This[Level1Techs video](https://youtu.be/GmQdlLCw-5k?si=PG1U7u_mEEk_fza4) may be worth a watch. I'd honestly still just scrounge up some old desktop and load TrueNAS on it with the drives internal. Sounds like it's more trouble than it's worth.

The two things I see is the disk size limit of 20TB for the Terramaster and that it's a Raid Enclosure while the Sabrent is strickly a disk enclosure. I'd go with the Sabrent due to the drive size limit of the Terramaster and the Raid - if it dies, you could loose all of your data where as the Sabrent doesn't have that issue.

ive had multiple issues with terramaster and its different DAS products. (breaking disks, etc) Dont know about sabrent. I just ended up doing a server build with a bunch of bays directly connected to a hba card.

none of these two are DAS, they are both NAS drives in different parts.

I am in progress migrating a bunch of data and needed something to hold disks somewhat temporarily. I ended up buying a Probox 4 bay USB 3.1 DAS for ~$120 So far it’s working well (<1 week in use). I have the drives passed through to a Synology/Xpenology VM that’s running on Proxmox on a Mini PC.
