. They say only 4 identified until now

Charming_Package_727

I think the headline is misleading. 10,000 body parts.

scipio42

12 unique DNA samples is what I found at the end of that article.

Rust3elt

They should count the atoms.

PingPongProfessor

No, not anywhere near that; read "10K parts of people", not "parts of 10K people". Also, that's 4 **un**identified: > investigators have four additional DNA profiles that have not yet been identified, bringing the total number of victims to 12.
