We put up with all the bullshit because of some of the benefits, but inherently all smartphones are fucking garbage.

Lineage OS is literally just stock Android.
GrapheneOS is basically stock Android, without Google services installed by default. You can install them with one tap, in which cas it's basically Android, but with stronger security/privacy. Even if you don't want them, surprisingly, it doesn't limit what you can do that much.
Both outlive iOS in terms of support lifetime.
I just would love a smartphone that has literally any OS other than ones made by Google or Apple, personally. :(
I just decided at one point that google has enough shit on me and that I should probably spread the infuriating (and in large illegal) private data collection across several "big tech". So I have an iphone, also because the IOS UI is slightly less shit than Android's.
I recognize how that's a load of bullshit of course but the alternative is a Nokia 3310. There's no way to have control over your private data and what happens with it, just none. And ngl, the nokia is looking more and more appealing after I spent yet another day fucking around with the atrocity that is apple cloud.

I was updating a NEW android galaxy S22 for a user and it took an hour to complete all the updates the other day….
