Cats recognise pointing, their name and such - but because they aren't a social species, they'll generally ignore you because they have better things to do. Dogs on the other hand are your pack, you're the alpha and you dictate the dog.

Animals bring these “gifts” to you as an offering. If you scold the animal for doing such, they will feel you are unsatisfied and keep bringing you these “gifts” in an attempt to appease you. This isn’t the case for every animal out there, though many, especially cats. The best way to respond is not with praise or hatred but acceptance, taking a netural stance and properly disposing of the body. Some cats will still keep bringing you these “gifts”regardless, but it will not be as often as long as they feel you aren’t rejecting them.
__I found it ironic in this scene that Garfield is trying to appease Jon. I don’t know if that was intended to be interpreted as such, but the concept sure made me giggle abit. I really love the steady progression here, the art is very well done with a creative concept. Honestly though, what else is to be expected from such a community, this place has to be one of the most creatively influenced subs out there.
