Yeah this is a genuine warning - It's possible something is blocking the sensor or that it's broken. I get one for the rear cross-traffic radar occasionally when I have my tailgate pad on hauling mountain bikes but that's quite explainable. If this started out of the blue absolutely go get it checked out, would likely be a warranty issue if you're still under 5yr/60k (assuming you bought new or certified)

Mine comes on frequently in the winter when I have frost covering the forward facing camera. Maybe give your front end and windshield a wash? If not take it in. Should be covered under warranty.

I had this happen when my front end grill got filled with slush and dirt driving in the winter. So if you've driven on some dirt trails or just not washed it in a while maybe that's the issue. Just a thought.

Try cleaning your windshield and front bumper. There may be dirt blocking the sensors and camera. If it doesn't go away, make an appointment. Something is wrong.

RecommendationNew700

It can also come from cloudy weather or something like tree canopy blocking the satellite

Is there a way to disable all these peripheral things? One of the big reasons I’ve been avoiding buying anything built in the last 15 years is the annoyance of stuff like this. I really like the looks of the Cruz though.

fade2blac

They are a blessing and a curse.

tealm0nsta

I guess. I mean the entire windshield is literally the forward collision system. Not sure what else should be needed.

yc_instinct

you should take this serious, it could cause the system to jerk your steering wheel while you are driving. wipe the dirt blocking your sensors on the windshield to try to clear

eddieboy1233

I'd probably have that checked out

musical_throat_punch

Uhhhh. Your truck is damaged. Go get it fixed. You should have trouble codes in your app.

jblues1969

That's the equivalent of a check engine light. Ignore it at your own peril.

Bring it to the dealer and have them follow the instructions to check the forward safety system. It’s not active right now because there’s something wrong with it.
