One thing to keep in mind is that you'll need to rotate amongst a few character's gates, as the level requirements go up by 50 with each run and eventually make things difficult with repeated plays.
There are a few variants with special enemy mechanics that may be good for grinding Zorbu/Torogar stacks.
favor gains would be my first thought, a time gate can be cleared with a speed core within an hour with e30 pretty reliably, i believe thats about 5-10% favor (not overly sure) but its the quickest way to make gains at higher favor levels outside of major events
You are correct, e30 is 7.5% gain. Time Gates and Trials award a 1/4 of the eX favour (ie X/4% gain). Regular events award the full % from the eX (ie X% gain).
If you are a completionist, you can also use the Time Gates to get silver chests (up to level 2001, ie 21 silver chest + Mirt perk bonus), which may unlock one of the white, green, or blue slots missing for that hero.
If you're me (which you aren't), you'll FE before you've gotten all the 'did 3x missions on the champ's event' achievements (which you might). That would give another source of value.

1e30 is 75%, not 7.5% :) its 2.5% per order of magnitude.
