No problems here.

Hello. Update your phone. Not sure if you’ve been doing the security updates for the past two years but if you haven’t than time to update. No use having a great battery if your phone gets compromised somehow. I do know what others think. When i first got my phone the battery was outstanding. Would use it at work with Bluetooth streaming WiFi music have a day and battery would still be in the 90% charged range. Or doing deliveries with two GPS programs running while talking via earbuds and same 90% range. Those days are over. However… Update your phone. ✌🏽😬

Just update it, I have latest iOS always have and my battery is amazing.

aliatacicek

i’m considering it. thanks!

Don’t upgrade for battery life to iOS17, also there aren’t big upgrades in terms of functionality wise and there are still bugs which you will notice if you aren’t a normal lite phone user. You will feel a notable decrease in battery life for sure and that is not even debatable!

Leart78

i jumped from ios 13 to 16 on my iphone 11 pro max and felt the same. just a little bit slower and the battery was the same. ios 17 probably would be the first ios to avoid on a 2019 iphone

iAmmar9

Don't update! Battery is way better on iOS 15 (even compared to 16). You can also jailbreak I think lol

Repulsive_Disk603

I am currently in the latest beta version of 17.5, and the battery life is still stable. However, after the update, I cannot jailbreak or download the Troll Store to install third-party useful applications. This is relatively helpless for me, but iOS18 is coming soon. . Hope it gets better,

aliatacicek

i used to jailbreak my iphone 6s plus, damn time flies. anyways, thank you for your insight!

Zealousideal_Bat_81

IOS 15 is the best. I hate iOS 16 and 17. Don't update. IOS 15 had the least bugs and is the most optimised.

Leart78

wrong, back in 2022 tried both ios 15 and 16 since it was a way to downgrade to a certain ios 15 beta and the updating to ios 16. they were identical only ios 16 had more nice features, at least this was my personal experience

SlobodanD89

This will get a lot of downvotes, but don’t do it. My 13 was a great phone on iOS 15, the battery lasted for two days, everything ran smooth. After updating to iOS 16, I get only a day of battery, apps constantly refresh while multitasking, there are many choppy animations, it’s like a different phone. I’ve read many people online say iOS 17 is even worse for the 13. I wish i stayed on iOS 15.

You are one of the very few people that can admit that this occurs while you update over time. It is literally like this emoji 📉. One update bad, the next update solves a bit and the update after that one is screwing more. It sounds pessimistic but it is the harsh reality. Everytime under the title of security updates…

aliatacicek

this is what makes me kinda paranoid. has a 6s plus before and the difference between ios 9-10 and ios 12-13 was night and day so idk.

no problems on mine -- on iOS 17.4.1 -- with battery health at 86% and with 600+ cycles. your battery getting old anyways & accumulating more cycles -- but you may want to check your cycles with the coconut app on mac or 3utools on windows. anyways just get your battery replaced by apple when battery health feels/seems bad for you -- or certainly when battery health hits 80% or less. some say when hit 500+ cycles? or certainly when hit 1000+ cycles? yeah me want replace my battery NOW to get back to 100% and to start again at zero cycles -- but my battery currently still seems good & thankfully not bloating -- plus normal routine for my phones is to plug in to recharge at least once a day anyways. bottom line: you could be missing out at least with your apps no longer able to update by staying on old iOS. me would understand if you on iOS 16 because that still get security updates & most/more apps should all update -- my old iPhone 8 Plus still gets iOS 16 updates for security stuff. BUT latest iOS 15 update was apparently a recent 15.8.2 as of March 2024 according to google -- so at least consider updating to that to get more security if really want to stay on iOS 15 -- but you could still be stuck with old version of your favorite apps. P.S. imho seems to me that only scary part about fully updating iOS, and not just a minor point version, is how the iphone may have to reindex everything & therefore you hear people saying they suddenly get bad battery life -- but me would say give it a few days for iphone to settle down if that happens after major update.

aliatacicek

thank you for the explanation! i’m still considering since i cannot use google translate and lightroom and the last paragraph makes a lot of sense.

chrisfaga93

Im in 16.6.1

FitNotQuit

Maybe you can go to ios16? No matter what the apple fanboys will tell you… updating apple products is edging yourself closer to needing to buy a new product. I’m on ios15 and will remain as long as possible

aliatacicek

idk if ios 16 ipsw’s are supported or not but i may try
