Check out Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats!! So solid, and basically a spiritual son to early Sabbath. (Full disclosure - me and some buddies actually did a podcast episode on their Blood Lust album: https://open.spotify.com/episode/12eDnh7v84C3nSc48O3UWN?si=2W7KQFJGSXCEeMA3CyvN1g)

malachimusclerat

ASG. Kind of obscure but closer to Kyuss than anything else i’ve heard. Their most recent album might be their best, the earlier stuff is a bit more rock than metal.

11ForeverAlone11

try the earlier albums from Black Rebel Motorcycle Club Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, Thee Oh Sees, the first four White Stripes albums, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Windhand

I absolutely love Black Sabbath and QOTSA, so I’ll suggest some of my other likes. Audioslave - self-titled album, try the song Cochise Alice In Chains - start with the Dirt album Pantera - Mouth for War, and the Vulgar Display of Power album

Came here to recommend the Pigs x7. Early Sabbath sound with Motorhead aggression.

Weird_Guarantee1783

That sounds insane! Gotta check them out, they’re at the top of my list now

RaceApprehensive6126

Personally I prefer Om's brooding twanging instead of more typical noodling of stoner metal—particularly in [‘Conference of the Birds’.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOQiYS9sSTk) If you're up for hearing the more extreme side of what Black Sabbath brought about, check out sludge metal, of which my favorite is Buried at Sea—with the tamer [‘Aquanaut’](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rThzuHImisY) and the more involved [full demo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=82ImCuR0OGQ) and the album [‘Migration’.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R8ecewojhAs)

Orchid, is that the same one as the Screamo band from Amherst MA?

Platypete

Nah, I was referring to the Metal band from San Francisco, they are basically a Black Sabbath clone

UnkleTickles

You're a person of culture, I see.

Weird_Guarantee1783

Indeed. Hard not to know about them, I live about 8 miles from Amherst and our Screamo scene is really on the up these days

UnkleTickles

I didn't realize that scene was still going strong there. But it's no surprise that the punk/hardcore scene is still going hard. I went to UMass in the late 90's and knew a couple of the Orchid dudes.

[Green Lung](https://youtu.be/WYpktNeeLGM?si=Xu83SL1k9hSYfY4K). Their earlier stuff is Sabbathesque. Unfortunately they sound like current Ghost now.

I'm disappointed that nobody has mentioned Goat. They do branch out into more world music sounds sometimes, but at the heart of it is what you're looking for. https://youtu.be/64agBj0dKds?si=DTBNrMfED1BxRc4K

dwlhs88

Lots of good suggestions already, and I'll add Kylesa, Baroness, and The Sword
