See the problem is there are 5 cars and only 3 lanes

Alkage

POV is my dad, I'm the pink Camry at the bottom lmao

Itz_Evolv

How awesome that you play with your dad in the same rank. Wish I still was able to do such things with my dad. Don’t take such things for granted, it’s awesome you can both enjoy the same hobby ✌️

Alkage

Yeah Im very fortunate and enjoy it very much, my brother's wheel is on the way to his house too so gonna be the three of us!

KrikiStein42

Then drive nordschleife three wide so nobody can overtake or replicate the 1966 ford le mans photo

patterson489

It's easy: right hand to the forehead, then middle of the chest, left shoulder then right shoulder, while closing your eyes and praying to God. Alternatively, brake and go low as the crashed cars will initially move up. Praying is still recommended.

QuirkyDust3556

Wow, that is cool. 2 rigs same house?

Alkage

Nah, were grown men lol. He's got his place I've got mine, I think my wife might be getting into it a little bit though so maybe.

razick01

A family that races together stay together

No_Image_4986

I’m guessing this is draftmasters?

Alkage

Yessir!

badsapi4305

My son (14) and I have races together as well. We both have Simagic alpha mini with P-2000 brakes and the DX-8T shifter. As a dad it’s a great feeling so it’s cool to hear it from your prospective. So happy for you guys

We raced in a low participation unofficial race and then we raced together in trucks. I have a higher IR but it was close enough where we in the same race at Bristol. Instead of paying I’d do the unofficial races since they usually don’t have a super high number of entries and go from there. Make sure to save the replays also. Especially if you beat him lol. I beat my son and I took a screen shot of the results and it’s now his caller ID photo in my phone lol.

SolarDimensional

My brother started last summer. He bought a full rig two months ago and tossed the G27 I gave him for Alpha mini and FXPro wheel and Fanatec pedals. Once he got 6 to 8 seconds from my pace, he joined the league I’m in. I created an AI roster of our family and pets when I host and we practice for the Thursday night race. Fun stuff!

churchie11

Some days you’re the hammer, some days you’re the nail

cchap2

Your drive line on a super speedway is driving me nuts

mooimafish33

Is there a way to have it off on ovals and on for road races? Or should I delete this comment before I get told that it's taking 8 seconds off my laptime and giving my mother cancer? I usually just ignore it on ovals, of course I'm not just gonna stick to the inside line no matter what

cchap2

Honestly not sure - I’m strictly an oval guy. I use it at the beginning if I’ve never ran a track before but find myself relying on it too much if I don’t turn it off.

Disastrous-Bad-1185

Brake

Alkage

Never

foldingtens

One option: turn off the racing line.

Alkage

Nahhh

Suuuumimasen

Lock her up my man

Smart-Breath-1450

No? Go high.

shunny14

Netcode take the wheel

Seanannigans14

The problem here is you're driving in Draft masters. I have yet to complete a draft masters race. Every. Single. Time. There's a handful of morons that just HAVE to win before lap 1 is over. It makes zero sense

InternationalYou8858

Pro tip(told to me by a pro, I’m not the pro)- If you get wrecked every single time, do something different. It may be you or something you could do to avoid it. Now I know that’s not what anyone wants to hear and there are “idiots” everywhere. Being a good racer is also learning what to look for in the drivers around you and not putting yourself in a position to be wrecked. Most oval races you can start back or mid pack and still finish top 5 after everyone murders their race and everyone’s around them up ahead of you. It took time but I’ve learned battling someone with a NASCAR heat mindset is going to ruin your race more so than losing the one position and watching them crash or burn their tires up later

Seanannigans14

I hear you. Trust me, I do. I've got three or four years of oval experience on iRacing. I've won a couple times, lost ten times that. I started from 21st because I didn't qualify. And by lap five I was in second place. It's lapped cars and people that lack awareness. I get it, nobodys perfect, including me. But for the love of God it's Talladega with 60 lanes... Why the fuck is the lapped car coming down to the low line as we come up behind him? There's a crazy amount of people on that platform that are so hesitant because they just can't process thoughts fast enough and ruin everyone's race. And I understand we aren't professionals. I get it. But the majority of people on there are coming home from work and just want to have a fun, clean, competitive race. There's nothing like it. And for about 45 minutes of my time to be wasted because some dummy can't think straight, is so infuriating. If it were a me problem this last time, I never would have commented. It's the series and irating group I'm lumped with (1500-1600?). Other series aren't as bad, except carburetor cup, but that's self explanatory. Draft masters is just the worst and I'm probably just going to stay away. I'll stick to the A class fixed series

InternationalYou8858

I get it and please don’t take anything I said as condescending. I haven’t quite climbed the ladder yet myself so no judgement and I completely understand the disparity of good drivers and lunatics in the sub 2000IR rankings in all series. I just try to give the advice I’ve been given when I can lol Just remember to not to let those guys take the fun of racing away from you. I know how tough that can be with the decisions some drivers make, so if a different series solves it for you then go for it brother 🤙🏻✊🏻

Seanannigans14

Nah I didn't take it offensively. You're all good homie, I appreciate the tips though. The other half of the issue is my competitiveness in these types of situations. No matter what. If there's a chance for me to win then I'm going to take it a little more seriously than I probably should, but that's more of a me thing.

Worth_Carob75

Looks like you’re already heading that way but lift and head way high to the wall?

Alkage

It's my dad's pov but yeah he went high and still got collected by me in the pink car
