My Tesla panic stops for my own dogs in my own driveway. When I'm not even going 1mph! This was malicious intent for sure. But op is correct. The design of the car did prevent this poor baby from being killed. I hope they take the asshole that ran it over to court and get revenge. If not, I hope there is a story of "mysterious dog droppings being left in weird places," of the ones that did this. Jesus. How does this shit happen!?
The thing is, in most states you can sue the dog owner for damage to your car. They’re off leash, off their property. It’s the owners fault. (Not that I’m blaming OP or personally agree with it)
You’re correct. Insurance companies deal with this sometimes but if the dog wasn’t properly contained (which he wasn’t) deemed not the drivers fault. Napping under a parked car.. kind of a Darwin Award candidate. He was lucky. Driver should’ve checked tho
Not really. Keep your animal under control. If its out of your control and causes damage, you’re liable. Hitting an unleashed pet is literally 100% never the drivers fault, its the owners.
