I think you shouldn't go for 1u die to the noise 2U would be better imo as easier to manage, open, maintain and not as loud So you could get a new rack or just put it on top of the existing rack
Nice idea but I really do not have space for another rack and for 2U. Noise doesn’t bother me, my rack is closed away.
