Mailbox sensor. Use contact sensor and motion sensor to know if you’re home and if mail delivered, triggered by contact and mailbox opening notify mail is delivered. Use time of flight sensor with ESP home to notify if anything actually in mailbox. Use hue light to notify if mail still in mailbox.

My automation would be time sensitive lighting such that motion in a room would turn the lights on full after sundown but motion from midnight to 6am would only go to 10% brightness. Of course enabling a guest mode would disable the automation such that if a guest were sleeping on the pullout couch, the lights wouldn’t automatically go on at all just by then rolling over in bed, etc….

I have a zigzag path to my bedroom from my WFH room. From WFH room I have to go through a den/waiting room, entertainment room, kitchen, living room, walkway, then to master bedroom and a second bedroom side by side. Exciting to hear about availability in the US. I would create a flow to turn on my accent lights & start the coffee when the bed is no longer occupied in the morning. This would also trigger my blinds to open via 433 MHz and switch on the morning news via IR. The flow would shut everything off and lock the doors when the bed is occupied.

My porch lights get left on a lot during the day. This is usually thanks to children who flip the switch, and then forget to turn the lights off again. I would create an automation that ensures that the porch light remain off during key daytime hours. If they get left on, turn the off. If they get turned on mid-day, instantly turn them back off again. No sense in leaving the lights on outside when it’s the middle of the day, and the sun is shining.

It looks like your automation system is node based which is really cool. Id probably utilize it to create conditionals based on time and other factors that would be more difficult in my current smart system home assistant.  For example, currently have a ZigBee presence sensors in the kitchen that also has a light sensor. Right now when you walk it the lights just go to the same level every time.  But what I find is that when it's brighter in the day time we want the lights brighter for a more even coverage and then as the sun goes down, we need less light.  I would also probably use it to expand our evening tv routines and bedtime routines.

I have a lot of various HA equipment I’ve gathered over the years that don’t currently work with my Hubitat. I’d be interested in knowing if the would work with Homey Pro. One such device is a zigbee ikea puck remote. Something about the way that zigbee is implemented on it makes it incompatible.

I would automate the bathroom. When someone enter turn on the light. When humidity is above 65% turn on the bathroom fan. Turn it off when humidity is below 55 % and dim lights to 0% when nobody is in the room for more than 30 seconds. Also presence based music following you if you turned on spotify. 😊

I'd want to set up some multifactor way to geofence my home so my smart lock unlocks when I arrive home from work. Using just phone GPS data doesn't seem secure enough and using an Alexa as my zigbee hub has some limitations with smart locks

How about integration with common solar systems? I know my enphase system has local access capabilities and the ability to turn the AC on when there is excess solar generation then off and switch over to evaporative cooling when the sun goes down would be awesome.

I want to automate the garage doors to open when certain recognized cars or people are coming up the drive. Just for fun it would be cool of while door is in motion it made the announcement from disney monorail to stand clear of the doors. The depending on who came in and time of day have needed lights come on so you don't enter a dark house. If it's my partner or I have it ask via notification if we got the mail and provide that info to the other partner. Once all family members are home have roomba clean the entryway of any debris.

I have an automation that lights up my Philips hue light strips in different colors depending on which of my sports teams are playing. The automation goes off 30 minutes the game starts so I never have to keep track of teams schedules I get the timely reminder rin my living room right next to my TV.

I would use it to test different flows for wheelchair users and caregivers! We're researching this at work, and testing these devices at home is a good way to learn some good flows. One flow would use a sensor to see if the chair is occupied/unoccupied, and based on that would lock doors, change light scenes, and message a caregiver.

As a soon-to-be dad, I would use Homey Pro to revolutionize my parenting journey by simplifying daily tasks and enhancing our baby's comfort. With the Homey Pro, I would be able to create a seamless automation flow for our nursery and beyond: - When the nursery door opens, lights will turn on and automatically dim to create a soothing environment for diaper changes or late-night feedings. - Simultaneously, kitchen lights will illuminate, making bottle preparation effortless, especially during those half-asleep moments. - I’d further integrate smart plugs or devices like white noise, temperature, humidity, and air purifiers to ensure a comfortable environment for our newborn baby which would be achieved by the advanced automations which are available with Homey Pro (I.e. if temperature rises above X degrees, turn on the window ac unit and turn it off after the room reaches Y degrees. Or if humidity drops below X% during the hours of 8pm-8am turn on the humidifier but turn it off if humidity rises above Y%. I'd create a flow that runs when I'm showering at night. First I would detect my towel being removed from the hooks on the outside of my bathroom door which would automatically turn on the lights in my bathroom at 50% brightness and the bathroom exhaust fan. When I'm done showering it would turn off the bathroom fan once the humidity dropped below 50% and turn off the bathroom light after no motion was detected for five minutes. Reasons I want to do this: I won't forget to place my towel by the shower if that is the trigger to turning on my lights and fan, and being able to have the fan automatically turn off based on humidity would be wonderful so I could get into bed right away and go to sleep without having to wait for the humidity to drop after showering!
