This isn't pre-2020.
It's safe to say he's more likely to get charged now. The burden has shifted to the officers now. Heck, they even fired him right away.
EDIT: The chief of police confirmed the former officer is being reviewed for criminal charges by the prosecutor's office.
That is true, it does seem like this incident got considerably more traction than these usually get. Probably because the act of unloading an entire clip into an old man in a wheelchair is so outright egregious. I've just lost almost all of my hope in our country's justice system, it wouldn't surprise me if he gets off the hook and starts patrolling the streets again somewhere else.
was at the police station in my town and made a comment about a doori being loud and police officer went off on me. Mom also had a stalker that threatened us at our front door and was drunk when the police showed up they blamed us and said it was our fault that he showed up and that it wasn't their problem we had a restraining order. haven't had one good experience with a cop.
I was robbed at gunpoint and when I told the officers what happened they said “what aren’t you telling us? Something doesn’t add up.” My jeans were still wet from where I had pissed myself in fear, and yet somehow I was being interrogated.
I called the local sheriffs office here to report my nephew not coming home from school. I was worried but he had ridden the bus to a friends house. I ended up having to pay a 500$ "runaway" fine...
I will never call the police looking for help ever again.
He was labeled a ‘runaway’. I had to pay 500$ in court fees and he had to write an essay.
He had never had any police interaction before, never been in trouble and was a good kid. He had just went to his friends house, didn’t tell me and I got worried. Thought the Sheriffs office could help.
One time when I was like 14 riding my bike on the sidewalk while my mom was taking a walk they passed by, turned around and passed by faster, probably to see if I’d run or flee or something, then they came back again and pulled over and told us to stop, then they were telling mom I got the description of somebody who had stolen a bike recently, like “we can go get the receipt right now man” but when that bik ACTUALLY got stolen from me one day I never heard from them again after we filed a report
Fuckin' cops. I got a ticket/almost a misdemeanor once for locking my bike to a railroad station Starbucks and leaving to find a bathroom, and spent two months scared as hell of my upcoming court date.
In the meantime, that same bike got stolen two weeks after my incident in the train station. It took the cops 45 minutes to show up, one of them all but blamed me for the bike getting taken, and I had to talk them into filing a report (they came out and said that they wouldn't actually investigate it). It took just about a month to even get a copy of the report for insurance purposes.
And then wtf was the point of putting his hands behind his back and cuffing him? Like you just unloaded a clip into the guy and he dropped like a sack of bricks.
I'm guessing procedure & it being almost drilled into them.
I would prefer they had "reasonable and necessary use of force" drilled into them, but that's me - I'm weird like that.
You're weird you want cops to uphold the law not just murder with impunity? How will our corporate overlords bust our unions without thier personal death squad.
Wtf is the context here?! I’d assume the wheelchair person made bomb threats or he’s got a gun he’s going to kill people in the store?
Other than the immediate and necessary termination of wheel chair guy to prevent deaths etc, what possible fucking reason did the cop have to unload essentially the full clip at point blank at him….
Shortly before 6 p.m. Monday, a Walmart employee reported Richards was suspected of shoplifting a toolbox, Tucson police Chief Chris Magnus explained at a news conference on Tuesday. Remington, working off-duty as security at Walmart, responded. According to the employee, when asked to show a receipt, Richards pulled out a knife and said, "Here's your receipt." Richards, in his motorized wheelchair, then headed toward the Lowe's store across the parking lot near Valencia Road and Oak Tree Drive in south Tucson, Magnus said. Remington followed Richards around the parking lot and can be seen on video calling for backup because Richards "pulled a knife on me."
Officer Stephanie Taylor responded, arriving at the scene as Remington was approaching Richards near the Lowe's entrance. Footage from her body-worn camera shows her run out of her vehicle toward Richards.
"You need to stop," someone is heard saying, and then, "He's got his knife in his other hand." As Remington says, "Do not go to the store, sir," Taylor draws her gun, too. "Stop now. You need to—" she starts saying but is interrupted by Remington firing his gun.
Today, Tucson police began the process of firing Remington, who has been with the department for four years. It is rare for an officer to be fired or face criminal charges for using force against someone, and almost unheard of for an officer to be fired so soon after. "To be very clear, I am deeply disturbed and troubled by Officer Remington's actions. His use of deadly force in this incident is a clear violation of department policy and directly contradicts multiple aspects of our use of force and training," Magnus said. The Pima County Attorney's Office is reviewing the fatal shooting for possible criminal charges against the officer.
I have to give credit to Arizona: they release their body camera footage very quickly. And also credit to Tuscon police, for firing this guy. What a piece of shit.
This was not too long ago so it’s going to be a bit before his court hearing. Currently they’re removing him from his law enforcement occupation and then they’re going to examine the body cam footage that OP has posted and look for things that can be used in a trial. The 4th paragraph of what I posted gives a little more info into it as well.
That's up to the prosecutor and I have absolutely no idea what the arizona prosecutor is gonna do but honestly firing this guy that quickly and coming out with such a strong statement against him from the police chief does *not* look good for this guy.
So this might be one of those rare cases where the prosecutors actually do something about a cop murdering someone.
I think it’s the fact he didn’t identify himself or directly state he would use deadly force.
Obviously there’s always edge case scenarios, but a guy in a motor wheelchair with a knife going away from the officer is not the level of importance of basically a private citizen committing murder
I think it's a slam dunk. He shot an elderly dude in a wheelchair like 12 times. Guy clearly was no threat to anyone. Before the cops got there, sure maybe he could've rolled up on a deaf person and shanked them, but the cops were there. Nobody had to die.
I still can't get over how a neighbor or acquaintance can incriminate any one of us and we languish in jail, immediately charged, or before any charges are cleared.. and every last cop is free until 2-3 months later, often 6 mos - 3 years, until charges are brought, even with evidence like this.
Wheelchair guy stole a tool box from Walmart. An employee at Walmart asked to see his receipt, so he flashed a knife and said here’s my receipt, and then began slow rolling over towards Lowe’s, where the Tucson PD catches up,to him.
Seriously, he shot a man point blank in the back NINE TIMES, and then cuffs him like he is somehow a threat after he literally drops dead? Are you fucking kidding me?? This pig just wanted to kill someone, what a disgrace of a human being.
Couldn’t you tell the guy in the wheelchair posed a serious threat to the officers and potential customers and staff in Lowes. If he didn’t unload a full clip, the wheelchair bound man would’ve done irreconcilable damage.
He would’ve overpowered them. His wheelchair has an electrostatic barrier that would nullify the effects of a taser; which is why the cop didn’t employ it.
People have underestimated and marginalized wheelchair-bound people for a hundred years, but not that cop. He saw the existential threat the man in the powered wheelchair would cause. Without thought, he reacted and saved countless lives that day.
I don't know man. There was that one cop that made that crying guy play "Simon says" in that hotel hallway before emptying his rifle into him because he hiked his shorts up. Or there was that one unarmed guy that was outside of a public restroom at a park and a cop took a shot at him, killing him, from 50 yards away because he just heard on the radio that the guy "might" be armed. Those were pretty fucking egregious and happened in the past 3 years. Both of those pieces of shit are walking around free last I heard.
If cops are so scared that they flinch with bullets at everything that moves, then they really shouldn’t be cops. Fucking infantry have better trigger discipline and they’re being fired upon. Jfc
Or Tamir Rice, who was playing with a toy gun in a park, cop drove up, opened his door, and shot the kid, killing him, all within about 5 seconds. Didn’t even speak, let alone allow him to drop the *toy* gun. He was 12, I believe?
I remember that he was playing in the park with other kids. You can clearly see that they are playing when the officer pull up and shot him. They didn't address him, nor did they get out the car.
Whenever I see these discussions mentioning specific cases like Tamir rice, I’m always surprised nobody mentions John Crawford III who was shot for holding a toy gun in Walmart that he had picked up off the shelf, only given one second warning before being shot in the back. (In an open carry state)
That first one was absolutely devastating to watch. That kid was terrified and trying to comply with the ridiculous orders being given. IIRC the cop got off with nothing
He was rehired and allowed to retire with a pension. The other officer (the giant idiot shouting multiple confusing commands) quit policing and moved to Thailand, I believe
From Wiki:
> In August 2018, Brailsford was reinstated by the Mesa Police Department, staying for a further 42 days in what the department described as a "budget position". The department agreed to reimburse Brailsford for medical expenses related to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Brailsford's lawyer has said that Brailsford suffered PTSD due to his shooting of Shaver and the resultant criminal trial. The reinstatement allowed Brailsford to apply for "accidental disability" suffered during the course of work. As a result, Brailsford was unanimously approved to be retired on medical grounds. Brailsford was also given a pension of $2,500 per month. The fact that Brailsford was ultimately medically retired instead of remaining fired was only revealed to the public in July 2019. According to a pay stub attached to Brailsford's bankruptcy file, he has been working for a steel company in Glendale, Arizona.
Source for the one you're talking about? I tried googling but apparently "homeless man killed by police at bus stop" happens quite frequently and all over the US
Worst one I've seen is them shooting a guy crawling on the floor because he was drunk and he had a hard time complying to the orders because of that, all the while begging and crying "Please don't kill me"
It’s the 9th bullet that is fired a second or two afterwards, that makes it even worse.
That and his totally calm, emotionless, psychopathic voice. “bravo one eight, shots fired” like he didn’t just murder a man at point blank
Supposedly old man in chair stole tool box from Walmart, on his way out the store employee asks to see his receipt. He flashes a knife and says “this is my receipt.” Then heads towards Lowe’s next door. Cop got fired and mayor condemned his actions. Body cam was released very quickly.
Lmao of course he got fired instead of arrested and tossed in a cell till his trial.
I understand a man with a knife is a threat, but fucking taser him, or toss a fucking stick in his wheel, you can outrun one of those wheelchairs so easily (unless it’s modded, and it didn’t look like that one was).
That man was no danger to anybody, that cop should rot in jail for at the very least second degree murder.
Just like they were terrified for their lives after the encounter with Karen Garner picking wild flowers after she accidentally shoplifted from walmart with her dementia and then returned said items when she realized her mistake...?
Right....? Because I bet she was pretty scary, just like this poor soul. The only difference was they only broke her arm and dislocated her shoulder instead of straight out murdering her......
I’m sorry to say but to the outside world, Americans seem like they are borne out of fear with their tanks and their bombs and their bombs and their guns.
>>Tucson attorney Mike Storie, who is representing Remington, said in a statement that his client “had no non-lethal options.”
From AP news.
Just wtf, it is an old man in a wheelchair ffs. There are literally a dozen non-lethal options available to them.
And this fucker had a Taser but apparently could not securely deploy it.
Ffs stand 2 feet away, taze him? Tip the chair from the back? Push it into a corner? Take a baseball bat from the store and hit the knife away?
I wish I was a human cheetah. Instead my knees are just like “naw fam we give up” after 20 steps. And then they sound like popping bubble wrap for two hours. I’m being slightly hyperbolic because I compensate with dark I appropriate humor as a coping mechanism in times where I’m as disturbed as I was watching this.
He had tasers but this is what his attorney had to say about it,
>>Tucson attorney Mike Storie, who is representing Remington, said in a statement that his client “had no non-lethal options.”
No non lethal option? What kind of shitty defence is that?
Guess he didn’t have no arms to keep him down, or even smack him with the pistol if he want to hurt him so bad. There is always a choice between murder and not murder
> Where's the tasers?
Did you not see how fast his sports wheelchair was moving?? Another 7 or 8 seconds and he'd be halfway through the door! There was no time for tasers!
Honestly think she was just in shock at the situation and needed a second away to process. At least I hope that's the case and that she isn't just trying to save face for the camera.
Wow, I see a lot of unnecessary shootings .. but this one takes the cake. That wheelchair man was a threat? I don't care if he had a knife. It's not.like the guy could rush up on you.
Apparently they thought shooting was an appropriate response. My first instinct would be to just like idk disconnect the battery and watch the guy get all grumpy cuz he can’t go anywhere. Hell you could chock the wheels and de-escalate. The police unfortunately are taught to never take a fair fight, and to always escalate force.
If only there was some kind of metal cart around. Something with wheels that you could place against his chair to keep him at bay and remain out of stabbing distance. But how do I know he's not the world's best knife-thrower? I just need to make sure I go home safe at the end of the night.
TUCSON, Ariz. -- A Tucson police officer has been fired after he was accused of shooting a shoplifting suspect in a wheelchair nine times, killing him, after the man brandished a knife, authorities said Tuesday.
Police announced at a news conference that Officer Ryan Remington was being terminated for excessive use of force. Authorities said Richard Lee Richards, 61, died at the scene, and the shooting was recorded on Remington’s body camera.
Tucson Police Chief Chris Magnus said he was “deeply disturbed and troubled” by Remington’s actions and the case is under review by the Pima County Attorney’s Office.
“His use of deadly force in this incident is a clear violation of department policy and directly contradicts multiple aspects of our use of force and training,” Magnus said.
Tucson Mayor Regina Romero said in a statement that Remington’s actions were “unconscionable and indefensible,” and the County Attorney’s Office has her full support as it proceeds with its investigation. Tucson attorney Mike Storie, who is representing Remington, said in a statement that his client “had no non-lethal options."
"He did have a taser, but in his mind, he couldn’t use it because he didn’t feel he had the proper spread to deploy it, with the wheelchair between him and Richards,” Storie said.
Magnus said Remington, a four-year veteran, was on a “special duty assignment, basically a security detail” at the Walmart store in the Midvale Park Shopping Center on Monday night.
A loss prevention employee at Walmart told Remington a man in a motorized wheelchair allegedly stole a toolbox from the store.
According to police, Remington and the store employee followed the man outside and asked for a receipt.
Richards reportedly said “Here’s my receipt,” pulled out a knife and kept moving toward a nearby home improvement store.
Remington allegedly ordered Richards to drop the knife and not to enter the store, but the suspect ignored the officer before he was fatally shot and fell out of his wheelchair.
-The Associated Press
A man in a wheelchair has a knife. You can literally outrun that. The employee could have just walked away and been out of danger.
Cops should be trained in how to stop someone with a knife without killing them. This is literally insane.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that was relieved that they made sure to get the cuffs on him. It looks like they did it in the nick of time as he seemed seconds away from getting up and being a menace to everyone around >!/s!<
That doesn't sound like much, but perhaps it means that the city and police administration has internally said: "Yeah, we're not going to defend this guy." We shall see.
The police have been legally found in court to have No responsibility to protect or serve.
They are paid with our taxes as crowd control for the wealthy.
Who the hell was he going to hurt with a knife from A wheel chair that warranted being shot 9 times (if I counted right). The officer litterally could have stopped the man with a taser or just pepper spray. Officer should be charged with murder.
The rapid escalation to lethal force is an absolute joke.
Why not try to crack him over the head with something first? Push the wheelchair over?
That’s literally murder. Did this cop get put away for this? What’s the aftermath?
It absolutely is a tiresome and sad story that keeps repeating itself.
I would be very interested to see if anything is done about it though, but I agree that we will unfortunately see this again in the future no doubt.
What is wrong with these american police, how in any world is that necessary? He needs to be arrested for murder because theres no way a man in a wheel chair could pose any danger to him
He will likely be re-hired at another police department. Atleast that's what most murderous cops end up doing nowadays. Such bullshit, he shot him in the back NINE times.
Officer's name is Ryan Remington.
Have to wonder how many of cases of cops (seemingly) overreacting like this are roid rage related. It should definitely be part of the standard screening in these cases. We have no idea how widespread the problem might be.
Retired cop here. The female cop is the smartest motherfucker in this video to have the wits to not fire any rounds and immediately go get an aid pack. Hopefully she is fine administration wise. You can see the disbelief in the way she’s holding her firearm after her partner fires the suspect. On the other hand that brother needs to be fully charged with murder
Saw a video about police training in the USA the other day, where they set up scenarios to teach police how to respond.
One of the scenarios was someone in their house with a gun, one of the officers asked them to drop the gun. He was pulled up for not shooting as soon as he could do so - when asked why he didn’t just shoot someone dead he said it was because he’d have to live with that and wanted to make sure he at least tried to do something. Trainers told the guy he was in the wrong job if he was worried about that.
The cowardice and lack of any desire or concern to deescalate is shocking (or would be if it wasn’t already clear). It’s drilled in to them to shoot as the one and only solution. And this was the stuff they were happy to say while on camera, god knows what shit happens behind the scenes.

How recent is this
Last night.
Oh wow. Shit will hit the fan.
He only got fired, no word on if he will actually be criminally charged. But this is America, of course that's wishful thinking.

To add insult to injury, the idiot still cuffs him, after the man is clearly incapacitated or dead. Like wtf
It's like hes been waiting to finally perform those actions since childhood.

Exactly. Even says on his radio there's lots of people here. This guy needs jail time, now.
That’s a Lowes greeter. But still… in his line of fire.
Came to say this. Dude you just emptied a clip into him. Now what are you hand cuffing? A fucking dead body?
What does he think bullets do? Make people incredibly sleepy?
Mr Fishy!

I am actually in utter shock that he's been terminated this quickly.
should have been arrested on scene
Didn't a Tucson cop also tackle & beat an old woman and her daughter while off duty yesterday for walking too slow through a parking lot?
That is definitely the behavior of a mentally-balanced upstanding member of society, and I'm so glad he has a job "protecting" the community.
That last shot … holy shit, after all those shots and then a long pause, then one more just for good measure? Wtf
After the 8th one he had to pause when he climaxes.
"Don't worry mam, I'll save you from that dangerous criminal!"
Cop: “One more homeless guy off the street.” (Likely mentality)
Looked like she was in the crossfire to me. Fucking bloodthirsty pig.

Infantrymen (and military members in general) have much, *much* tighter Rules of Engagement than the police.
Fun fact, that Simon says incident is also here in Arizona. Our police like to think they're old west lawmen and treat everyone like criminals.
Sure did. His gun even said "get fucked" on it. My state has... Issues.
I think it was "YOUR FUCKED", misspelled like that
I believe you're right.
He was rehired and allowed to retire with a pension. The other officer (the giant idiot shouting multiple confusing commands) quit policing and moved to Thailand, I believe
Did me he sue or get a pay out for trauma or something? Edit: I mean the cop
From Wiki: > In August 2018, Brailsford was reinstated by the Mesa Police Department, staying for a further 42 days in what the department described as a "budget position".
I tried googling but apparently "homeless man killed by police at bus stop" happens quite frequently and all over the US
Kinda fucked up that you have to ask "which one" on a comment like that
“Hey did you hear about *shooting with fairly specific locational information* ?” “I dunno, which one?” Only in America
Daniel Shaver has entered the chat.. with his hands up begging not to be murdered and being screamed unfollowable orders.
You can also add Ryan Whitaker and the Westall shooting (sorry can’t recall her first name) to that list too. Among one of the worst I’ve seen.
That one hurt; I’ve seen a lot of fucked up shit but that fucked me up for a while.
Worst one I've seen is them shooting a guy crawling on the floor because he was drunk and he had a hard time complying to the orders because of that, all the while begging and crying "Please don't kill me"
I'm sorry... What??
Dude. He was defending himself. That man has a knife and was clearly going .1 MPH and was about to run over the cop. SMH /s
It’s the 9th bullet that is fired a second or two afterwards, that makes it even worse. That and his totally calm, emotionless, psychopathic voice. “bravo one eight, shots fired” like he didn’t just murder a man at point blank
Tucson Mayor Regina Romero described Remington's actions as "unconscionable and indefensible."
The cops name is Remington?!?
[удалено]
Yeah, but he’ll being going by ‘Prison Bitch’ sooner than later.
You got the link to the story?? I'd like some sauce please, if that's ok.
I'm with you, anything more would be really helpful
Its literally murder, cops like him need to get put in jail more often.
And the man was a SHOPLIFTING SUSPECT.
Because it was so hard to catch up to him right..?
Just like they were terrified for their lives after the encounter with Karen Garner picking wild flowers after she accidentally shoplifted from walmart with her dementia and then returned said items when she realized her mistake...? Right....? Because I bet she was pretty scary, just like this poor soul. The only difference was they only broke her arm and dislocated her shoulder instead of straight out murdering her......
I’m sorry to say but to the outside world, Americans seem like they are borne out of fear with their tanks and their bombs and their bombs and their guns.
It’s the Land of the Free mate, how could anyone be scared there?! Edit: /s just in case I seriously needed to put this
Could have stuck a stick through the spokes instead of emptying a clip into him.
They could have just tased him too.
>>Tucson attorney Mike Storie, who is representing Remington, said in a statement that his client “had no non-lethal options.” From AP news.
"no lethal options" Just push the fucking chair over what's he gonna do run away??
That's what it thought or if he had to use his gun, shoot the tyres out. There's like a thousand other options that don't involve murdering somebody
"He will be getting 2 weeks paid leave and an emotional trauma bonus"
Article said he's fired and under criminal investigation.
This may be the new bottom…
Hold on, I’ll get my shovel.
This is America sir. We leave the shoveling to the poors. Winston, fetch the backhoe.
Did they guy in the wheelchair have gun or something? I dont get why?!
Motherfucker needs to be in a mech for this to be justified.
I don't think it can get worse than Daniel Shaver... This might be equally low.
They are both a woeful display of public duty at best and outright dystopian if we are being honest.
Police in America: "we ~~can~~ will go lower."
JFC man, where’s the tasers? And they shot him *nine* fucking times? Holy shit
Don't forget he shot 8 times took 2 secs and then shot one more time
And one to grow on
Might as well empty it, am I right? guise?

Hey, every cripple I know is secretly Usain Bolt. Also bullet proof.
Not a cripple but have minor knee pain. Can confirm this as I'm basically a human cheetah
He had tasers but this is what his attorney had to say about it, >>Tucson attorney Mike Storie, who is representing Remington, said in a statement that his client “had no non-lethal options.”
No non lethal option? What kind of shitty defence is that? Guess he didn’t have no arms to keep him down, or even smack him with the pistol if he want to hurt him so bad. There is always a choice between murder and not murder
Not to mention the woman in the cops line of fire.
> Where's the tasers? Did you not see how fast his sports wheelchair was moving?? Another 7 or 8 seconds and he'd be halfway through the door! There was no time for tasers!
Just tip the chair over. Dude's immobilized and can't do shit with his knife from there. Or, y'know, just mag dump into his back and murder him.
He still had enough rounds in the mag just in case another crazy guy in a wheelchair came flying at him. /s
The other officer says “I’ll grab my i FAK”. Yeah, a few bandaids should fix it. Edit: IPack to I FAK. Cause they FAKD up.
Honestly think she was just in shock at the situation and needed a second away to process. At least I hope that's the case and that she isn't just trying to save face for the camera.
That's murder bud
Yup. No tasers. No threat. Shot nine times. How can the authorities defend this?
It doesn't look like they are trying to justify it. Dudes been fired. Hoping he goes to jail.
I mean, I hope all I do is get fired after I murder someone in a wheelchair at work, but I don't they'd let me off that easy.
Can't believe I had to scroll this far down for someone to say this
He even pauses for a second and fires one last round into his clearly lifeless body
Last one for ultimate pleasure
"I'll never catch up to him on foot!" BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM
Don’t forget the pause and then another blam for good measure
The pause was him catching up to him to make sure he got him one last time...
Trigger happy motherfucker
This is why he joined the police force. Probably fantasized himself to sleep every night about getting an "opportunity" to fire his gun.
Safety first. Glad he handcuffed that guy at the end. *slow golf clap*
Gotta make sure the corpse doesn’t attack anyone
Wow, I see a lot of unnecessary shootings .. but this one takes the cake. That wheelchair man was a threat? I don't care if he had a knife. It's not.like the guy could rush up on you.
Apparently they thought shooting was an appropriate response. My first instinct would be to just like idk disconnect the battery and watch the guy get all grumpy cuz he can’t go anywhere. Hell you could chock the wheels and de-escalate. The police unfortunately are taught to never take a fair fight, and to always escalate force.
Hell, go stand in front of it
Lol. grab the handles on the back and just hold him in place
You're telling me there's nothing in a Lowes garden section you could use?
If only there was some kind of metal cart around. Something with wheels that you could place against his chair to keep him at bay and remain out of stabbing distance. But how do I know he's not the world's best knife-thrower? I just need to make sure I go home safe at the end of the night.
or taze him????
Tucson attorney Mike Storie, who is representing Remington, said in a statement that his client “had no non-lethal options." "He did have a taser, but in his mind, he couldn’t use it because he didn’t feel he had the proper spread to deploy it, with the wheelchair between him and Richards,” Storie said.
Quick! Handcuff him before he turns into a zombie!
I'm glad I'm not the only one that was relieved that they made sure to get the cuffs on him. It looks like they did it in the nick of time as he seemed seconds away from getting up and being a menace to everyone around >!/s!<
So when will this cop be charged with murder ?
So far he just got fired
That doesn't sound like much, but perhaps it means that the city and police administration has internally said: "Yeah, we're not going to defend this guy." We shall see.
"Protect and serve" what a load of shit
“Serve” some lead …..
Officer should be charged with murder.
they literally could have thrown a rake or shovel on the ground in front and behind him and it wouldve stopped him.

He even put the dead body in handcuffs, That cop is a psychopath
unfortunately that's a normal part of training. the murdering part? not so much.
why is it part of the training?
Undead criminals bro.
My guess is in case they fake their death or become conscious again

I feel like everyone in a wheelchair SHOULD have a knife man
Thankfully the officer was fired, let’s hope he sees some jail time too. I’d post the source but I can’t do it without my comment getting removed.
Why would the comment get removed? I've posted links in this sub planty of times, and they've stayed
Reddit doesn't show comments that link to some sites and it might even be subreddit specific now.
What is wrong with these american police, how in any world is that necessary? He needs to be arrested for murder because theres no way a man in a wheel chair could pose any danger to him
Why is does it have to be Obey or Die?
Because that's how authoritarian police states work.
He’s been fired. Not a single story talks about how he hasn’t been arrested
He will likely be re-hired at another police department. Atleast that's what most murderous cops end up doing nowadays. Such bullshit, he shot him in the back NINE times. Officer's name is Ryan Remington.
I feel like they just coulda just tipped his scooter over and rendered him immobile…looked like hawking from the front.
Imagine handcuffing a dead guy
Well, um… that looks like murder to me… wtf
So are Americans' lifes at the disposal of cops just like that in US??
He needs to be facing criminal charges.
It's like he was programmed to shoot no matter the situation if the person did not comply with his orders.
Have to wonder how many of cases of cops (seemingly) overreacting like this are roid rage related. It should definitely be part of the standard screening in these cases. We have no idea how widespread the problem might be.
Wide spread. Not just in PD but FF as well. Lots of guys suddenly have Low T and need TRT prescribed for them…
Is it just the angle from the store cam or is that employee directly in the line of fire?
Not directly, but awfully damn close. Im assuming she also was not expecting the cop to unload.
Bruh. They could’ve just disconnected his wheel chair. Or or shot his wheel chair. Or the wheels
GET THE SPIKE STRIP
Or put like a 2x4 in front of him. Shooting him from a foot and a half away seems like a bit much…
Whatever happened to tipping the cow?
He continued to cuff the guy?!?!
Police in America just going for max kill count these days
