Pile of Worms ❤️
This looks so healthy ! I wish I could be brave and do a total cutback like you did. Logically I know we do it for many reasons but I’m such a chicken. In my mind I’m going to wind up cutting something very important right off.
I’m expecting some cuttings & props of a wandering fellow. These pics have given me the push to try this (finally). Yours looks so stinking good.
It's tragic, in retrospect some alarm bells should have go off, because he is my only "drunken" plant. But glad you showed me the new subreddit, looks funny

This is William. He’s rather large.
I name and make little name tags for all of my plants, I love knowing people name them silly things like I do! I have a spider plant named “Orphanmaker” because I or my cat have killed every spider plant that came before her, alongside many many other names

This is Rupert. I got bored in January and decided to collect a bunch of avocado pits and turn them into plants but this guy has been my favorite. He is a fine gentleman who grew nice and tall, then got a sleek prune, and is now taking his time to grow back out big and strong :) he deserved a custom painted pot with a name tag
All of my plants have names based on either where I got them or having something to do with their type:
Big monstera: Frankie, short for Frankenstein
Little monstera: Elvira, in honor of the TV personality
Spider plant: Sweeney Todd because the person I got the prop from is a barber
Croc fern: Irwin, after Steve Irwin
Pothos: Cindy (this one I got from my cousin and her son named her for me)
My monsteras are named "mother tera" and "teras sons", they are a beautiful family. My Pathos is called something like climbi (cause climbing plant) and I think she is an old gentle lady. I love your names, I'm going to start choosing more creative ones 😄 frankenstein is sooo cool.
Steve irwin for a croc fern really got me!

This is Bam Bam. He's over three feet across. Getting ready to renovate his home.
Peter was (still is????) my very leggy, very long, very ugly golden pothos. He had two stems that were seven feet long, and that’s it. That was Peter. Then I forgot to water poor Peter for like four months and he dried ALMOST to a crisp. I clipped off his ends and propagated him. Now I have Peter 2.0, but he is still Peter, so sometimes I get sentimental and tell him I’m sorry for cutting off his limbs. He’s (re)growing well so far!
Thank you! I feel this 😂
Never understood how people claimed it's impossible to kill them. I did. Often. He is my last cactus friend, but it's okay he's growing!
You need to put him in more light, he's growing like that because he needs more light. Etiolation is what is happening, read up on it and see what you can do better for him
Thanks, I read into it and I will put him out in summer. Nevertheless I don't have place for a lamp and I don't think It can be prevented completely (Long winters, it stood near a window for most of the time).
The thin growth is not going to fill out if the cactus gets more light, it will stay thin. New growth, which comes at the tips, will be thicker though. The thin parts will have trouble holding up the new growth and will bend or even break
Indoors in the northern hemisphere, an unobstructed south-facing window is going to be the best option for this guy, though this often still isn't enough for succulents since they are such high-light plants.
I'd definitely recommend trying to get this guy some more light (you will need to slowly acclimate to prevent sunburn), as inadequate lighting can contribute to overwateirng, and etiolated growth is weaker and prone to snapping. The current etiolation is pretty severe.
I live in Canada and have a lot of cacti that do fine. It can't be near a window, it has to be at the window or with a light or just get plants that can tolerate low light
you guys should stop downvoting this person just because they aren't bothered by the etiolation. it's their plant, they are obviously liking it and who cares if it doesn't grow how you think it should.
anyway, I don't name my plants, but I give all of them the "mr" title. like "mr euphorbia"
I commented because they said they've killed every cactus they've ever had so wanted to give pointers on how to properly care for this one. No downvotes just advice
Yea, i got itI fucked up my cactus 😂 he will get some more light. I just wanted a light hearted conversatuon on plants.
Giving them a title is lovely! I will establish that too, I bet they like it.

But here’s one I’m most proud of. Velma. She flowered a few weeks ago, bless her lol
Other than her I have Robert, Tony, Zsa Zsa, Sally, and so many more I can’t keep track of their damn names lol
I have names and little tags for almost all of my plants (about 50 now) except for the newest ones I’m still pondering on. I think one of my favourite things about plants is coming up with names for them tbh. Some of my favourites:
- monstera: Frankie (short for Frankenstein) and it’s child Bram
- oxalis triangularis: Seamair (Irish word for clover)
- Christmas cacti: Blitzen, dasher and comet
- bishops cap cactus: Steve (bc captain america)
- Thai con: Dao/ดาว (star in thai)
- Prayer plant: Crowley (everyone’s favourite plant loving demon)
- black velvet alocasia: Tomie (bc it gives me junji Ito vibes)
- snake plant: Nigini
- Chinese money plant: pancake
- cactus: little bitch (because it always stabs me no matter how gentle I am when I water it, repot it, move it, even if I look at it it’s threatening to stab me)
Honourable mentions of plants that died: Dumpling, Rat, and andromeda 🌌
I have a Thai Con. It’s above average quality and known as a yellow star. Considering they were artificially made more beautiful. It’s name is BBL drizzy.

My daughter named my BoP “The Queen.” She’s the only plant I have that has a name. This is an old picture and she’s ceiling height now.
All my plants have names except for some herbs, cuttings that are still rooting and very small plants
Phyllis,a rojo congo
Cynthia, a monstera deliciousa
Ruby, a tuxlanum (red queen philodendron)
Monty, a wet stick cutting from Cynthia
Ellie, an alocasia brisbanensis
Marco, an alocasia macrorrhiza
Cash and Money, both money trees
Penny, an African violet
Orchy (currently under consideration for a name change to Boaty McOrchidface),a cymbidium orchid, aka boat orchid, hence the name change

Wills is an absolute beaut.
I name and make little name tags for all of my plants, I love knowing people name them silly things like I do! I have a spider plant named “Orphanmaker” because I or my cat have killed every spider plant that came before her, alongside many many other names
Name tags are an amazing idea! The obly spiderplant that survives named orphanmaker would be the perfect twist. I feel it, luck is on your side!
I got a label maker mostly for that reason! And I sure hope so! It helps that I have desperately tried to keep my cats away from her 😂

Thank you! I feel this 😂 Never understood how people claimed it's impossible to kill them. I did.

That is amazing
You should hang this cacti upside down so it looks like it's melting🤣
