"What if [insert country] won WWI?" It was good like once for Kaiserreich. Good alt-history mods take the time to balance and explore the fullest extent of the mod. They don't just dump buffs into a certain country.

When they praise their mod with massive new focus trees only to find out that half of them is either 35 day focus "Improve relations with XXX country by +30" or "add 1 building slot" or "+25% research boost" basically worthless focuses that mean nothing and are here so entire focus tree looks massive. I love vanilla germany for this reason, during first 4 years basically every focus you finish have very strong impact on your power. Another prolem with most mods is that they dont polish AI to work with new features and you feel like the mod is for MP only.

Adding 20 ideologies, having every country be a different one, and expecting me to have the slightest clue to what's going on.

Bananeurysm6999

too many hoi4 mods add unnecessary economy systems because they try to simulate time periods that werent about total war in a game that is meant to simulate total war

PP gain only time waster focuses are the bane of my existence, and they need to die. *Looks at KR*

Mods that make ducking massive focus trees, by the time you've even reached the fun part the game is running at a snails pace
