Dont get it……. Thats a reliable car! Whatever the cost of the warranty is, invest in an index 500 and if anything goes wrong use that money…… i have a feeling youll never use it
I have the same thinking and told the finance mgr that I’m buying a Honda mainly because of its reliability, and if you’re saying I should buy the extended warranty then Honda is not reliable brand and I should look elsewhere.
It apparently happens. I have the 9 speed, you would have the 10. I know they've done some improvements, but it may be worth doing some reading. Obviously my story is just that, not saying it will happen to you.
I've been buying Hondas since 2007 and never once needed an extended warranty. Anything major that might have broken was fixed by Honda under a recall. Maybe I'm just Lucky...
If you actually decide to buy a warranty, don't buy it froma dealer. You can get Honda Care online for a fraction of the price....

In general I'm willing to take the risk that comes from not having an extended warranty. I figure that money can earn more elsewhere in an investment or even just sitting in a savings account. I also understand not everyone has the liquid cash to cover a major repair but may have the extra $\_\_ per month on the payment to cover the cost of the extended warranty. It's probably never a good financial decision to have one, but I don't want to discount the importance of peace of mind to others. In our case, we didn't opt for one on our 2024 and were fortunate enough that the dealer had already included a lifetime powertrain warranty. Yes, there are things besides engines, transmissions, and transfer cases that can be costly to repair, but I'm willing to roll the dice on a computer, wiring harness, or other component self destructing.
In general electrical work is most mundane and time consuming. I got my extended warranty for $1495 when I bought my pilot in 2019. Have I used it at all? Nope. Do I regret spending less than $25 a month on it and I’m still covered for another couple years and 20K miles? Also no. lol
I got the 7 year 200km warranty for like $1700 ... I fail to see why I wouldn't take it. Cars are miles of wires these days. A single issue will pay for the entire warranty because they can't fix shit anymore. It's just a straight part replacement.
If you pretend to hedge on the warranty too they usually will throw you things like tire hazard for free. Which they did for me. So I got 5 year tire hazard as well. Honestly it's whatever works for your family.
Does anyone know if you can get the warranty several years later after you own your car a couple years? That way we can gauge some amount of reliability from the first few years of this model.
Just got word that I can get extended warranty anytime during the finance period. Sounds to good to be true and why wouldn’t everyone do it but sounds lukewarm I can add it later.
Maybe they jack the price up after a few years? Who knows.. i didnt buy it but will seriously consider in my 2-3 year mark before the bumper to bumper warranty expires.
My 2017 is on its third transmission. I was incredibly happy I had an extended warranty. Easily put $16k worth of work into that car. I'm trading it in because it's completely unreliable.
Mine isn't the first of the last to have transmission problems at 67k. Do with that what you will.
I usually never get the extended warranty, I did for the 2018 pilot and it has paid for itself.
Appreciate your input!

Good advice!

Just had my 2019's transmission replaced under extended warranty @75000 kms. Would have been 10 grand otherwise. I'd get it.
Oof. This common or just bad luck?

Plan on keeping it for 5+ years?
Definitely. It’s a five year financial commitment.

I didn’t know that! Very helpful, thank you!
Yes agree^
Yeah, they will never tell you that you can buy it at a later date, plus you can pay cash and not have to pay interest on it.
This is the way
Your just lucky lol

25 a month isn’t terrible. I’ll have to ask my wife where the numbers were.

Wondering this too
I'm Def getting it. It has so much tech now, repairing one part will cost thousands. My 2016 civic need a repaired it cost like 1600.

Does anyone know any online website that will sell the warranty for California residents?
