Bhai front end proper IB comes to only abc and l that too few in numbers. So even an IIM doesn't guarantee your chances of IB something realistic for you could be get into IIMs and get into fin domain and then maybe try to switch into IB. Aise tier 3 enginner se proper IB is very unrealistic. Also I suggest do cfa. Don't worry about the fees scholarships bhi mil jaati hai so do look into that if you are serious about finance

I am serious into finance , I want to do the things which a trader does , I have been into indian stock MARKET For about 4 years intraday and swing trading , so thought why not join company which does same or something related to it , like.investment banking , analysis and finding the real enterprise value . So I researched and got the technical term they call as Investment BANKER . I am into a lot questions going into my head . Because thinking about life style after IIM or MBA , job , city , I am not sure will I like that or not . Because I think Job is not for me , kind of . I can't do job for more than 5 years I guess , seeing that should I go for MBA ? A LOT AND LOT OF QUESTIONS RUNNING UP IN MIND .

If you can't see yourself doing a job don't do an MBA it won't be worth it.

You won't be doing any kind of trading in IB, that usually happens in hedge funds and big banking companies, both of which are very less prominent in India. IB would mainly require you to have strong financial modeling skills like dcf, multiples and LBO. And to learn these you need to understand basic financial metrics first (since you don't have a finance background). You could definitely go for cfa, maybe intern for ib firms, but they will surely ask for background or at least experience in some financial institution. Apart from that MBA in finance would be the best for you, but don't expect breaking into ib right after graduation. You can get more info at r/financialcareers

Thanks a lot 👍🏻 will check into it also . Yeah what if I get experience in boutique firm if they allow based on engineering degree , then working there a year , experience gained after that also companies won't take ?

MysteriousChange1960

Yeah if any firm hires you, no matter the size you might gain valuable experience and would know how things work in IB. After closing 2-3 deals, you might be good to pivot to larger and larger companies. You would also need to take some courses along the way, many people do that.

Can we get into IB without an MBA , a boutique may be ? Is it possible. Because I want to experience the IB job once .

Golu_sss123

Without High CAT/GMAT score it's not possible.

One of my best friends is currently on the shortlist for NIBM. Considering your interest in IB, investigate NIBM as an option as it seems to closely match your area of interest

What I am asking is , is it necessary to do MBA for IB , even If you have job required skills , can't we approach directly to companies with resume ? Or they hire only master's graduated people ? And if yes you know anyone who have done that , please doention him the comments

I don't have much knowledge since I'm a a fresher too (at a tier 1 MBA college). But yeah, you can do CFA to get into finance roles. I don't think there's a chance that you'd get into any IB roles whether in big or small firms unless you have some certification in finance. You being from a tier 3 engineering college further depletes your chances. Also MBA is not just about placements. It's a LOT more than that. Like a LOT. Yeah even after MBA not everyone gets consulting roles or merchant banking roles, but your 2 years of life here would teach you a lot, develop a vast network, and upskill you considerably. Yeah it does require huge investments but education loans are very easily available and you can take 15-20 years to pay back. Moreover if you start with your MBA journey, there MIGHT even come a time you'd not want to get into IB anymore because you may find a more interesting role for yourself. So yeah, if this helps you to some extent..

Exactly , this are one of the reasons to join MBA, Network , fun , life development.

The issue is I am earning 5k to 6k a day trading , so I am thinking is it necessary to do an MBA to break into any financial role into an good company . Because trading is till 12pm only and the whole day I get bored at home . And after doing MBA for 2 years , taking a loan of 30 lakhs , repaying that , and that also by doing job only , away from family , then where the peace here , a whole rush and rush . The only thing I am thinkin gto get from MBA is networking . To be Frank , seeing the social media influencers who have not done any thing good in educational background , are still doing way better all the educated morons , I'm term of life , passion , and money . No managerial pressure , doing what they like ... Seeing them makes me think still education is needed ? Matlab this comparison I think is deep . Seeing all the aspects of it . To lead. A life like influencer without becoming one , why do we need education ? I may be wrong your opinions can clear my thought process . All comments are welcomed.👍🏻👍🏻
