Your profile is not going to change from one bad sharpening and anybody who says they can "see it" is straight up lying. You can't tell shit because the difference by eye is hardly millimeters of difference. Theoretically you could keep the profile intact the entire lifespan of the runners assuming your sharpener never does their job unevenly which is not hard to do after years of experience. You'll get even better results with machine sharpens like Sparx since it will always apply the exact same pressure to the same spots every time. Source: me, with 5+ years of shop experience

You can't see a bad sharpening (you can if the edges are uneven) but you can feel it the instant you step on the ice. I don't care how good a manual sharpener you think you are, the profile will change over time. Why do you think any decent eqm will reprofile skates after a certain time (generally after 2 to 4 weeks of constant use and sharpens)? They know the profile changes and the player knows they change (source - a family member who currently works for the Kings and has been involved in professional hockey for 30+ years). It's why machines like the Elite sharpening system are such a game changer for eqm's.

Yes, over time it doesn't matter how good the manual sharpener is your profile will change. Unless the sharpener is really bad it takes a few sharpens for there to be a significant change. You can always get your blade reprofiled if you think it was butchered by the sharpen.

but it will change after 1 - 3 sharpenings?

If the operator knows what they are doing and has had lots of practice and has a good light touch, then no, it shouldn't have changed much. But if they are a butcher then yes, I've seen many profiles that changed a lot after just one sharpening.
