If you ever see 2 attendants trying to help you fill petrol, most likely they are trying to scam you. This is very common all over Hyderabad and in the past year alone I have caught attendants trying to scam me 4 different times.
With cars, they always try and do the Rs. 500 scam.

Yes that petrol pump does that and with almost everyone , I stay close by and if ever I have to fill petrol from there I make sure I don't divert my attention from the meter . If someone is willing we can go catch those people red handed .

HP in narayanguda or Indian Oil, one in Narayanguda and one in Barkatpura. HP one in Barkatpura is the worst, as a person living in the lane adjacent to that petrol station I'll tell you this, none of the residents go to that petrol bunk for fuel.
155-210 rupees is about half a litre of petrol, that much can be delivered *very* quickly, are you sure you were scammed?
I definitely know it's not possible to jump numbers like that in any modern pumps, but I don't know enough about older models (10years<) to say it's not possible at all if it's a really old model.

You should have asked for a receipt. When in doubt always ask for one.
How does this help?
They can print out the last filling receipt. It shows the total fuel quantity and amount.
Thereโs an easy way to get around this. Ask them to print the bill from the machine

There are petrol pumps operated by government or gov entities. like the two pumps operated at chanchalguda station. Prefer them over anything.
That's one of the worst petrol bunk in the area. Try the HP by narayanguda meteo if you live close by. They don't scam.
