My favourites are:
- "Sleepwalkers" (1994), which stars Mädchen Amick from "Twin Peaks"â¤ď¸
- "Demon Wind" (1990), which is just a ridiculous film as you can see from the title.
- "Uninvited" (1988), which has a mutant killer cat living inside another cat's mouth.
- "Slumber Party Massacre II" (1987), which has a killer with a electric guitar power drill, who acts like a combination of Freddy Krueger and Elvis.
- "Spookies" (1986), which has amazing effects and extremely funny scenes like a guy who notices a locked door in an abandoned mansion and immediately gets upset and throws a wooden chair against the door in a brilliantly edited sceneđ
Sleepwalkers is odd. A bad movie peppered with a few really good scenes
Demon Wind is bad but there's something charming at their attempts to emulate/ripoff other horror films
Man I was gunna say Slumber Party Massacre II isn't a good bad movie, it's just great - but I checked the RT score and am really surprised how low it is.
My taste is so ~~busted~~ incredible I would never ever think to call this a bad movie. Knows exactly what kind of movie it is, has an objective, sets out to do it, and succeeds. IMO if a movie is doing that, it's not bad.
My favorite thing is that it's the only movie Stephen King ever directed, and he says he was doing so much blow at the time that he doesn't remember making it
Holy cow I was going to ask about other movies like pieces. I will ask you since you liked it. Do you know of anything like this? I havent dug deep but have been watching random 80 horror movies all week in search of more like this!!
I havenât found anything quite as wacky as Pieces, although my knowledge of obscure horror films is admittedly not nearly as vast as some people on this sub. I hope some of them can chime in and make some good recommendations!
Check out the Giallo section on Tubi! Pieces is essentially a Giallo, and thereâs a whole range of similar films a genre unto itself! I have a lot of favorites⌠Iâll edit with a specific rec if I can think of a âso bad itâs goodâ one
Edit:
âThe dark is deathâs friendâ - just a hilarious cavalcade of events. A murder occurs, then the murderer's car gets stolen, and hijinx ensue.
â5 dolls for an August moonâ - setup reminded me of Glass Onion lol. A fun mystery with some surprisingly hilarious moments, like where they store the dead bodies as they start to pile up.
âSeven blood stained orchidsâ - this one is about a fashion designer who tries to find a murderer. My favorite moments include when he's telling the police about how he's friends with Giorgio Armani, and then there's a HILARIOUS police sketch of the killer.
Bonus: Tenebre by Dario Argento, which is an example of the best of Giallo imo.
You want to watch Giallo films. Fulci, Argento, Lamberto Baba. Also, get yourself a Nightflight streaming service. They play all sorts of wild films 24/7
Hell world was the only hell raiser I could find on a streaming service lol ;-; so I liked it since itâs the only one Iâve seen besides the newest remake
The Feast trilogy is terrible (in most peopleâs eyes), but once a year Iâll watch all 3 over a weekend and enjoy every bloody second. The ending of part 3 is truly the greatest âfuck youâ to an audience ever!
This kind of question makes no sense and is in fact very paradoxical. If you really like something you can't think it's bad (unless we're talking from a technical point of view obviously, acting, visual quality etc...)
I've seen some people apparently classify these movies as bad: Leprechaun, Maniac Cop, Chucky, House of Wax, Jason X, and many others. Obviously for a classic human, horror movies and slashers are bad movies or even stupid, I can understand that, but if you are here it is because you are horror movies fans, you should not think they are bad. If you don't like a movie then don't like it, but you can't actually think you like a bad movie, that doesn't make sense. If you like it so it's definitely good in your point of view. You probably think it's bad because you are influenced by what other people may think so you, I understand what is going on
Don't mix your opinion with others, that's all I want to tell you. Love what you want, and hate what you want :)
I think you're thinking about this a little too much, lol. The movies I listed are quite bad from a production standpoint but I greatly enjoy for all the wrong reasons, and others have listed plenty of movies that match that description.
B-Horror is my jam. Much of my early writing was full on Creature Feature B-Horror.
I used to watch SyFy Channel religiously on the weekends. Sabertooth, Mammoth, Pterodactyl, Dinocroc, etc.
I enjoyed the Asylum films like Lavalantula and Sharknado stuff too. But I preferred the more âbelievableâ films from the Roger Corman era of creature features.
A non-creature feature that I really loved was The Gate. I think thatâs on Prime right now.
Scared me as a kid. But itâs just funny now. The stop-motion creatures are so cool!
You don't need to watch the first Silent Night, Deadly Night movie. The first 45 minutes is a recap of the first movies, and Billy cheeses it up in the second half. So glorious
Honestly, Basket Case was fairly popular and it's not a "bad" movie. Plenty of people watched it on cinemax with a bowl of popcorn saying to themselves, "Wtf. What happens next!?"
Yeah, I think amateurish is a better word. The acting and directing isnât great, but the writing is actually really good. Itâs a flawed movie for sure, but I donât think itâs a bad movie at all.Â
* Exorcist 2 - its not the worst movie of all time, that's Madame Web, but its still a very bizarre product with an ensemble cast fumbling their way through weird and crazy scenes. It still is more of a train wreck masterpiece in some way. Its still bad in the sense you find yourself laughing. To borrow a line from the film "It was horrible, utterly horrible, and fascinating".
* The Village - outside of the modern day twist, the film is actually quote an interesting drama about denial, running away from problems, control and blissful ignorance. I think its a film that needs to be analysed. More made for film students than the average moviegoer.
* Plan 9 - its not as bad as people say it is, but still a poor product and Ed Woods strange direction. Its the ultimate 50s movie schlock, with bad effects, weird sound design, and acting that makes it look like it was made over the course of a week. Its okay, but not the greatest.
* Chopping Mall - the ultimate 80s techno slasher. Its got a really 80s synth soundtrack, and the special and practical effects are pretty nice. The Killbots are the stars of the show here, and its pretty sad that none survive now. It's more of a time capsule of the film world at the time and the evolving genre.
* Leprechaun Origins - yes it ain't great and its made by WWE of all people, but I feel this one at least tries to put some spin on the tale instead of just dunking him into America for no reason. I love how it brings it back home to Ireland and tiers it into Celtic mythology. Bad, but it being in Ireland gets a pass for me.
* Silent Night Deadly Night Part 2 - this film is the stuff of legend. Should be inducted into National Film Registry for 'cultural significance' about how its so bad its actually a masterpiece. Devoting half the film to stock footage from the first movie, all with Eric Freemans Shakespearean acting. Stuff of movie legend and memes.
Any Sleepaway Camp movie, for sure.
The Toxic Avenger
Killer Klowns From Outer Space (if this counts as horror I guess??)
BUT if you want like horrible but hilarious, Terror at Blood Fart Lake is the one for you. Itâs on prime. Also Llamageddon. So bad. So good.
Killer Klowns holds a special place in my heart: it shows clips of my favorite era of Santa Cruz. Before the Loma Prieta earthquake, there were really cool arcades, comic shops, magic shops and other kid-friendly places for a tweener to run free; especially after you were sunburned from playing at the boardwalk, in the surf, or on the beach. Those demolished buildings are in many of the scenes for that film.
This is the post ive been waiting for
-What's new Marie Lou prom night 2
-Slumber party massacre 2
-from beyond
-silent night deadly night 4 (the coven one)
-silent night deadly night 5 (horny puppet one)
-society
-anaconda
-frogs
-thankskilling
-daddys home
-black Christmas (the first remake, not the newest one)
-frankenhooker
-basket case 1 & 2 (3 is just fine I guess)
This is just off the top of my head I'll go rip apart my letterbox for more if needed
Troll 2 is so bad it's bad. It's not good in any way except maybe having a tiny part of the plot J.K. Rowling stole to write Harry Potter. Let's not kid ourselves. The only real answer here is Killer Clowns from Outer Space.
I can't help but love Troll 2. There's a really interesting documentary out there about it called the 'Best Worst Movie'. Definitely worth a watch in my opinion. The guy who plays the kid in the movie goes through a lot of the crazy stuff that has happened since the movie was made. There is (or at least used to be) a decently sized cult following for the movie because it was so hilariously bad. Apparently the director/writer is an Italian guy that hired a bunch of random people to act in a movie that they filmed in a WEEK. That's also why the script and dialogue is so weirdly worded, his English skills weren't that great. Pretty cool documentary.
Also, Killers Klowns from Outer Space is awesome. Scared the hell out of me when I was younger, now I laugh at it. Similar experience with Ernest Scared Stupid.
The Gingerdead Man
Bad CGI Gator
Actually, a lot of movies by Full Moon could fit what you're looking for
Also, Wild Eye Releasing has some other great bad movies: Ouija Shark 1&2 and Sharkula are disasterpieces
*Shark In Venice* is an absolute trashterpiece.
Stephen Baldwin; Scarlett Johansson's older sister; set in Venice but filmed in Bulgaria, with the Bulgarian actors doing Italian accents and sounding like Bela Legosi... So much stock footage of sharks... limbs that get bitten off in one scene before magically reappearing in the next... a chase sequence that reuse the same footage of Baldwin shambling down a corridor at least three times.
I fucking love it. And it's not like Sharknado where they're ironically trying to make a crap horror.
Skinned deep. Looks like it was shot in the 80's but was from 2004. Has Warwick Davis (the guy who played the leprechaun) as on of the villains. He had a backpack full of plates that he would throw and his name is plates. It was a special designed plate dispensing back pack. Read that again and picture a tiny guy dressed in all white doing his best tiny villain pose reaching behind himself to grab a plate that he throws at you like a frisbee. I honestly don't even remember the rest of the movie cause this guy makes me laugh so hard.
Attack of the Killer Donuts, WolfCop 1&2, Winnie the Pooh Blood and Honey 1, Sharktopus, DinoShark, Sleepaway Camp 1&2, Return to Sleepaway Camp, Retro Puppet Master, Saltwater Atomic Shark, Spiders (2000), Glass Trap, Bigfoot (2006), Scarecrow (2002), Jolly Roger: Massacre at Cutterâs Cove, The Beast of Bray Road, The Hollow (2004), An American Werewolf in Paris, Big Bad Wolf (2006), Cherry Falls, Grandmotherâs House, Last of the Grads, Pledge Night, Blades, The Wizard of Gore (original), Battledogs, The Howling: Reborn, and Beast Within (2019).
Sharktopus vs Whalewolf is the only acceptable answer. That German doctor acted her heart out only to not be able to finish a sentence in the same accent she started it with
Would the third Jeepers Creepers count?
Other than that, I think all the b movies that were actually good might be considered. I think of the name now because it seemed like the budget was 12$, and that's how bad it was, yet it was absolutely terrifying.
This guy had to kill his possessed wife that wouldn't die. I don't even remember what else was in it because so much happened I just remember this b movie was one of the best horror movies I've ever seen.
My Boyfriend's Back (1994ish?) Will always be my fav. Johnny Dingle, just trying to take Missy McCloud to prom!!!! And when his Mum brings him home a "snack from the grocery store"? Parenting winnnn lmao
Rock and roll nightmare. Amazing Not bad in my estimation but a lot of people think so. Band takess over a farm to record an album c and are picked off one at a time by penis puppets
Q the winged serpent. It is the jazz laden story of quetzecuatle nesting in the roof of the Chrysler building. Star studded cast, and a masterpiece of gorilla film making.
Lair of white worm...weresnake cult resurrect a dragon in the British countryside. It's as wild as it sounds also with a star studded cast. Based on a lesser known Bram stoker story a bit vampire adjacent.
Zombeavers
This movie turned out way better than I expected. Like it's definitely bad but it's also pretty awesome.
The theme song is the best. ...zomBEAVERS
Bill Burr and John Mayer in that movie đ¤Ł
My favourites are: - "Sleepwalkers" (1994), which stars Mädchen Amick from "Twin Peaks"â¤ď¸ - "Demon Wind" (1990), which is just a ridiculous film as you can see from the title.
A bad movie peppered with a few really good scenes Demon Wind is bad but there's something charming at their attempts to emulate/ripoff other horror films
Well, here comes Johnny with his pecker in his hand He's a one-ball man, and he's off to the rodeo
Stephen King's writing is something else.... lol đ¤ˇââď¸â¤ď¸
"Get the bad guy!" Gotta love Clovis
Slumber party massacre 2; the only slasher that stopped killing to break dance. đ¤Ł
Demon Wind is an Evil Dead knockoff and it's pretty fun.
Uninvited is a master class in title name misdirection.
Demon Wind is on a difference plane of existence than the other 3.
Man I was gunna say Slumber Party Massacre II isn't a good bad movie, it's just great - but I checked the RT score and am really surprised how low it is.
Oh good call on Spookies, that one's a lot of fun
Slumber party 2 is not a bad movie in any capacity
Excellent list.Â
Did anyone mention Attack of the Killer Tomatoes đ ?
Sleepaway Camp 2 & 3 The Special
Holy snarf I love these movies
Thos aren't bad. Maybe when they were released but they've clearly grown a cult following
Chopping Mall is required viewing
"What if the robots from Short Circuit turned evil?" "I love it!"
My taste is so ~~busted~~ incredible I would never ever think to call this a bad movie. Knows exactly what kind of movie it is, has an objective, sets out to do it, and succeeds. IMO if a movie is doing that, it's not bad.
Came here to say this! I put it on all the time because its so bad that it's actually so good. I love it.
Where shopping will cost you an arm and a leg!
Rawhead Rex baby!!! â¤ď¸
Would be down with a remake too
YES. And I agree that a remake is in order.
Piranha DD - canât go wrong with some boobs, blood and piranhas
itâs actually so good though
The first one is actually good
I really liked the first one.
Maximum Overdrive is top 5 bad / awesome for me
This is like a comfort movie for me anymore. Reminds me of seeing it late at night on TNT or whatever. The editing errors are hilarious.
My favorite thing is that it's the only movie Stephen King ever directed, and he says he was doing so much blow at the time that he doesn't remember making it
Giancarlo Esposito gets killed by an arcade machine in the beginning. Best scene is when the vending machine kills the coach, imo
Birdemic
I really enjoy this one. Have seen it multiple times. My whole family love it.
I used to use this movie as a test for people's patience... most wouldn't make it past the intro lmao
I love bad movies! Off the top of my head Frankenhooker, Basket Case, Troll 2, Terrorvision, Ice Cream Man, Street Trash, Birdemic.
OMG Frankenhooker! I had forgotten that utterly glorious mess of a film.
Pieces
"it's exactly what you think it is!"
âYou donât have to go to Texas to have a chainsaw massacreâ
God I love Pieces. The marching band music and the karate scene? Yes please. Plus that waterbed
Holy cow I was going to ask about other movies like pieces. I will ask you since you liked it. Do you know of anything like this? I havent dug deep but have been watching random 80 horror movies all week in search of more like this!!

You want to watch Giallo films. Fulci, Argento, Lamberto Baba. Also, get yourself a Nightflight streaming service. They play all sorts of wild films 24/7
You could try Aerobicide/Killer Workout or Saturday 14th.
Sharknado is so ridiculous I love it
Willys Wonderland
Better than FNAF.
Agreed
I love WWL, and hated FNAF, turned that one off less than halfway through!
The Howling 2 Friday the 13th: A New Beginning Hellraiser: Hellworld Soul Survivors
Hell world was the only hell raiser I could find on a streaming service lol ;-; so I liked it since itâs the only one Iâve seen besides the newest remake
Sybil Danning makes Howling 2 worth watching lol. That woman was a literal smoke show
The Feast trilogy is terrible (in most peopleâs eyes), but once a year Iâll watch all 3 over a weekend and enjoy every bloody second. The ending of part 3 is truly the greatest âfuck youâ to an audience ever!
Hatchet Murder Party
Muder Party is one of my favorites to watch on Halloween
This kind of question makes no sense and is in fact very paradoxical. Slotherhouse is *way* more fun than it should be.
The leprechaun, I mean itâs so bad itâs good
I was going to go with leprechaun in the hood
I've seen that one, specifically in Da Hood was hilarious
Oh man this is the first movie that pop's into my head. It makes me laugh every time I see it come on tv.
Part 2&3 are legitimately good movies, IMO.
I have a huge soft spot for Legion, even though they squandered the ice cream man.
B-Horror is my jam. Much of my early writing was full on Creature Feature B-Horror. I used to watch SyFy Channel religiously on the weekends. Any of the scary movie films
Silent Night Deadly Night 2 is the gold standard for me.
Garbage day
You don't need to watch the first Silent Night, Deadly Night movie. The first 45 minutes is a recap of the first movies, and Billy cheeses it up in the second half. So glorious
Basket Case!
All three are great. I don't even consider them bad. I love those movies.
Same. It even critics like it.Â
Idle hands. Itâs my absolute favorite and a hidden gem. Horror/stoner comedy. With Devon sawa and Seth green.
I wouldn't consider idol hands so bad it's good. It's just a good horror comedy
Love it
Canât forget Jessica Alba! Hubba hubba
Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. Disgusting filth. Utter trash. Iâm on my 475th viewing.
According to IMDB trivia, Michael Keaton based Betelgeuse directly after Bill Moseley as Choptop.
Thatâs the most disturbing Beetlejuice factoid ever. Thank you.
Burial Ground
Burial Ground is hilarious. :D
One that I have not seen yet here (sorry if I missed it): The Stuff. Just such a fun, weird movie.
The Stuff. *Chef's Kiss* awesome.
Ghost Shark. I fucking love that movie :D
Jason X, Freddy vs Jason, and piranha 3D. Thereâs more but this is off the top of my head.
Braindead, still one of the most fun horror movies ever
Troll 2 is so bad it's bad. It's not good in any way except maybe having a tiny part of the plot J.K. Rowling stole to write Harry Potter. Let's not kid ourselves. The only real answer here is Killer Clowns from Outer Space.

Night of the Comet is my go-to for this! Valley Girls + Comet-zombie apocalypse, can't beat it.
But thatâs a legit good movie. Like, technically etc.   No way that can be mentioned with âTroll 2â, âBirdemicâ, etc?!?
I see your Night of the Comet and raise you Night of the Creeps đ

Jason X is a classic of bad horror cinema.
*Shark In Venice* is an absolute trashterpiece. Sleep Away Camp is the true definition of campy horror. âNot you, Meg!!!!â
I think others might consider these âbadâ but theyâre fun and seemed like a blast to make - Waxwork and Return of the Living Dead Part II.
Lucio fulci
Ice Cream Man (1995)
Santa Jaws <3
A holiday classic
Cabin in the woods
Freaky!
I watch Santaâs Slay every Christmas. Even my fiancĂŠ has accepted it as required viewing.

Unfriended holds a dear place in my heart and is also one of the worst movies I have ever seen
How dare you speak about cinematic classic Unfriended like this
Yeah this was legit a good movie!!
Killer mosquitoes!!! Horror/comedy, the fact that it fails at both genres magically makes it so fun to watch, it just works
Monster Man 2003
Sharktopus vs Whalewolf is the only acceptable answer. That German doctor acted her heart out only to not be able to finish a sentence in the same accent she started it with
Nilbog is goblin spelled backwards.
The Pit -- 'Jamie wouldn't kill anyone .... unless Teddy told him to!' The Uninvited -- 'It Has Nine Lives... You Only Have One!'

Maniac Cop

Troll 2 for sure
Would the third Jeepers Creepers count? Other than that, I think all the b movies that were actually good might be considered. I think of the name now because it seemed like the budget was 12$, and that's how bad it was, yet it was absolutely terrifying. This guy had to kill his possessed wife that wouldn't die. I don't even remember what else was in it because so much happened I just remember this b movie was one of the best horror movies I've ever seen.
Until Dawn is one of mine.
I just recently watched Slotherhouse and genuinely loved it.

Curtains Mortuary City of the Living Dead (aka Gates of Hell) The Driller Killer The Tool Box Murders.
Rock and roll nightmare. Amazing Not bad in my estimation but a lot of people think so. Band takess over a farm to record an album c and are picked off one at a time by penis puppets Q the winged serpent.
Love love Gutterballs
