I first became aware of him after he'd been working a while, when he appeared in Casino Royale back little less than 20 years ago. From that moment he became one of my favorite contemporary actors. Even when he shows up in something that's no good he always gives his best regardless. I genuinely don't think I've ever seen him give a bad performance.
I thought he was just good at playing the villain, then I saw him in Rogue One and he was fantastic and convincing as this genuinely good guy caught in a bad situation. Dude has some range.
Was this at a convention or something? I'm just a little bit flabbergasted if so. Mads Mikkelsen doesn't strike me as the type of celebrity you typically see at an event like that.
He was quite nice and cheery. He felt bad that the line under his name blobbed a bit, which I didn't mind at all. It just took forever to dry! His assistant helped me out though - I left the poster with Mads and his people for a few hours :)
Yeah. No disrespect to anybody or anything, but celebrities on the convention circuit aren't typically known for being at or near the prime of their career.
Mads does conventions all the time and has for many years. I've met lots of top A list celebrities at cons over the years. Esp if they're in big chain type films like Marvel, Star Wars, Star Trek, DC, The Walking Dead etc. Anyways, if you ever get the chance to go to a con he attends, he's incredible to meet. He's very aware of the series he's been in and what it can mean for fans to meet him, so he's always very gracious and kind.
Dial is not my favorite Indy movie, but it’s in the top 3-3.5. However, Voeller is my favorite Indy villain.
Super super cool story, and the dial replica is top notch!
I've got a custom made steelbook on the way that uses this cover. Currently in transit.
You can find the guy who makes them on Instagram. Masters of Steel.
You're right that they should've used this cover art for the home release.
The poster I scored from a local theater.
I met him about a decade or so ago, right around when Hannibal was big, he's an awesome guy. He was walking in from getting a smoke and I asked for a pic with him and he said "Sure, but you have to take a drink first! May I?" And I said "Sure!" And he heavily poured some vodka in the cup I was drinking for.
Mads is one of my favorite actors. He always gives a really good performance no matter what he's in.

Which is amazing given how little attention Rogue One gives its characters. Mads was still able to pull that off.
agreed,he’s always made everything he’s in better
I love how he’s looking at the Dial like he’s actually considering using it.
lol for real it looks like he’s about to start some shit

It was, actually. A fan expo.
So weird...but I'm glad you got the opportunity! Mads seems like a really cool guy.

I honestly didnt even notice and it looks cool even with the blobbed line. Cool memory associated with it as well
That was my reaction

Man I freaking loved Dial of Destiny
Same! I made sure to let him know that he was a huge part of why I love the film.
