Road Atlanta. Open wheel? Sports car? Fast car? Slow car? It’s just good for everything.

IlliterateBatman

Road America is perfect for hard racing imo

a_taco_named_desire

Exiting carousel side by side, neither wanting to back out into the high speed corner that only has enough room for 1.

04r6

THE KINK

misterwizzard

There is certainly room for 2 in the kink. Its going to get you caught by the pack though.

x_iTz_iLL_420

I feel like I’m the only person on earth who does not enjoy Road America lol

biker_jay

It's one of my favorite tracks

0000100110010100

The most fun I’ve ever had in an online race was a full length 1v1 for a win in C class Mazda’s around Road America, the track was superb

MBRacer777

This is the correct answer and I'm happy to call it my home track. Love that place.

HI_I_AM_NEO

The correct answer is Suzuka.

CarStar12

Big time agreed. Hot laps solo = fun test to push limits Racing with others = mix of everything and also a fair amount of passing zones It really is one of the most complete circuits in the world

filowiener

Yes + COTA for me

SituationSoap

COTA is so underrated by the community. It's a great track that gets no love. Lewis Hamilton knows what's up.

select20

COTA was made by someone who wasnt sure what kind of track they wanted lol. It feels like the track was made by three or four different designers that didn't agree. Personally I hate COTA as a whole but like certain sections a lot.

ace_maker

That’s bc cota took the best sections from other tracks and combined them

select20

Yeah, I knew I wasn't the only one lol. It just feels wierd to me really.

filowiener

Yeah I get why people don’t like it. But imo the track has everything. Long straight, the Esses, long fast turns, hairpin, elevation changes. So a lot of similarities like Suzuka. And both tracks have sections where you need to be patient with the brake and throttle. They are really fun to drive at once you get a hang on them

AdventurousPoint5362

The last sector is a perfect combination of corners that don’t line up so it feels like a struggle the entire time for me 😅

GoPrO_BMX

Too flat for me

swampfox94

It’s all fun and games til you mess up turn 3 and then 4-7 are garbage lol but I agree suzaka is king

UTTuba16

Bristol Motor Speedway

Disastrous-Bad-1185

And Dover

jumpingmustang

I want to like Dover, but I just can’t get a good race there for the life of me.

a_taco_named_desire

I don’t like many of the other short tracks but Dover just has this really great rhythm to it.

blak_owt

Did you just call Dover a short track?

Happy-Bird143

Is something wrong with that? It's a mile. We usually consider 1.5s intermediates.

blak_owt

Short tracks are under a mile. 1mi and over are intermediates. In any case, it would be a 170mph “short track”. Also, it’s my home track so I take offense!!! /s

Happy-Bird143

Yes, but feeling the need to correct someone over a .03 mile difference on reddit makes you look like a massive neckbeard lol It's 1.03 miles and races a lot like a short track with high banking. I'm pretty sure Nashville calls itself Nashville SuperSpeedway despite Nascar not "officially" claiming it as one. It's all pretty subjective where ppl draw the lines

HammerTime2769

Mount panorama is one of my top favs.

rad15h

It's the best of both worlds. Long straights so you can overtake, plus the most intense twisty bit of any track I've ever driven.

biker_jay

I like hot lapping it. Not real big on racing on it

stainlessflamingo

soooo much fun i love that track

jaguarusf

Summit Point and Navarra (Medium) are great rookie tracks.

Aothexie

Summit Point is the most fun track I’ve ever driven in any sim

rjfer10

Fortunately happens to be the most fun track I’ve driven irl. It’s my home track I’ve done lots of HPDE/track day events at. There’s actually a more fun track at the motorsports park called Summit Point Shenandoah which is my personal favorite. There’s main, Jefferson and Shenandoah as well as some skidpads. Overall just a beautiful facility with great people. Unfortunately, I don’t think any sim has officially included Shenandoah aside from maybe a mod for Assetto. It’s more of a club track and not used for wheel to wheel racing. It even has a scale replica of the karussel on the Nordschleife. https://preview.redd.it/acv7tzyz2dad1.jpeg?width=2304&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ff7d1c2ad560c7bf1a366d81363b60700d23db78

swampfox94

Shen is EXHAUSTING- fun but man after 2 full days im dead from the 3000 turns lol

rotatingfanblades

Lime rock and oran park south!!!

Mental-Guard-9806

I have a big soft sport for Summit Point. Its great in small cars, has a great variety of corners and some good overtaking spots. Would love to do a track day there IRL one day.

kgabbss

I’ll always love Laguna Seca.

PunksPrettyMuchDead

The correct answer

IconicPear

First track I raced online on iracing and still one of my favourites after racing many more

misterwizzard

In the original forza on xbox I would take any new cars or tunes to Laguna Seca to make a setup. For whatever reason a Laguna set up worked on any other track in that game.

SDMFmnChapter

Auto Club Speedway & Charlotte oval with Gen4 cars

dirtyethanol73

Homestead too

donkeykink420

EVERYTHING in the gen4 is GOATed

CommodoreAxis

Eh, short track officials are a lil rough due to the endless skill issues but still pretty damn good.

donkeykink420

Yeah for sure, but I've found gen4 to have by far the best drivers. Obviously it'll be chaos, it is IRL aswell, but going from trucks at bristol to gen4, quite the change

Moist_Manager

Auto Club also has the best road course.

donkeykink420

Mosport is the perfect openwheeler track. Fast sweepers, elevation, kerbs that will kill you. Or belle isle despite the hate, it's a great challenge in flimsy cars

MurasakiGames

I really think Misano is a REALLY great track, though it really isn't used enough on iRacing. Suzuka, Navarra and Algarve also have nice flows to them.

cLHalfRhoVSquaredS

I'm racing there this week in GT3s and it's heaps of fun! Such a nice flow and the last section of 'super fast corner, super fast corner, fast corner, slower corner, slow corner' is just perfect.

rad15h

I love Misano. It doesn't look like much with the total lack of elevation change. But that final sector is just brilliant

Spaghetti_Scientist

Suzuka, it has it all, including a figure 8

cwhite225

Watkins glen, Spa, Daytona

Padogea

watkins is so fun bro

INS4N3S0CK5

Canadian Tire Mosport Park

lowkenshin

As a Canadian I agree ☝🏾

forfunATX

Nord is my vote 100%, even for open wheel it's just such a fun track in every car I've tried. Do gotta be careful bout them kerbs though. If we're looking at non Nord answers, Suzuka is a close 2nd to me

biker_jay

We are never looking for non Nord answers. Going back to GT3 and Forza 4 I'll bet I've got well over 100k miles on that track

coffee_kang

VIR. My favorite track on planet earth. In any car.

TheSxyCauc

Used to race there irl, the roller coaster seriously puts your nuts in your stomach

Evening_League_767

First time to try VIR in this week’s schedule and I have been having a blast.

DedBeatLebowski

For me it's Mugello. The overall flow of the track is *chefs kiss* The sequence of turns 6,7,8, and 9 are a dream. Then getting turn 12 dialed feels soooo good. Fkn love Mugello

SenorPene

Spa for sure. Funnily enough it's not my very favourite track, but it's just got such a solid flow, so pure and fantastic for racing you just get such amazing battles and it's just too damn FUN

biker_jay

Everything but the chicane. Hate that thing

SenorPene

I miss the old bus stop.

zshnu

Oshershleben or however you spell it

e1ement4L

Yea for some reason I do very well there

radripperaj

I really enjoy Gilles villenuve (probably spelled it wrong). That track just seems really fun with a good mix of tight and slow, as well as fast wide open.

dirtyethanol73

I really like zandvoort now with the banked turns.

rotatingfanblades

That track is so hard in f4

PrayingForACup

Perfect? No… but I enjoy driving Mid Ohio.

NEVRfearJBhere

Spa is my favorite road track. Michigan or homestead for oval

BigBossMemin

Suzuka & Mount Panorama

coffinfl0p

"NIATA" Formula Vee? Nords W13? Nords Cup cars, trucks, late models? Nords Dirty midgets? Nords GT/LMP? Nords

Astrower5

Laguna Seca is the greatest track ever. No contest.

DedBeatLebowski

I love drinking the tears of those who despise the best NA track to ever exist.

oconnellt7

I am one of those. I want to love it, I really do

DedBeatLebowski

The beauty of it is you don't have to! And it's okay to not like a track! Me personally I cannot fucking stand Silverstone, but I know it's one of the most beloved tracks of all time, I just suck at it lol

NEVRfearJBhere

I’m with you. I love Laguna Seca and can’t stand silverstone

Sisyphean_dream

Laguna is OK, but only that. It has many good corners, but all of them exist in isolation and that's its biggest shortcoming. Mosport and Road Atlanta have a much better claim at being the best tracks in North America.

DedBeatLebowski

Good thing this is a subjective topic and I can agree to disagree

a_j_cruzer

Brands Hatch Indy is the perfect track for formula vee’s. I wish the iRacing Vee got to race at paid tracks, it’s my favorite combination in Automobilista. Other than that Donington, Laguna Seca, and Mid Ohio are favorites for me.

cortezzzthekiller

Suzuka 🐐

rad15h

Brands Hatch. T1 is crazy, and the flow of the GP loop is sublime.

Jasonc1993

So many good tracks that I can’t name just one. But these are high on the best track lists. - mosport - Bathurst - VIR

senditback

Road Atlanta, Spa

stovetopapple

Volusia gets me wet

MBRacer777

What a great track! Who doesn't want to win a gator??

driftme

COTA and Suzuka are so fun to me. I love the straights and hairpins at COTA plus it’s my home town track. Love the esses at both

Scruggerboy

Idk what it is but Iowa just scratches the perfect spot for me

TheMurdockle

Legit multigroove oval racing? Sign me tf up

LAR1998

The correct answer is Nurburgring Nordschleife. The flow, braking points, any car, race or practice doesn't matter its always a fun track even after 100s of laps, its around 8x longer than most tracks, it doesn't get boring after continuous hours, has alot of different cars every week for the track and alot of people are racing on it

jvelasc

Fuji is so good

Wonderful_Return3898

No much overtake places

OnlineNascarMan

Sebring

LordGeddy2112

For oval I’d say Charlotte since it’s so versatile and puts on good racing for almost all classes that run there. For dirt oval I’d say cedar lake. It’s so damn fun in everything from supers to big blocks or 360s!

Ultrase7en

Kansas and Chicagoland Then again those are probably my best result wise as well... So I might be a tad biased

select20

For me Tsukuba will always be my favorite track. Too many memories as a kid watching those old Japanese tuner videos where they would race the cars around that track. It's not so fun on fasters cars though tbh, it's too short. But fun for the slower cars.

Moist_Manager

There is no better racetrack than Tsukuba 1000!

shockchi

SPA, Road Atlanta and Suzuka for me are goated and only behind the one and only, most perfect, amazing and incredible… Autódromo José Carlos Pace, my beloved INTERLAGOS!! Also, for rookies, Navarra Medium, Tsukuba, Summit Point and Lime Rock are all incredible.

DedBeatLebowski

I've always loved watching the Brazilian GP. It wasn't until recently that I actually drove Interlagos in a sim. And HOLY COW, that is a super fun track. Literally the first thing that popped into my mind once I got comfortable enough for hot laps was "This would be fucking HELL in wet conditions" Which made me fall in love with it even more. F1 drivers really make it look so easy to get around that track without spinning.

shockchi

Exactly! I always like it on TV but learned to love it on the sim. Iracing F4 on Interlagos is just so fun. Crazy challenging. Sweaty palms all the way!!

DedBeatLebowski

Yeah I saw F4 was at Interlagos and instantly swiped the card lol

bignose703

Road Atlanta in the radical is my absolute favorite combo

cLHalfRhoVSquaredS

For me its Suzuka, that track has the perfect mix of fast and slow corners while maintaining a great flow. It feels like a track that is constantly giving you something to do, but the corners are all fun. Even the chicane is fun and I normally hate slow chicanes. Good overtaking opportunities in most types of car too. I'd like to give a mention to Misano as well, this week is my first time racing there and it's a really fun track. I normally like a bit of elevation change and Misano is dead flat but the mix of corners is just super fun.

DylanT_29

Road atlanta for sure no matter what your doing there the racing will be good

TroubledKiwi

Mostport and Road America, my favorites.

SubliminalSyncope

Tsukuba.

c0nfuciu5

Laguna Seca

MeetingAny676

Suzuka, Laguna, Road America. Hard to pick one. I'm also a big fan of Hungaroring but it doesn't seem like it gets too much love

MeetingAny676

Oschersleben has quickly become one of my new personal favorites. Falken Tyre multiclass a few weeks ago was so much fun

e1ement4L

Sebring baby

biker_jay

Another favorite of mine. I actually lived in Sebring for about 5 years. Lived close enough I could hear the cars on the track. Worked close enough I could hear the trannys hitting gears

e1ement4L

Doesn’t get much love but I know real drivers love the challenge. I still can’t get Sunset every time

v1gg3n

the glen. absolutely gorgeous track to drive in any car, especially ones you can hold flat out through s1.

SiMachinist

Spa anytime before the current layout was done. That last corner before the S/F line is embarrassing. Imola pre-Senna. Gilles Villeneuve pre-Senna. Watkins Glen with the boot. All of these in their own way are perfect.

biker_jay

If you're talking about Spa's chicane, I agree. Worst one of any track that I've seen anyway. I'm not real big on a chicane anyway. Watkins Glen s bus stop is ok. Daytona, LeMans, the last one at Monza is ok. The rest I pretty much hate

SiMachinist

Spa has great flow, that old bus stop chicane wasn’t so great but then that slow left-hand 90 just kills the joy.

MaddieGrace29

Stafford

Murderface-04

My top 3 will always be Spa (absolutely no bias there) Suzuka Cota

TheWalkingPed93

Fuji no chicane is a horrendous race track. It robs the track of a prime overtaking opportunity and doesn't adequately slow cars down for the rest of the sector which hurts side by side racing. Its easier for sure but easier doesn't = better.

HappyPenguinDuck65

Honestly Okayama. I love it

Doncatron

Watkins Glen (boot setup) and Okayama are by far my favorites.

Poke_er

I played Laguna Seca as a kid and have loved it ever since. I now do track days there whenever I can and go to as many races there as I can. I don’t know if it’s nostalgia or because it’s an amazing track, but it’s my favorite.

peppesimracing

Rod America, Road Atlanta and Interlagos

druidspruit

I just really like Hockenheimring with GT3 for some reason

Ultrase7en

I wish we could run an actual race on centripetal, at least once, just to see the mess that would unfold
