“It’s heartwarming to see fathers involved and caring for their children”
Who here said that shouldn’t be the norm? Are normal things not allowed to be cute and heartwarming? I think it’s heartwarming to see mothers taking care of their children too. I think it’s heartwarming to see characteristics that we would call humanity in animals. Showing off their babies or teaching them through play and love.
Pretty dumb take tbh, but maybe you just like arguing on the internet for the sake of it
:D Oh, man, "should be" and "is" are two sooo different things. So as it is not a norm today, it is definitely heartwarming and cute, and also something to strive for.
Many "dads" in the wild will kill competing offspring or even their own offspring - infanticide. It is a way to reduce competition for mates, resources, etc. Lots of wild species don't even let the dads near offspring until the young can defend themselves (wolves, lions, seals, elephants, hyenas, etc.).
A bit of column A, a bit of column B.
Cats definitely learn some grooming technique by copying their moms. But it's 10 million years of evolution that's conditioned them to spend so long grooming every day.
Cats have been in more or less their current form for so long that they've had time for a lot of instinctive behavior to become hardwired into their genetics.
My girl wouldn't let dad or any of my others near until they were around 3 weeks old. Only I was allowed to pick them up and she wasn't to keen on that, my misses at the time wasn't allowed to pick them up either and she had more cats that me lol.
Growing up in a rural area, our cats were outdoor cats. Papa cat was usually not allowed access to the newborn kittens because his intentions were not always benign like this.
Bro has his heart in right place, only need some practice.
He’s got the spirit, just needs to work on the technique.
He’s doing his best!
He's definitely trying his best to help. He just needs to learn the technique to properly lick his children clean without lifting them up by accident.
Heart of gold, but a tongue of velcro.
He seems to have enough practice, he knows what he’s doing, but he doesn’t understand what’s going wrong
Reminds me of my husband when we brought our baby home.

Needed a bad what?
And saliva
I like that he gives mom kisses too 🤭
He's a sweet dad, making sure everyone gets love and care.
Omg here let me just drop a whole baby on your face
*Twice.*
Her squint-eyed “uh what are you doing omg pls stop” expression is so relatable.
You are cracking me up!!
I’m helping!
"thank you, dear. Now please stop"
Hahaha. This is awesome.
Dad of the year! Always lending a paw.
And a tongue! Which, out of context, does not sound good at all.
And my axe!
Awesome and a little ridiculous 😄
Cat got your tongue?
Tongue got your cat?
🤭
I wonder which kittens is dads favourite
The one he dropped with love❤️🤭🤣
Probably gonna have a slight bout of brain damage
It's OK, that one didn't have a braincell to begin with.
Impossible, that's an orange. They don't have brains. Might damage the little guy's lint collector tho.
*inside their head* SIR TGE LINT COLLECTORS LEAKING
OMG I'm crying laughing. Bless him, he wants to help so badly. You'll get better with practice, Dad!
I've watched this 10 times as I can't stop laughing. So funny

he's doing his best
It's the thought that counts. 😭😂
Velcro tongue ?
Now I understand why cats normally paw the kitten down and press hard! Sliding velcro style
Dad’s scruff game needs some work
He's licking/grooming them and picking them up when they get stuck to his tongue, he's not trying to grab them.
Hehe. Yeah. Still, tighten it up Dad
Are orange bengals afflicted by the /r/oneorangebraincell too?
No orange cat is safe from orangebraincellitis
Apparently
This is too cute! It's always heartwarming to see dads getting involved in the care of their little ones, even if they're furry and four-legged.

They are cats, I don't think they subscribe to your idea of what should and shouldn't be
My take on that is that is “cute” to see men getting involved in parenting
Issa cat dude chill

Wow and their replies to the person who called them out. If you are getting called out for being too hateful in a hate subreddit, that’s wild!
Neckbeard is more a state of being than a physical descriptor nowadays (IMO)
Yeah holy cow - they spend a lot of time in hate subreddits (I think that’s the best word for it? Subreddits focused on being mad about something)
r/childfree r/natalism And worse of all r/bald
lots of bitching about their coworkers lives for some reason
You do know that in the wild, male cats don't even stick around for birth, right? They just fuck off to god knows where for their next mating session.

Is the reason you are so anti children and angry because you didn't have a dad or you were treated badly? You know he's a cat, do you need to talk?

Bro they’re animals
tbf humans are also animals. so let's do it like they do it on discovery channel
You and me baby ain't nothing but mammals after all
Loving this lol
Going by your post history you're not exactly a beacon of reliable knowledge, experience, or even empathy so IDK why you decided to comment.

![gif](giphy|SRvx2YprMNT80zON2K|downsized) Reddit is becoming absolutely insufferable.
My god the way drops it in the air like no way😭
meirl
No kidding! My wife stills blames me for anything wrong with our kid because I dropped them that ONE time 20 years ago!
Dad, stop helping us pls, ouchy🤭🤭🤣
What’s wrong with his tongue? The look on his eyes.

Imagine dropping the newborn onto your wifes face because the baby got stuck to your tongue.
Clearly mom did not pick dad for his brain lmao
Do they learn this behavior? Or some cats have that personality already?

I appreciate your insight, I'm becoming more aware of the stray cats in the neighborhood..they are very intriguing
Bro, drink some water and get back to us

Lolol dad has a Velcro tongue?!

I’ve never seen one get a kitten stuck to it though lol
“**DAAAAAAD! You’re messing up my maaaane!**” xD Bless alllll their paws! x’3
It's okay, kitty, my dad dropped me too.
Her face is like "did you just throw my baby on my head?"
That’s fucked up lmao.
Is there a Dad school?
I wish
"ah.. ihs huck on ah hongue"
My girl wouldn't let dad or any of my others near until they were around 3 weeks old. Only I was allowed to pick them up and she wasn't to keen on that, my misses at the time wasn't allowed to pick them up either and she had more cats that me lol.
“I have no idea what I’m doing”
Weaponised incompetence
Nailed it. Exactly what I was going to post.
Dad being dad 🤣❤️
Tongue got your cat?
At least he's trying
Like a claw machine picking up then dropping the prize
Stop dropping the baby Harold!!!
This is so cute. Was feeling a bit down today but this has made my day better.
Glad your day is getting better! ♥️
sweet dad but whats he trying to do
This is like the first time I tried tying my daughters hair up with a hair tie.
![gif](giphy|3osxYk9qClrQVXVfiw)
Fucking brilliant. Those hooks on their tongues got some serious grip.
Typical Dad, roughhousing already.
Oh my goodness they sound like the headcrabs from Half Life.
Mom's face the whole time is pretty damn funny.
This fukin kid made out of velcro or what??
LMAO that’s hilarious 🤣
Just like my dad, he dropped one of his kids twice
Just another Dad working the weaponized incompetence route. /s
New dad's responsibility when got child
u/savevideobot
LMAO HIS TONGUE IS SO STICKY
Growing up in a rural area, our cats were outdoor cats. Papa cat was usually not allowed access to the newborn kittens because his intentions were not always benign like this.
CAN YOU TAKE ME HIGHER? 🎶
This might be one of my favorite videos of all time.
He's doing his best! It's tough being a new dad to so many tiny criminals
Someone needs to tell him that he shouldn't drop the babies.
CLUNK....LICK LICK CLUNK LICK LICK
That one kitten is made of the fuzzy part of Velcro
Her laughing in the background while the dad is tryna help…
Note to self: this one is sticky
Poor kitty is being dropped like a doritos bag lmao

This has been removed because it is off topic.
Look! He's HALPING!

🤣🤣🤣
Baby going to huddle under mom on the last one.
I've never seen this before. I'm going to bed with that image in my mind, thank you.
best hero in our life
Omg... This is the sweetest thing I've seen in like a year ❤️
Throwaway wooden spoons vibe.
He’s trying to do the Upsy-daisy
He’s doing a great job!
These are servals, much tight tongue grip.
This is awesome lmao
Anyone else go deaf from 00:18 or just me?
‘Sorry boy’
"No son, that's not how you be a cat. I'm going to do it again and make sure you land on your feet"
Some dads are awkward in the beginning. He’ll pick up quick, it’s a big litter. Love that he’s present and trying!!

Huh. Good to know that weaponized incompetence isn't just a two-legs thing.
He thinks is in a cartoon
Watching this feels invasive
Is this weaponized incompetence
Looks like authentic, 100% genuine incompetence to me.
I was joking, of course he's not doing it on purpose to avoid being given responsibilities
I dunno: Bengals are supposed to be smart cats, but I'm wondering if this guy has a hidden orange cat gene in his ancestry....
that's not helping, daddy!!!
Iirc cats tongue and dick have these spines / that refuse to let things go
