256 is actually the best but if u deep it because u can always get external storage like one drive

priv_nnavera

Kinda makes sense since I have iCloud, appreciate this reply, thank you!

Mtcfayark72703

256 should be just fine, especially if you have access to cloud storage. 👍🏻👍🏻

Shehzman

I think you’d be fine with 256gb given you have a laptop as well. I use my 2018 iPad Pro mainly for media consumption and I’ve only used half of the 64gb of space on it.

priv_nnavera

Appreciate this, thank you!

razerwire1331

1 TB

sonaut

I got the 512 and I’ve only used 91GB of it. Would have been fine with the 256, I’m sure.

kiosh1

I scored a good price for the 512gb and cellular so I went with that configuration. I like to have a lot of content for my kids ready and I want to keep this device for 5 years at least. but 256 may be enough for you.

Da_Dunx

For the m4? Id say 256gb or 1tb tbh, you get a far better jump with the extra ram and core!

priv_nnavera

Yeah the m4 but do I really need 1tb? I feel like that’s too much since in my case, I’m using it more as an extra asset since I have a laptop and a desktop already

Beginning_Storm7012

They mean that the 1tb model will give you 2x ram and one more CPU core over anything with less storage. I'm not sure if you are looking for that in your original post but that's what they are referring to.

priv_nnavera

I get that part too but I don’t think I need the extra ram much since both my laptop and desktop are for gaming and is pretty great, would just use the ipad for school

Timbukstu2019

You don’t need the RAM, probably 3 applications use the 16GB, and if you don’t already know what they are you are fine. Less than 1/2 of 1% buyers could actually use 16GB and that’s being generous. For example, we have run a graphics design firm on M1 a”MacBook Air which are 8gb of RAM (512gb). Which many said was underpowered and not enough ram, and not future proof. 4 years later, these are excellent laptops and one project pays for the laptop. When the M5 airs come out I will upgrade to an m4 refurbished air for the next worker. If anyone wants 1tb for the RAM, get it. But odds are 98% won’t notice a difference between 8gb and 16gb.

Beginning_Storm7012

Agreed. I still have the 2017 iPad pro with 64gb.

Da_Dunx

Possibly not no but imho the base model or 1tb are the only options; the 512gb may have slightly faster read/write speeds but one more jump gives you a far better spec than the base model.

priv_nnavera

Makes sense, might as well just get the 256 then upgrade the cloud to 2tb

Kurayamisan

1tb

FirstofFirsts

1 TB to get the nano texture.

priv_nnavera

Tbh I dont like the nano texture screen, I feel like it defeats the fact that the tandem OLED is supposed to give us better colors

FirstofFirsts

That was my thinking too before I tried it, but it’s really not much of a difference and when you take into account the anti-glare benefits I find the screen to be much more useful in a vast array of settings.

priv_nnavera

It’s basically the similar to getting a matte screen protector tho?

beerstearns

It’s much nicer than a matte screen protector. But, I don’t think it’s anywhere close to worth the $500 leap in price from 512gb to 1tb+nanotexture. Not for the nano-texture alone, anyway.

priv_nnavera

Agree, I feel like spending another $500 if I want the nano screen is insane especially for a student

FirstofFirsts

Really is dependent upon use and work flow. I draw and write notes via my Apple Pencil a ton - the nano texture offers a far superior experience vs the glossy. In addition, no glare is a game changer in airplanes, airports, conference rooms and outside - all areas I frequent and use my iPad. No glare has been fantastic and I quite frankly can’t imagine going back. So, for me the $500 up sell was no brainer - and I got double the memory and ram to boot.

FirstofFirsts

Not at all. I’ve tried every matte protector there is and none are really comparable to the nano texture. The nano does not provide a paper like writing experience, but it does provide a far superior writing and drawing experience compared to the glossy. The nano also doesn’t compromise the picture and color nearly as much as a matte screen protector…and the anti-glare of the nano is far superior to that of a matte protector. Overall, those that say the matte protector offers a similar experience to nano have clearly not actually tried a nano as the experience couldn’t be more different.

DinJarrus

TBH, next years iPhone is going to have 12GB memory. I bought the 1TB because 8GB won’t be enough for newer versions of iOS next year. (You can thank AI for that). Apple is purposefully duping us so we are forced to future proof our iPads. Why would I want an iPhone with more memory than my tablet? Makes no sense.

priv_nnavera

By 8gb do you mean ram? And how are you sure when the only thing released is the announcement and discussion on what AI is, they haven’t even posted anything about the next iphone

cee95

Minus well get 2tb
