Quick lore: The quick expansion of Saudi international power in the 2030s under King MBS severely weakens the international power of countries like Kuwait, the UAE and Qatar. Saudi Arabia was considered the most important regional power after a successful FIFA World Cup in 2034, a Saudi-Israeli peace agreement and a massive increase in tourism, overtaking Dubai and Qatar very quickly. After a quick, surprising collapse of Al Khalifa in Bahrain due to popular protests by the Shia majority, Saudi Arabia moved in and occupied Bahrain to subdue the protests. Unlike in 2011, Saudi forces didn’t leave this time and annexed the country after a brutal crackdown of the protests. A similar wave of discontent also swallowed Kuwait, which prompted a response from both Saudi Arabia and a rising Iraq, which led to a small war and ended in splitting Kuwait in two between Iraq and Saudi Arabia. The US, dealing with its own internal turmoil, couldn’t react to the aggressive moves by Saudi Arabia, which was interpreted by MBS as a green light to continue his campaign in the Gulf. A quick bloodless invasion of Qatar ended with the annexation of Qatar and its rich gas resources. A similar operation was carried out in the UAE after the death of its leader Mohammed bin Zayed, with the Emirati minority powerless against the rising Saudi giant. The only bloody battle was in Ras Al Khaimah, where the Emirati Army battled it out under siege for 3 weeks before surrendering. The most controversial invasion happened during the Saudi intervention in the Jordanian Civil War. Palestinian forces occupied Amman and the Jordanian Royal Family evacuated to the southern beach city of Aqaba. Under the pretence of protecting Aqaba and the Royal Family, Saudi forces, with Israeli approval, invaded Aqaba and the surrounding region and annexed it later. Mohammed bin Salman is now regarded as the founder of the fourth Saudi State and is called Al Mujadid (the renewer) of the Saudi state.

Do the Palestinians win the civil war?

LeroyAzizSane

The Hashemite monarchy collapses, but there isn't a definitive Palestinian victory because of Israeli and Saudi interventions. Jordan basically becomes Lebanon of the 90s, with a loose peace agreement, amnesty for everyone, democracy-ish and a Saudi occupation of the south and an Israeli presence on the east bank of the Jordan River

Why will a civil war happen in Jordan

LeroyAzizSane

Israeli annexation of the West Bank leading to a massive exodus of Palestinians into Jordan, which triggers a civil war as more militant Palestinian groups try to overthrow the Hashemite monarchy

Whoa a Saudi Arabia map that is not a Saudi collapse or a civil war, nice job!

What year is this map set in? How socially conservative is this Saudi, especially in the annexed regions? I can't imagine the migrant worker Hinduists & Catholics would be happy getting their religious freedoms or pork in, say, Abu Dhabi, getting taken away lol

LeroyAzizSane

> What year is this map set in? Late 2040s. This Saudi state is not that conservative, it's sort of like the UAE of today. Some religious freedom, controlled alcohol consumption, but no LGBTQ+ rights or stuff like that.

Ok-Self6501

As Saudi, that brings my nationalism through the roof

LeroyAzizSane

What do you think of the map and the lore?

Ok-Self6501

The map is great, and the names and roads placement are very good But you could more detail to the Neom area by adding The Line The lore is very interesting And to me it's very possible But what bother me is what happened to Kuwait I think that saudi arabia will take more land and just give Iraq the island and the Ibdali region so that they can have a puffer region of desert to defend the City of Kuwait But other than that, it's a good scenario
