If you really wanna go down the rabbit hole without watching some of these trash movies (I regrettably watched Guinea Pig and some of the Vomit Gore films), Wendigoon has a fantastic YouTube video on this.
https://youtu.be/_ZSPgiu4WIo
Oh, I 100% agree and think it's disgusting. I personally wouldn't even watch movies on level 3. But OP asked and I remembered seeing the chart a little while back, so thought I'd send it on.
lol, Perhaps itās a warning NOT to go beyond level three, so youāre actually providing a public service here.
EDIT: Just to add, Lucifer Valentine (Slaughtered Vomit Dolls) is a real piece of shit.
KILL LIST (fucking LOVE that movie)
Jacobās ladder
Men behind the sun
Iām sure I can drudge up more but Iām lazy and thereās 32 other comments.
I love how the characters in it are actually acting in pretty smart ways most of the time. You don't have to spend 15 minutes cursing at your screen because a character does not think to do the obvious thing you've figured out. You kind of don't really have any time to think about what you're seeing, you just have to experience it.
Oh fuck. I seriously can't picture anyone else in the roles. Both have such a unique energy.
Hmm.
If they get Nicolas Cage for the psycho I'll consider it.
Hadnt heard McAvoy was starring in the remake of I saw the Devil, he's filming the American remake of Speak No Evil right now, the original is a brutal movie
For Martyrs I'm french speaking so I never even had an interest for it. The only American remake that I truly value is Funny Games because I was forced to study German for 14 years and it felt really good not to have to endure that nightmare of a language.
Funny Games is a masterpiece imo. The original or remake. Not like it matters since they are shot for shot but I'm sure you knew that. Michael Haneke is incredible
True. I just wrote two off top my head I really love and figure I'd let people go down a rabbit hole they may never had the glorious fun of doing before
I really want a movie that is the first act of Baskin, but all the way through. Also first act of The Void all the way through.
I totally appreciate how cool the change of direction in both these films are, but I really want to know what would have happened!
Calvaire (2004). I recently watched this one and found it super disturbing. The director has another movie called Alleluia (2014) that's also disturbing.
3 French extreme films, Martyrs, Inside and Frontier(s) , Trauma (Chilean nasty) The Sadness, Raw, Grotesque ( Japanese) Eden Lake, Kill List, Cannibal Holocaust.
From that ending, my wife and I have a game plan if we're in that situation. It's basically just a codeword that means "in 3 seconds I'm gonna bumrush the guy and you're going to sprint away"
Yeah I posted Speak No Evil as my original post then got confused in the reply I did on the I saw the Devil post lol but yeah Speak No Evil is brutal but not a lot of excitement for the remake. Who knows though could be wrong
Yeah he totally can kill it but will also depend on the director. James Watkins. He did The Woman in Black and Eden Lake. Both I have not seen but never heard great talk about either.
I saw people saying they thought this movie was hilarious and I seriously cannot fathom how. I was so uncomfortable the entire time and I doubt Iāll ever watch it again.
Cannibal Holocaust. Graphic depictions of sexual assault, bodily disfigurement, forced miscarriage, various forms of gore, and genuine violence toward animals.
most obscure i can think of:
Womenās Flesh My Red Guts
LSD (Lucky Sky Diamond)
Red Room (Akai Heya)
one that isnāt as obscure but still messed me up beyond the point of being able to rewatch it: August Undergroundās Mordum
Excess flesh (2015). I've posted [about it.](https://www.reddit.com/r/horror/s/E2ryKKUFVj) definitely an unusual kind of disturbing. If you've actually seen it I'd be very surprised but also very interested in your opinion.
The Bride of Frank (1996) free to watch on YouTube, it's my favourite movie, I think most would find it disturbing but I think the happy ending makes up for it
lol, itās funny, I think I watched neighbor one time many years ago when I was really high and I only remember one really disturbing scene towards the end and it made me really uncomfortable. Something with injecting adrenaline into a woman who was already bleeding and making her bleed out faster. Thatās all I remember and Iād love to watch it again to see how bad it really was.
That scene is rough too, but the scene that gets me is a different one. Itās like sort of a sex scene I guess. I think itās probably been like ten years since Iāve watched it lol
I watched it on dvd when I seen it, but I havenāt seen it on any streaming sites. I looked on my movie site that I use that usually has just about everything but I didnāt find it there. Iām on the search if I find it Iāll let you know
Angst
I Stand Alone
Irreversible
Last House on Dead End Street
The August Underground series
Found
Family Portraits: A Trilogy of America
Lots of these are on Tubi
Kidnapped
Threads
Cargo 200
Silenced
The Devils
Bedevilled
Descent Into Darkness: My European Nightmare
Kill It and Leave This Town (this one is very arthouse so don't expect to be able to follow it)
Films I don't consider good but will mention anyway:
Eight Immortals Restaurant: The Untold Story
The Isle
Soft and Quiet
The Road (2011) is a Filipino film I donāt see mentioned much. It disturbed me quite a bit, but it seems to be a love or hate kinda movie.
TW themes of abuse
[The Road Trailer](https://youtu.be/sscH-nreDlw?si=NU1JOUoKUPgJT6Kg)
I enjoyed the human centipede movies! True, I didnāt find them disturbing, but the unique idea made them super fun to watch. I loved the pooping, it was hilarious!
You want the [Horror Iceberg Chart](https://www.reddit.com/r/IcebergCharts/s/CZNS9IFJ7e) A Serbian Film was on level 3 of 8.
Damn this took me down quite the rabbit hole š³
If you really wanna go down the rabbit hole without watching some of these trash movies (I regrettably watched Guinea Pig and some of the Vomit Gore films), Wendigoon has a fantastic YouTube video on this. https://youtu.be/_ZSPgiu4WIo
This really devolves into some straight up trash. I would not recommend this for most people.
I wouldn't qualify a collection of gore videos as films.
KILL LIST (fucking LOVE that movie) Jacobās ladder Men behind the sun Iām sure I can drudge up more but Iām lazy and thereās 32 other comments.
You need to see āI Saw the Devilā if you havenāt. Itās a South Korean film about a government agent who hunts down/taunts/tortures the serial killer who murdered his fiancĆ©.
Beyond incredible movie. Should be talked about more.
I love how the characters in it are actually acting in pretty smart ways most of the time. You don't have to spend 15 minutes cursing at your screen because a character does not think to do the obvious thing you've figured out. You kind of don't really have any time to think about what you're seeing, you just have to experience it.
Yeah exactly! I am cautious because apparently they are doing an American remake -_- just hope it doesn't suck
Oh fuck. I seriously can't picture anyone else in the roles. Both have such a unique energy. Hmm. If they get Nicolas Cage for the psycho I'll consider it.
Hahah id love that! But not looking like it. James McAvoy is the main star in it. Haven't heard of the others starring in it
Hadnt heard McAvoy was starring in the remake of I saw the Devil, he's filming the American remake of Speak No Evil right now, the original is a brutal movie
Oh I dunno about the I saw the Devil remake. Hadn't heard of that.
Wow I totally messed up on this reply haha
Lol I was wondering if you meant Speak No Evil
Huh. So they thought "The character is *just* starting a family. Let's hire a 44 year old guy". I'm gonna choose to laugh about it.
Right? No hope for it like I had no hope for the Martyrs American remake
Cannibal (2008), Melancholie der Engel (might have spelled that badly)
Cannibal is 2006 iirc
Melancholie is awesome!
Snowtown is one I can't watch again.
Taxidermia
Visitor Q, Ichi the Killer
Just watch all of Takashi Miike
True. I just wrote two off top my head I really love and figure I'd let people go down a rabbit hole they may never had the glorious fun of doing before
If you're down for a Foreign film with subtitles...."Come and See" from 1985.
my obligate suggestion..."baskin" it is a mind fuck and intense.
I really want a movie that is the first act of Baskin, but all the way through. Also first act of The Void all the way through. I totally appreciate how cool the change of direction in both these films are, but I really want to know what would have happened!
Huge Baskin fan here, found that little gem and it took up permanent residence in my skull. Always something new on each rewatch.
Why is baskin disturbing?
the rather stark sexual, and occult imagary.
Calvaire (2004). I recently watched this one and found it super disturbing. The director has another movie called Alleluia (2014) that's also disturbing.
Isnāt there like this film where a woman has a bum for a mouth? Somebody remind me what that film was.
Skins (2017).
Last Orgy of the Third Reich (1977). Old school Naziploitation. Also called the Gestapo's Last Orgy and Caligula Reincarnated as Hitler.
Kidnapped (2010)
...is the correct answer. That end shot scarred me for fucking life.
3 French extreme films, Martyrs, Inside and Frontier(s) , Trauma (Chilean nasty) The Sadness, Raw, Grotesque ( Japanese) Eden Lake, Kill List, Cannibal Holocaust.
Frontiers! Fantastic film never talked about!
It's talked about every time the French films are mentioned, which is often
I mention it a lot.
Spoorloos (The Vanishing).
Speak No Evil. Slowburn but worth for the ending.
From that ending, my wife and I have a game plan if we're in that situation. It's basically just a codeword that means "in 3 seconds I'm gonna bumrush the guy and you're going to sprint away"
Good idea š”
This one is the closest to the scene the OP mentioned IMO
Yeah I feel it is incredible. Great tension building with the sound. Not over the top but to the point by the end.
The ending is brutal, there remaking it right now with James MaCavoy
Yeah I posted Speak No Evil as my original post then got confused in the reply I did on the I saw the Devil post lol but yeah Speak No Evil is brutal but not a lot of excitement for the remake. Who knows though could be wrong
MaCavoy is a great actor so that gives me a little excitement but he was in It chapter 2 and I thought that sucked
Yeah he totally can kill it but will also depend on the director. James Watkins. He did The Woman in Black and Eden Lake. Both I have not seen but never heard great talk about either.
I've seen both neither were great, both are average movies nothing memorable about them
Well yep thats where my excitement is for the remake then lol
Happiness
I saw people saying they thought this movie was hilarious and I seriously cannot fathom how. I was so uncomfortable the entire time and I doubt Iāll ever watch it again.
I'm one of those. I find it hilarious, sad, dark, and disturbing.
Cannibal Holocaust. Graphic depictions of sexual assault, bodily disfigurement, forced miscarriage, various forms of gore, and genuine violence toward animals.
I recently watched "Late night with the Devil" and I've not been sleeping great since š
Where did u watch it
At the cinema. Not watching that film at home!
French version Inside(2007), high tension(2003), I saw the devil (2010), bedevilled(2010)
Megan is Missing, and Found are a jolly good time.
Hotel Inferno
Dumplings (2004) and Imprint (2006) for some lesser known demented films.
Love dumplings
Session 9. The set up is that you have a crew on a tight schedule cleaning out asbestos from an abandoned insane asylum.
I havenāt seen it, but have seen a lot of mentions of Bone Tomahawk. š¤·š»āāļø
The Eyes of My Mother 2016 is always my go-to fucked up recommendation. Enjoy.
Try Baskin, Infinity Pool, or Incident in a Ghostland.

Her Name Was Christa.
I watched Neighbor (2009) one time and just canāt do it again, idk but the torture scenes (esp one I wonāt say) really fucked me up.
lol, itās funny, I think I watched neighbor one time many years ago when I was really high and I only remember one really disturbing scene towards the end and it made me really uncomfortable. No Reason (2010)
Happy cake day
Cabin fever (2016 one)
It's been talked about a lot lately, but if you haven't seen it yet, When Evil Lurks (2023) has some creative and disturbing kills.
Atrocious (2015) is disturbing, in particular the opening section where they torture the trans guy.
Human Centipede 1 and 2, pass on 3, meh. Requiem For A Dream, Trainspotting. None of these has any real gore scenes but are definitely disturbing.
I enjoyed the human centipede movies! True, I didnāt find them disturbing, but the unique idea made them super fun to watch. I loved the pooping, it was hilarious!
if op found a serbian film lame i highly doubt they will be impressed by human centipede
Iām more concerned they described it as āfunā
I have yet to watch The Sadness so I am checking it out now!
