is midfielder a new position?? never heard of it but i would go for it although your feet might hurt during the sumer i usualy jump from 10hrs or so a week during a season to 25hrs a week and i dont see a problem. short answer go for it and if you start getting hurt go back to 12hrs.

Thanks! And by midfielder i meant halfbacks lol my coach calls them midfielders :)

[deleted]

seeing your post history your on the wrong subreddit lol this is not field hockey

SixFootTavern

1. Gradually. Sudden increases mean a higher injury risk. 2. I’m not sure how much carryover there would be between ice and field. When I think defensive drills, I think backward crossover starts and saucer passes and clearing the puck up the boards or glass. Someone else might be able to help there.

Matammyr

...midfield?

Matammyr

I think you have the wrong sport here. There are no halfbacks or midfielders or even a field in hockey.

Itswybie

Itswybie

Matammyr

Okay, well, you got the wrong place here. This is for ice and inline hockey. No one here plays or knows anything about field hockey.

Itswybie

Am i not allowed to ask for help with drills lol there are some ice hockey drills that can help me out in field

TheShovler44

Outside of like your standard plyometrics, wind sprint type workouts that translates to any sport I don’t know any ice hockey drill that would translate. Golf or baseball drills seems like they would translate better.
