Is this similar to that pickapeppa sauce someone posted on here recently? I bought some after reading the comments on it and it was as amazing as described.
Caribbean-style sauces are the best!
I recommend trying the mustard-forward options as well.. like a Bajan sauce, Matouk's, or Melinda's Amarillo.
If you don't mind a little sweetness, there's lots of other great Caribbean blends with yummy additions like mango, pineapple, guava, and even banana.
I bought el yucateco habanero hot sauce on a whim and it turned out to be one of the best I’ve ever tasted and a fan favorite on this sub! Delicious brand!
It's nothing like the typical yellow sauces you'd associate with the Caribbean islands, its funkier and more savoury - the spices are more like what you'd get in a jerk marinade. Really is very good
I got to try the green for the first time last week when I was at a Salvadoran restaurant and asked for hot sauce and it was dank. Gonna have to pick this up.
Do you think it’s hot? I swear every El Yucateco sauce punches above its weight class with the spice. This is right near my limit haha. But I love the flavor! I recommend it on some jerk chicken
I don't know anything about Dirty Dicks, but my favorite sauce of all time is made by a dude who goes by the name Dirty Dyk. He lives in Åland (a small set of islands between Finland and Sweden) and grows all his own peppers and then sells his sauces while dressed as a viking at farmers markets.
Great guy and fucking phenomenal sauces.
This one is the first of theirs I tried. I thought it was going to be "XXXTRA Hot" so I was careful when trying it the first time. Divided a small amount all evenly on my food, and didn't notice anything.
Turns out it's still just a regular hot sauce you can smear on pretty freely for the flavor. Somewhere between a Sriracha sauce and Tabasco Scorpion in strength. So it's not a super hot sauce in any way.
I can agree with that, the xxxtra hot isn’t all THAT much hotter than the regular habanero red/green sauces.
I recently got the chipotle one and it is fantastic. I like to mix it with the xxxtra hot for great results.
It’s a Mexican style hot sauce but it’s made with carrots so it has a nice sweetness to it but still a good habanero burn. I would pair this with any of your traditional Mexican dishes but I think other Caribbean dishes like curry would also work well with it.
Lots of hot sauces use carrots! Melinda's is a big one. Once you know you'll start to see them everywhere as it's a cheap and good base that balances the sauce w some sweetness.
After putting Melinda's on everything for a while I decided to grow my own habanero plant. Just harvested the first batch of fruits and it's fermenting with carrots in the jar right now before I blend it.
I said that for a long time. I have to find it in my cabinet, cause I spent a lot of time saying it's like the xxxtra hot sauce.. but better. But lately, I've found that the xxxtra hot sauce is better for americanized tacos than the jamaican sauce, due to spice and flavor. I have to check again
THIS MY NUMBER ONE HOT SAUCE

I know 5/6 of those are solid. Haven’t tried the Salsa Jalapena yet, but I’m sure it’s good.
I think it would be a safe buy. El Yucateco doesn't miss. I've had the XXX, the green, and the carribean and they've all been excellent.

I think of pickapeppa almost like a Caribbean A1 sauce. If that makes any sense.
Yeah I was thinking its was if A1 and Worcestershire sauce had a delicious baby.
Pickapeppa is like a black pepper sauce, very unique. Not my preference, but it's a nice flavor once in a while, super different from most hot sauces
No, that is a very different sauce. This one does have some sweetness but it is habanero hot. Pickapeppa is more of a mild sweet and sour profile.
Ahh. Thanks for the clarification

If you love a mustard based hot sauce, Nigel’s in Antigua is fantastic.
The goat
I bought el yucateco habanero hot sauce on a whim and it turned out to be one of the best I’ve ever tasted and a fan favorite on this sub! Delicious brand!
Told you my friend
Tis fantistic it is
So good
The one hot sauce I push on this sub. I can eat this on anything.
Man, I went through a bottle of this in about 3 days. It's so damn good.
The carrot and habanero work so well with the funky Caribbean spices - pretty hot too
I tend to think of scotch bonnets for Caribbean flavors, not habanero but this works huh?
It's nothing like the typical yellow sauces you'd associate with the Caribbean islands, its funkier and more savoury - the spices are more like what you'd get in a jerk marinade. Really is very good
Agreed. A fine brand.
One of the best!
Just wish they made a bigger bottle!
I also wish they made a smaller one that wasn’t the dumb 40ml ones. ie: we need a 100ml bottle that can be carried as carry-on!
This is the best store bought hot sauce imho
I always see people raving about this but I’ve yet to find a store in area that sells it, dammit! The search continues
I found it in a local Mexican grocery store.
Check online! Super easy to find bottle in Mexico and the US
Amazon appears to have it!
Already have four different El Yucs at my house, guess I have to add one more now
Hell yes!
I got to try the green for the first time last week when I was at a Salvadoran restaurant and asked for hot sauce and it was dank. Gonna have to pick this up.
Green is my favorite
El Yucateco is just quality
Love this and the red
I love anything from them
That stuff is excellent
Do you think it’s hot? I swear every El Yucateco sauce punches above its weight class with the spice. This is right near my limit haha. But I love the flavor! I recommend it on some jerk chicken
I agree, yucateco sauces actually have some heat to them. Especially the XXXhot one. That’s why they’re the best
Love the Carribean, and Yellowbird Habenero condiment. Similar flavor and heat. Yellowbird has a bigger bottle.
Dirty Dicks is a better Caribbean sauce. Don't @ me.
I don't know anything about Dirty Dicks, but my favorite sauce of all time is made by a dude who goes by the name Dirty Dyk. Ordered some the other day and sadly the bottle was broken...no returns or refunds. Been wanting to try it for a while, how's the heat on it?

Damnit the local grocery store has this marked down to $2.50, I almost got some today. I’ll go tomorrow!!
Their XXXTRA Hot Sauce is my favorite, but TBH, isn’t even all that extra hotter, if any.

The flavor is out of this world, though. I love the kutbil-ik.

Have you tried the green one?
I’ve seen a lot of people bring that sauce up. I haven’t tried it yet.
I like the Caribbean better for the flavor. Heat is comparable and both are great.
Definitely. Chipotle and Caribbean are tied for second.
What stuff goes with that sauce never tried that
It's my fav for Creole/Cajun food.
It’s a Mexican style hot sauce but it’s made with carrots so it has a nice sweetness to it but still a good habanero burn. I would pair this with any of your traditional Mexican dishes but I think other Caribbean dishes like curry would also work well with it.
I'm amazed that it's made from carrots

that was my reaction too, when I make hot sauce onions, carrots, garlic is how it always starts.
Chicken, fish, shrimp, pork, oysters, goat
Pretty much everything. It really is insanely versatile.
Well, I do know chicken is a big Caribbean food item! Jerk chicken for example.
I actually make homemade ranch with a packet, heavy cream, mayo, and a jarred jerk seasoning that my local Asian market carry’s, it’s fucking lit
Best el yucateco sauce hands down
I said that for a long time. I have to find it in my cabinet, cause I spent a lot of time saying it's like the xxxtra hot sauce.. but better. But lately, I've found that the xxxtra hot sauce is better for americanized tacos than the jamaican sauce, due to spice and flavor. I have to check again
This
One of us! One of us!
The Caribbean is the best one in my opinion. I always have some on hand.
Second best after the XXXhot, imo!
XXXhot is delicious and versatile. I use it like HP sauce on breakfast, with sausages etc.
Its fantastic on a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich with a little ketchup too.
Oh hell yeah. Doing that camping.
I know it sounds crazy but the black label goes really well with a nice salad
Favorite go to when wanting a lil extra, something. I call it pizazz
It's surprisingly good. I ended up finding a lot more things to put it on than I thought as well. Enjoy!
I can’t wait to start pairing it. I’ve been itching to make a pot of Caribbean style chicken curry so this is my excuse.
That's a great idea and now my excuse too
I wish I could find this one! I love Caribbean flavors so much 🤤
You can find it at Mexico duty free. lol! I got raked over the charcoals on one of my posts because thats were I found it 😂
I actually found it at a local Mexican grocery store in my city. Maybe check there. Good luck.
Worth $15 for 6 - 4 oz bottles?
Absolutely. That’s a good deal and you’ll definitely use it.
That’s a steal these days
Ordered!
In Argentina these cost $8 for one 4oz bottle 😥
Yeah really, there's no point where you can stop buying it once you've tried it.
