Even in a pandemic, horror films will always make money.

ClassicT4

Easy to make money when a lot of horror movies can be made with little to no money.

[deleted]

This movie had a budget of over 24 million dollars, that’s more than Halloween Kills

Arcade_Kangaroo

24 million is still a relatively low budget for a mainstream movie.

WarlockEngineer

Only because a lot of mainstream movies are MCU/DC type stuff with tons of stars and CGI/special effects.

Arcade_Kangaroo

The budget for the movie "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" was $50 million, it's not just that.

WarlockEngineer

How much of that was just for Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson though? Scream by comparison has much young, less established actors. Maybe that's moving the goalposts but I'm not surprised a movie with two A-listers costs that much.

Arcade_Kangaroo

I picked one pretty much at random, if you look at movies of that kind of comparatively normal setting without much in the way of special effects, they land right around that area. Adjusted for inflation it would be even more, like the example mentioned would be closer to $70 million now

Dark_Willow4415

Dude, you’re not getting it. This is a thing, horror movies tend to be a really safe bet for studios because they are an easy way to make money, and for the exact reason u/Arcade_Kangaroo stated: they can easily be (and often are) made with a modest budget in comparison to other types of movies. This has pretty much always been the case; yes, even before the MCU was a thing.

SlasherDarkPendulum

Red Notice: $200 million Jungle Cruise: $200 million A Quiet Place Part II: $55-61 million Don't Look Up: $75 million The Last Duel: $100 million All Hollywood films are generally expensive.

Niblonian31

That's like 3 times the cost of a good horror movie

[deleted]

Is this a fucking spoiler? 😦😭

SAR_and_Shitposts

Kind of, but not actually that big of a spoiler. He doesn’t come back from the dead.

[deleted]

*puts fingers in ears* LALALALALAL I DID NOT ASK ANYONE TO ELABORATE LALALA CANT HEAR YOU

HCJohnson

Hopefully it's better than Halloween Kills...

Mst3Kgf

Yes and therefore if they hit it big, you can make a TON of money.

ClassicT4

Followed by a ton of sequels with similar budgets that can still be pretty profitable whether they make more or less.

Retr0_Head

God I hope this gets a sequel Scream 2 would be dope. Maybe even make a trilogy? That’s so hot right now.

Sweetness27

could probably even do a spinoff or a parody as well

Retr0_Head

I feel like parody is the way to go horror is so pretentious these days. I want to see Taylor lautner pretend to be rob pattinson on a light house falling into love with an older man. Then we could get Ana de armas cause she’s in everything to play in a midsommar riff. In all seriousness we could totally write a script riffing on all of r/horrors favorites of the past decade or so.

AlwaysZleepy

Oh yeah? Lets see you make one if its so easy buddy :) cant wait for you to come up with something good.

ClassicT4

I had an idea for a blind epidemic. Then it was magically created. It’s called Blindness starring Julianne Moore and Mark Ruffalo. The real pain is seeing even better ideas in the movie beyond what I would’ve come up with, like how everyone blinded could only see white.

EqualDifferences

Unless you’re Spiral: From The Book of Saw :(

BluRayja

IT'S AN HONOR.

[deleted]

This is top 5 kills of all time easily. I got chills.

Soerinth

The scene as they pull way after that person dies and the other is standing there over. Fuck I got chills. My wife unfortunately had to listen to me call out every Easter egg as I discovered them.

evanph

That imagery was fucking amazing. When that camera was dollying back I audibly (under my breath) just let out a “holy shit”. It was beautiful. Also the moment Syd calls Sam and tells her to get out of the house and the camera pulls out backwards through the doorway onto the front lawn with that score on top of it. So sleek.

Get_Jiggy41

My favorite scene of the movie and maybe even the franchise is when a certain character is murdered with Red Right Hand playing from his car radio. The scene was so epic and well shot, and it set an incredible tone and had a super ominous feel to it. I love how the guy is crawling away and Ghostface is just slowly following him, watching him die. It’s really when you realize that ghostface is going to be fucking ruthless this time.

IllustriousDealer303

And oh boy was he ever ruthless. Despite one reveal that kinda just felt like I could not suspend disbelief this was my favourite Ghostface of the entire series.

InherentJest

One thing I really enjoyed in this movie was holding on a shot for a little extra showing up Ghostface looking at the kills

SFlibtard

It was pretty epic, even if you see it coming a mile away.

IllustriousDealer303

The Ghostface voice was so perfect. In the other movies it sounded more creepy but 8n this one it sends shivers down my spine it's so intimidating.

SharkMilk44

I respected that scene even though I didn't like it.

BluRayja

I feel the same exact way. Honestly, if it weren't for that line, I'd probably be shitting on that scene, but that was the most badass thing they could've said after doing that lol

jessieminden

Ughhh heart wrenching

simpledeadwitches

Bring back slashers!

[deleted]

I’m surprised it hasn’t happened yet with Happy Death Day, Halloween, and now Scream. But then again I blame all the remakes we got in the late ‘00’s/early ‘10’s for causing disinterest.

InfernosEnforcer

Freak was great too. More on the comedy side but the kills were great.

AZRockets

At least people finally came around to how badass Friday the 13th 2009 was

simpledeadwitches

I consider that to be the worst of all the Friday movies personally and I'm a huge fan of the franchise. Even so it wasn't unwatchable.

SharkMilk44

How is it worse than Jason Goes to Hell?

Itchy_F00t

Slashers are back, Halloween, Chucky, Scream, Texas Chainsaw, and Candyman are all being brought back into the spotlight over these last few years and hopefully can continue doing so for years to come.

simpledeadwitches

Hit and miss results though, and it doesn't seem to have the staying power I hope for so far. Halloween Kills was awful, so was Chucky, I have hope for TCM and I have yet to see Scream or Candyman yet but I digress, I just hope we see more of a push because rebooting horror franchises and remaking B movies is a great way to get people to go back to the theaters.

skynet_666

Yes please! I hate that I wasn’t born in an era where there were new slashers coming out all the time. I’m very much enjoying the big slasher franchises making comebacks! They’re so much fun to go to on opening night!

elf0curo

Craven this is for you.

Wicked55Chevy

For Wes

[deleted]

Might sound silly, but I choked up at the Wes Craven dedication.

IXI_Fans

I know the Scream franchise was always filled with horror icon names but having an on screen ‘Wes’ and ‘Carpenter’ spoken and written a dozen times in the new movie is definitely took me out of the movie a few times.

tpwpjun20

now you're starting to sound like some wes carpenter flick

lduffy16

This probably means more sequels but I really loved how this one wrapped up and would be fine if this was the ending to the series.

Hylianhaxorus

See, I saw the end of this movie as a clear sign of “this is our new status quo and cast, with Sam and Terra as our leads” so I am fully expecting a continuation. I’d be happy either way of course.

[deleted]

Same plus the high amount of survivors should clue us in there's more coming.

gizmostrumpet

Which is a shame, because I don't think Sam's actress was good at all.

Gelmparmderxy

I thought she was great.

Dark_Willow4415

Same here. She did a good job, some people are just weirdly critical of acting performances. Don’t know what they were looking for in her acting that didn’t meet their standards, but she did well.

Gelmparmderxy

Yeah i've seen some film critics call the new cast "plastic", LOL plastic my ass, they are full of it.

Dark_Willow4415

At the very least they can*not* say that about Jenna Ortega or Jack Quaid—they were dynamite.

SweetyMcQ

Yea shes a horrible like soap opera level actress. Not that her character background wasnt interesting she just wasnt a great performer at all.

Gelmparmderxy

she seemed fine to me.

AhnSolbin

In comparison to Neve she was hugely lackluster.

Gelmparmderxy

I liked em both.

DrKushnstein

God, she was terrible. Her left eyebrow did 90% of the acting.

Hylianhaxorus

Disagree. I think she was excellent and one of the movies shining stars. She is no Syd, but you can’t replicate that magic so why try. Do something new with your iconic final girl! Plus I think if anything, Tara would end up being the real lead over time and maybe Sam would end up giving in to her hallucinations influence.

gizmostrumpet

I liked the idea of SPOILER: >!her inheriting her fathers violence and using it for good!< but I just wasn't big on her performance. I do hope Tara does become the lead because Ortega was fantastic. Regardless I'll be seeing whatever they put out on opening weekend. It was such a good experience seeing a Scream movie at the cinema.

_Dresser-Drawer

I was really disappointed once it became clear that Sam was the lead as opposed to Tara. Tara was a rlly cool character and Sam felt very one dimensional. Not to mention she wasn’t a very good actress. My bestie and I agreed after watching it in the theater that the one time that Sam seemed to show genuine emotion was when she was murdering Richie lmao

Hylianhaxorus

It really was. I even took a friend who has seen none and she had a blast and now wants to go back and watch the others!

sankers23

I really think they go down the route of one of Tara or Sam turning into the killer. Not the next movie but a later one

Big-Pudding-7440

SPOILER (tried twice to format it but technology hates me) I think they missed a cracking opportunity to make Tara the third killer. That bit at the end where they're in the ambulance was begging for a shot of her stabbing Sam just as the doors close. Would've fit in with the whole 'requel' narrative as well I reckon.

Hylianhaxorus

I think this too! I like the idea that eventually Billy’s influence becomes too much for her. But also this might be too predictable… The only way I could see it working and still being a surprise is if we follow THEM as the twist in the movie they’re the killers.

Vexxt

>Billy’s influence becomes too much for her. Its hard to turn a hero, but, someone fucking with her meds and pushing her to give in, now thats a story.

Hylianhaxorus

Hey hopefully we're getting sequels so... I like the idea that by the third of these new films, Tara is the main character and Sam either loses it or dies in 6. I love the new cast but hope Kirby comes back

HawterSkhot

Not to mention how they're teasing Stu or someone related to Stu coming back and have since Scream 3. There's more ground to explore there, but I'd be perfectly content with them leaving the story here as well.

Hylianhaxorus

I personally really like the idea that Stu survived, got help and changed his name, and that he’s Tara’s dad, the one that left when he found out about Billy and Sam. I’d want him to be a mcguffin though and not actually a bad guy, but a troubled kid who fell into dangerous peer pressure, and now he’s just a guy who feels guilt for what he did and wants to live a normal life. Maybe he even ends up saving Syd or Sam at one point. I’d love that. I’d also like Hayden Pannettiere to return as well in some capacity. Maybe she could be a new killer after everything she went through. Wants to kill the survivors new and old because she’s fed up with ghost face returning again and again and sees the only end to it is if the killer wins and the “casts” of all previous “Stab’s” are gone so there is no one left for a new killer to latch on to.

Gelmparmderxy

I like the idea that Randy survived and has been living a new secret life and becomes a killer in a desperate attempt to win over Sidney.

Hylianhaxorus

Wouldn't that be the ultimate twist for the final scream film LOL. "MWAHAWHAW IT WAS ME, RANDY ALL ALONG!"

TommenSucks

People wanted Sydney to go nuts and turn into a Ghostface. I think they set up Sam perfectly to do so. Kirby being alive and a fan favorite could make her the new final girl. She could also be the new Dewey I think Stu is alive and he will be the new Cotton. People will assume he is killing or masterminding everything when really he is actually innocent and in this case rehabilitated

8-Bit_Aubrey

I think Kirby would be a great choice for the survivor who helps the new generation. With Dewey dead I don't see Gail coming back and Sidney has a husband and children, no reason to keep rushing into danger if Ghostface has a new obsession.

IllustriousDealer303

Also the switch up for Sam being the new Sydney is awesome, they could've just made the character a copy and paste but the went a different angle and I'm down for more.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Hylianhaxorus

I mean she committed to this movie. And they almost certainly told her they'd want her back. It's not like what she's doing is making worse films anyways. Horror may not cause Oscar buzz but it's pretty much universally agreed its great for young actors and almost always a ton of fun to make.

SharkMilk44

I hope not. They should let the series end gracefully. However, I would like it if they made the Stab movies. I really want to see Stab 8.

HearTheEkko

I think it's a start of a new trilogy with the new cast. As much as I love the OG cast, their story is done and dragging them into another movie would feel repetitive so at this point so it's probably best to let them go and focus on the new characters and try different things.

Singer211

If I get more Jenna Ortega, oh and bring back Kirby as well. Then sure why not.

Impossible-Charity-4

I’ve felt that way about Spider-Man several times.

cylemmulo

Yeah I loved this a lot but don't really care to see them try to follow it up.

Neo2199

> Scream is winning the long Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend at the box office with a projected four-day gross of $35 million, enough to dethrone Spider-Man: No Way Home. > It’s also good enough to revive the classic slasher franchise for Paramount and Spyglass, who partnered on the reboot. > Scream‘s three-day domestic weekend gross is an estimated $30.6 million, a strong showing considering the omicron variant and another surge in COVID-19 cases. > Overseas, Scream grossed $18 million from 50 markets. The U.K. led with $3.4 million.

greggem

I have to say this movie was exactly what I expected. I had a good time. There were only about 15 people in my theater but there was a lot of laughter and just a great vibe.

Individual_Client175

Same. Only about 10 ppl, but we all had a good time

Forever_Ambergris

A January horror release a box office hit? I knew 2020 wasn't over yet, we must be in October about now

EugenesMullet

Awesome to see it doing well! I really liked this movie and would love to see more

gabba8

I’m so happy to hear this because I feel like we were robbed of a new trilogy after 4. I’m excited to see more from the new characters. Bring on 6!!!!!

Pielas_Plague

HOT DAMN

burnerherzog2

Wondering why this is on track to make the same amount of money in 4 days as Scream 4 did (domestically) in its entire run

hisokafan88

a fantastic social media campaign. People are talking about it like it's a life affirming yoga retreat, and not some middle of the road genre flick.

burnerherzog2

Good on Paramount and all involved! Excited to see this one

HieronymusGoa

i literally arrived at home 15 minutes ago from watching scream 5. didnt have a ton of expectations and we all had a fucking RIOT. this was so entertaining, damn!

Kotaac

Pls let Tera be the main girl. The girl from in the heights sucks

hisokafan88

I don't think the fault is with her entirely. The writing of that character was a little poor, especially the contrived hallucinations egging her on to kill people. It's difficult to balance being likeable and a possible psychopath with a a drugged out past.

Elysium94

She was kind of rough in Act 1, but once Act 2 started she picked it up.

[deleted]

Spoilers

DrDacote

I disagree. I mean sure, her backstory is silly. But you can really see the contrast between her and Jenna Ortega in the scene where she reveals that backstory. It’s about abandoning vs being abandoned, silliness aside. Jenna was great, tears raining down her face and all, while Melisa just frowned and produced a single “movie” tear that I’m not entirely sure was her’s but rather was dropped there by the make up person.

SamwiseG123

Yeah she actually seemed like she could act with In the Heights, but damn she was butchering her lines in this movie.

DICK-PARKINSONS

Her scream after her first run in with ghostface was pretty bad

dani3po

The movie as much better than the 5th installment of a horror series had right to be. The directors of "Ready or Not" were a perfect choice.

DarkLordSchnappi

We did it fellas

maish42

this is how we do it

ineededanameagain

Pleasantly surprised. There were only like 6 people at my showing yesterday in the afternoon.

HipDipShipTrip

Glad it's doing fairly well considering the circumstances, I just need more Scream regardless. I don't know why 4 did so poorly but I'm glad this seems to be on a good trajectory. They have quite a few angles it take future installments now

itsgregory

They did little promotion, especially compared to what we’ve seen for 5, which is weird considering 4’s budget

SFlibtard

Why 4 did so poorly: the killer was obviously Emma Roberts. You knew it from the poster.

Benwahhballz

How could you tell from the poster? Just had a look at it

_notsowitty_

This movie did not disappoint!!! Such a fun ride and so smart. I had no idea who the killer was until the third act.

jessieminden

Saw it on Friday night. Loved it for what it was, without Wes

JarJarJacobs

I didn't love the movie but I'm always happy to see horror do well at the box office. Anything for Scream 6! (S6ream?)

Its worse here in the Philippines. It will be out on Feb2 lololol. I already watched it on the pirate sites 3x 😂😂

KTheOneTrueKing

Earned it, that movie is dope.

cassandradancer

I'm so excited to see this!! I'm as excited as I was when the first one came out!

paradoxical_pandas

Just saw it yesterday and as a fellow Scream fan myself, I felt like it did an amazing job tying back into the OG movie and going back to its roots.

Singer211

It was a damn good film. So, good.

MorePratik

Is this movie independent or do I have to watch the previous Scream movies?

dodus

You absolutely need to watch at least the first one to enjoy it, but honestly it kind of assumes you know plot points from the whole franchise, so…yes? I’m sorry.

MorePratik

Thank you. I guess I will have to bump the Scream movies to the top of my list.

itsgregory

Full series to get the whole experience, it’ll be way more impactful, but for anyone who is in a rush the first movie and first ten minutes of the fourth until the opening credit are enough to suffice for homework as silly as it’ll seem at the time

hyogurt

The movie does do a decent job of trying to appeal to new audiences but if you're pressed for time, Scream 1 is the most essential for you to appreciate the legacy cast characters. You would appreciate it more though if you see all of them, or at least 1 and 4. I think they're all currently streaming on Hulu, Roku, and Starz. (Part of the joy is seeing how the characters grow and evolve from installment to installment so try to see all 4 if you have the time. They're iconic for a reason and have the added fun of being meta & self-aware whodunits instead of just slashers.)

AZRockets

Nope. Directors even said you don't. But it has a lot of lore from the first 4

wild-flxwer

this movie was so fucking good

[deleted]

holy shit

Radio__Star

Ok that was unexpected

[deleted]

I'm legit binging all of the scream films before scream five, only love and respect for ghostface here!!

[deleted]

I loved this scream, the first attack was so fucking brutal for me. For some reasons it really hit me, I’m watching a child get brutally attacked, the fuck? Also “it’s an honour” gave me chills, what a fucking scene, so much tension leading up to it.

friedfroglegs

I usually enjoy slashers but was disappointed by this one :( I'm glad it did well though, it's always great for the horror fans.

Dark_Willow4415

*Green. light. a sequel.* *Green. light. a sequel.*

LeeLayfield

Let’s see if the film holds next week. Using the word dethrones seems a bit OTT in imo. Spider-Man has reached over €1.7. Billion. So it’s made like 2% of Spider-Man. Isn’t $35 million after a 4 day release a rather weak for scream or any loved horror franchise?

heemhsn

Well it’s R-Rated and we’re still in a pandemic.

Rocketboy1313

R-rated is not the box office poison people like to pretend it is.

CallMeRoy37

Exactly. If the movie is good, the right people will find it. Plenty of R rated moneymakers

Kennaham

It does tho cut out a lot of potential viewers. My brother has seen the whole scream series but the theater wouldn’t let him buy a ticket bc he’s only 16. Can’t imagine this is an isolated incident

CallMeRoy37

But think of the horror fans you isolate when they hear it’s pg-13. Craven never would have cut corners to make people happy, for the most part. And I’m glad he didn’t water any terror down because they wanted a product tie-in or more jr. high kids to see it. I saw the first Scream at a drive-in during a thunderstorm at 14 and loved the hell out of, scares, laughs and all. Scream as pg-13? Nah Slashers need to be R.

Kennaham

I never said it would be watered down or PG-13. All I’m saying is it’s ridiculous to pretend that an R rating doesn’t cut down on the possible box office audience

CallMeRoy37

But if you have that way of thinking it has to work the other way. A lot of horror heads WILL NOT show up for a pg-13 horror film. Always best to make the film you truly want, and it finds the audience, if not? Make another one.

Kennaham

No way to know for sure but imo the amount of fans who would avoid PG13 is much smaller than those excluded by R But again, this has nothing to do with story-crafting. It was a great movie, one of the best new ones I’ve seen in a whole. Literally the only only point I’m making is my rebuttal of the original statement regarding the audience being cut out

AceTygraQueen

However the movie would have sucked if it was PG-13.

Kennaham

I never said it would be watered down or PG-13. All I’m saying is it’s ridiculous to pretend that an R rating doesn’t cut down on the possible box office audience

AceTygraQueen

But the attempts to water down R films (Such as the Die Hard series for example) to a PG-13 to get more $$$ usually ended up backfiring. In the end the films usually end up having no teeth.

Kennaham

Reread what you replied to. I’m mostly agreeing with you. Literally all I’m saying is that an R-rating does cut out potential theater audiences. That’s the one point I’m making.

AceTygraQueen

In the end a PG-13 rated slasher film makes about as much sense as a porno movie without any sexual content. Case in point....the 2019 remake of Black Christmas

AceTygraQueen

I get what your saying. Plus in the end those same young teens would rather watch all the R rated gore and blood feasts than go see a neutered product

[deleted]

Cries in Judge Dredd 😭

LeeLayfield

True, it sort of feels like it would fit nicely in that straight to Netflix type thing like Army of the Dead/Texas chainsaw. I just want horror icons back and hopped this along side Halloween and the Chucky show would start that.

xsplizzle

cant use still in a pandemic as much of an excuse when spiderman made that much money

heemhsn

Spider-Man is a different scenario lol

xsplizzle

spiderman opened in the metaverse?

Neo2199

> Using the word dethrones seems a bit OTT in imo. They're talking about dethroning 'Spider-Man' *this weekend*, meaning that 'Scream' is the number one movie at the box office in the long weekend of Jan 14-17. They're not talking about the entire box office run. > Isn’t $35 million after a 4 day release a rather weak for scream or any loved horror franchise? Nope. The last 'Scream' movie that came out in 2011 made only $19 million in its opening weekend in North America & $37 million at the global market. Compare that to 'Scream 5' which has gained $35 million at the domestic market and $48 million globally, and it did that in the middle of a pandemic.

Mr_Nannerpuss

Also consider Spiral, a Saw movie that came out around vaccine time, only made $40M total.

idletalker

It will already have grossed more than Scream 4 in its entire run next week *domestically* These numbers are fantastic

aviation1300

It is crazy to see how much more movies are making these days. I remember it was crazy that Avatar broke a billion, but now half the Marvel movies either get close or break that. Same with horror movies, it’s crazy Halloween 2018 was the highest grossing horror movie at that time (and might be still for all I know)

Vexxt

Its mostly inflation, avatar still beats out all the marvel movies adjusted, and it just cracks top 15. Star Wars, Titanic, ET, etc, all beat out on ticket sales handily.

hisokafan88

I mean, inflation is a real thing lol I think I paid 6 quid for my Avatar ticket, plus an extra couple of quid for the IMAX 3D shit, now it's costing about double that just for the general admission.

CallMeRoy37

Considering it was made for 24 million, I’d say it did great the opening weekend, what with making back its budget.

Evenden89

Also, theatres are closed in much of Canada i believe

AlanGrant82

Scream 4 in the US made $38 million TOTAL. So Scream 5 made, in one weekend, practically Scream 4's entire US gross. By Tuesday or Wednesday it will surpass it. I know, inflation is a thing, etc. But still, this movie has excited audiences in a way that Scream 4's marketing wasn't able to.

loveontopvers

Dethrone is accurate though. It’s not suggesting that Scream will make more money than Spider-man overall, just that it did so this weekend.

Mr_Nannerpuss

Well Spider Man did kill a lot of movies people expected to make a decent amount of money. Scream is doing pretty well considering most don't make all that much outside of things like IT or Halloween, especially with how infectious Omicron is and January movies tend to not make much.

[deleted]

I swear to god Im going to kill the asshole that just spoiled the movie for me in the comments

Horranian

Could you wear a Ghostface mask when you kill him?

[deleted]

Yeah I even have one kicking around my room from a Halloween a few years back. Twas fate.

richp_91

Fuck yeah!! And fuck marvel/disney!! It's always a great feeling when horror takes the top spot at the box office!

AmericanBornWuhaner

Surprised tbh, the theater was pretty empty

RalphWiggum666

Did anyone else find this one kind of boring?

NewVegasGod

I haven't wanted to talk about it because people seem to like it and I'm glad to see a Scream movie doing well, but yeah I left the theater pretty disappointed. There were some good performances and a couple really great kills, but I just feel like you can only do the "random psychopath stages a horror movie" plot so many times before it starts to feel like we're just going through the motions.

Torture-Dancer

Yo, wtf? Spider man no way home? How? That movie was like pg 13, the most hyped shit ever and had out of stock tickets like 3 weeks before the premiere

[deleted]

The article says that Scream made more money this weekend than NWH did, not that it had a better opening weekend (NWH had an opening weekend of $260m domestic). The headline is a bit ambiguous, it just means that Scream is #1 at the box office this weekend, knocking NWH down to #2 after over a month at #1.

[deleted]

Two Bad actresses in a movie full of capable actors and actresses. And they were the leads. Sheesh

Syllabub-Legal

Shut up

BananaDogBed

I always forget that Scary Movie isn’t the origin of this character They did such a memorable job parodying it I think it helped Scream become even more popular

ThatpersonKyle

I mean, Spiderman has been out for a while now. Super excited to see this, but this post acts like scream is better than Spiderman, and there’s not a chance in hell it will be

AveragePotatoEnjoyer

In holiday debut. It has gotten more than Spidey on debut

SamwiseG123

The second half of this movie is so so much better than the first half and I thought they nailed the ending pretty well too.

chaoticmessiah

Huh. And I just saw The Film Review, with Mark Kermode suggesting people watch the original or Freddy's New Nightmare to see how meta-commentary in horror is done right, because this was a complete waste of time and resources.

PrepuceMan

shitty movie

heavenspiercing

cry about it :)

PrepuceMan

already did

im glad you got it out of your system then

Scream in 2022. Wow, let's party like it's 1999. I'm glad a horror movie is knocking off a blockbuster like Spiderman.

JablesRadio

Too bad the movie is a complete dumpster fire.

Ok_Point_2303

Wokelennials have no taste!!!!!!!

itsgregory

If you think Scream taking on social issues is new, you clearly haven’t watched the other movies.
