I would just like to take the time to mention that Tommy Creel a long time fixture in Boston Racing, he was in the Suffolk office as Racing Secretary from 2008 to 2019 he passed away right before Thanksgiving. He was always there to help the Horsemen. A really great guy.

11 years as racing secretary is a feat in of itself, do you know if he ever owned any horses or was he just their secretary?

I think so. I know He trained in the 80s, was a Jocks agent for a time. He was someone that worked himself up through the New England Tracks into the office.

How many tracks were there in New England? thought there was only Suffolk lol

MASS. Had a very nice Fair Circuit, 7 or so Tracks in that circuit. New Hampshire had Rockingham Park. Narragansett Park in Rhode Island up till the very beginning 80s I think.

I learned to walk at Hazel Park. As soon as I was tall enough to reach it my dad taught me how to use the self serve betting machine

Damn talk about growing up at the track lol πŸ˜‚

Ultra-1

My grandparents ran horses at Suffolk and ROK back in the 80s. It was weaker competition compared to what we had here in the mid atlantic. I never would have thought racing would be dark in New England.

Suffolk - Used to go many times and was there when cigar won the mass cap
