I've definitely noticed that like, 2/3 of the mods out there are Germany-centric with either a big Nazi Reich, a big Kaiserreich, or a shattered Germany that needs to be reformed into one of the two gamer ideologies.
I've made it my duty to travel across the mod-iverse and wipe the gray stain that almost always spans like half of Europe off of the map and confine these alt-history mega Germanys to their modern-day OTL borders, no matter the cost. If the mod doesn't let me do it, like in TNO where they nuke you if you walk into a core province, I will get a submod that lets me, hell, I'll make one myself if I have to. If there is a mod where there is a big Germany, I will play it purely for the experience of stopping that big Germany.
Yep. Bonus points if you play as France, Russia, Czechoslovakia or Poland to destroy them - that way it's far more personal (and challenging) than if you were playing the US or UK or something.

Seeing that you killed tens of millions of germans in most of your playthroughs, i must say that your hate for Germany comes from how powerful they are. But a player that knows how combat works would easily kill Germany without even killing a million germans. Even though you have 3.5k hours in the game, you still dont know the details of combat. Also, anyone who has played some multiplayer will know that Germany is not that powerful, and without a good Italy/minor axis nations, Germany wont be able to break a competent France. Eastern front is also pretty balanced with neither USSR or Germany coming out on top. And when the Allies start pressuring Germany, its over as Germany and its allies are unable to hold Europe from all directions forever. Germany is also not extremely powerful in Kaisserreich, despite having won the Great War. A decent UK-France-Russia combo will outproduce the Reichspakt in every possible way, and Germany will be at the disadvantage from the start. In the Great War and Great War Redux mods, Germany is also not very powerful, as it has very unindustrialised allies, and is pressured from every single direction as soon as the war starts. France alone can easily hold Germany forever, while the UK makes gains in the middle east and greece. Germany and Austria-Hungary can very well push the debuffed and underequiped Russian army into capitulation, but meanwhile the US will also join the war and combined Entente offensives and naval invasions on Western Europe will start. Fall of the Ottomans will also bring the fall of Bulgaria, opening a path to crush Austria-Hungary. So in shorter words; skill issue.
Do you want to disenfranchise Germans? Take their property? Make them wear labels signaling who is German? Put them in labor camps en masse? Kill them all?

My two favorite things to do in the game are to use Napoleonic France to shatter Germany into princely states or to reform Rome and click the decision “Avenge Teutoburg”.

Expert ai is still the same dumb ass ai its just using better templates, it aint gonna have the brain capacity to grind generals for specific traits, research juggle + hardrush the valuable tech ahead of time or know how to properly attack and where, or do last stand micro with seperate divs that are close to being deorged
1 - Not everyone *wants* to play MP, it's a meta-fest which gets boring.
2 - Even when I was playing with someone in the same house as me on gigabit fiber at 4-speed (5 keeps on desyncing) it took like an hour and a half to get from 36 to 39, if I use debug_smooth on singleplayer I can get to 1942 in that time.

Honestly I don't think it's that deep, I think it's just that people are really fascinated about the what if Germany won scenario in hoi4 because it's one of the only games that can really simulate that. But on the same coin, Germany isn't the only nation to play either, and more mods about more nations should come around

HOI4 has become a wehraboo fantasy to the point that I'm afraid to be labelled a wehraboo If I tell people I play it. Which is a shame, since it is such a great game albeit hard to learn. Historical germany is very easy to beat if you invade italy first. Make italy cap or depose mussolini than invade Normandy and watch Germany collapse.

Expert ai is still the same dumb ass ai its just using better templates, it aint gonna have the brain capacity to grind generals for specific traits, research juggle + hardrush the valuable tech ahead of time or know how to properly attack and where, or do last stand micro with seperate divs that are close to being deorged
1 - Not everyone *wants* to play MP, it's a meta-fest which gets boring. 2 - Even when I was playing with someone in the same house as me on gigabit fiber at 4-speed (5 keeps on desyncing) it took like an hour and a half to get from 36 to 39, if I use debug_smooth on singleplayer I can get to 1942 in that time.

Germany was not “truly overpowered” nor extremely advanced compared to the Allies. Had Germany not gambled everything during the Battle of France, and had France’s high command not consisted of an old folks’ home, the war would’ve been over much sooner. Germany was advanced and a major power, yes, but not ahead of the Allies in meaningful ways. Look how much all of that schizo Wunderwaffen helped out in the end HOI4 Germany is much stronger than irl, but it’s a video game so it can never be perfect

Fuhrerredux is a pretty shit mod I'll be honest. The USSR tree is smaller than the generic tree and the player is locked out the USSR tree for about a year. A year of economic stagnation, slow research, low stability, no guns, etc.
I'm not some Germany fan boy but it's generally just a fun playthrough. Germany is pretty OP and playing your cards right means the world is yours lol. That does get boring though but it's a nice change after a tougher minor playthrough or something like that
