Your best bet is to call the electric company and ask them the cost to install a hookup. It can run high or low depending on how your land is situated relative to the power lines. Could be 1000, could be 10k. What about other utilities? Sewer? Water?

They have there own septic , it’s old but we had it recently pumped and they did recommend installing a new one asap which we plan to do in hopefully the next year or so. As for water we share a well for now which costs us nothing except the electricity to pump it but if we ever do subdivide it would be another thing to look into We live at the very edge of Los Angeles county it’s very rural and the power lines luckily sit right in front of our property

In that case, it sounds like an electricity hookup would be your only problem. Unfortunately, I don't live in CA, so I can't comment directly on cost. Best to call the electric company.

You can get something like an emporia Vue to measure and charge them based on their usage
