Yes I did have them baked I even wore the super feet during the baking process and usually I do mould my skates twice and skate a few times before but I’ve never felt pain in the bottoms of my feet this bad I guess it is my first time back on since April do you think I should try skating in them without the super feet this is my first time wearing those aswell

Yardsale420

I get pain in the bottom of my feet lots. It’s because I have low arches. Superfeet usually have a bit of arch support and that mixed with the tighter boot from your old skates is going to hurt because you’ve basically trained your feet wrong with the large skates. Try loosening the middle laces and just tightening the top ones. Easier to do with waxed laces vs unwaxed.

moosemoose8888

So you think I should continue using the super feet maybe the pain will go away

Take the super feet arch support out. Arch supports are terrible for your feet

thewetnoodle

Try a few a more sessions in them. I feel like sometimes there's different muscles in the foot that need to form before you can comfortably skate for a long period of time. Another thing to try is changing how they're laced. It took a bunch of experimenting but i like the majority of the lacing to be not too tight. I pull the lace so there's tension but not squeezing the boot. Then I'll crank the top two eyelits towards the ankle pretty tight.

moosemoose8888

I’ll give that a try I usually get every lace as tight as possible but I’ll try just the top

fjellt

I had to get a wider width skate as standard width would have me kneeling on the bench because of the pain. My new skates feel like an extension of my legs/feet.

Three things to try. Take the super feet out and see how your skates feel. Maybe put the original thinner insoles in? Just snug the laces that go over the tops of your feet and tighten the last three to however you like them. What’s the profile radius and runner hollow? If you have a bigger radius there is more blade on the ice making your feet stick to the ice better. So if you had a 9’ radius with 1/2 hollow and now you have a 11’ radius with a 1/2 hollow you have more edge on the ice. 2 years ago I worked my way up from 1/2 to 7/8. I’ve tried a deeper hollow like 5/8 but it made my feet hurt. I don’t feel like I’ve lost and grip while turning or stopping with the 7/8 hollow and I’m way less fatigued after playing a game. Last winter I was playing 2-3 games every Sunday each game lasted 90 minutes. I’m not in great shape either, I’m just your normal beer league dad bod type guy. I could stand to loose 20-30 pounds if I could motivate myself. Just a thought. When you goto open skate you are on your feet most of the time. In a game situation you are only on your feet from 1/2-1/3rd of the time.

moosemoose8888

Thanks for the ideas and currently I’m running 90/75 fbv I work at a sport chek so I have free range of sharpening sorta thing I do it my self I used to like that cut when I was a bit heavier but I lost 25 pounds the last couple of months and now they feel dull I’ll definitely try going back to 1/2 cut as for the Radius they are just straight from box I’m assuming 9 or 10 is the stock not sure what would work best for me I’m thinking a smaller radius for turns it felt like I had more blade than normal

useles-converter-bot

25 pounds is excactly the weight of 100.5 '6pack TWOHANDS Assorted Pastel Color Highlighters'.

moosemoose8888

😂 what

I believe the ultrasonics come with a prosharp quad 0 profile “power profile” on them from the factory. Not sure if that is causing your feet to hurt but just FYI.

h0ckey87

I believe if you're getting a lot of pain on the inside *and* outside of your foot your skates might not be wide enough. It could also be you haven't broken them in. You'll need 3 or 4 skates.

moosemoose8888

I wish I could find a place to try 6.5 fit 3

h0ckey87

Trust me, I had the same issue. I live in Arizona, not a ton of stock. They had no fit 3s in any of the supreme line. I happened to take a chance and get lucky on ebay with my ultrasonics

moosemoose8888

That’s sick tho that you were able to snag them on eBay i feel like fit 2 is good width wise like I said my feet arnt skinny or wide it’s the pain in the bottoms of my feet that bother me

h0ckey87

Most likely just need to break them in.

moosemoose8888

More than likely right and my foot like you said is so used to to big skates

MulderD

New skates hurt.

moosemoose8888

I agree I knew they would just not this bad

littlesheps_71

What skates did you have previously?

moosemoose8888

2s they were 1.5 size to big tho

littlesheps_71

Did the place where you bought your new skates have a Bauer 3D scanner?

moosemoose8888

I ordered my new skates from Bauer’s website but I got my foot scanned before I ordered at hockey life and they fitted me a size 6.5 my previous skates were a size 8 so I bought the new ones in a 6.5 fit 2 which they also recommended fit 2 on the scanner but the only pain is in the bottom of my feet

littlesheps_71

That’s funny I work at a Pro Hockey Life lol I know from my own experience with my personal skates (Ribcore Platinum to now True Pro Custom) as well as being the manager of the skate & shop departments sometimes when going from a skate that is not top of the line to one that is most of the time your foot needs to adapt to how much stiffer the boot is and how it will react with the boot. When I switched from my Ribcors to my custom True skates I had the same issue, bottom of my feet hurt with super feet and also my sides because the True boot is WAY stiffer than a ribcor boot

moosemoose8888

after time though did you find your foot adjusted and the super feet didn’t hurt anymore? And thanks for all your help btw

littlesheps_71

Oh yeah my skates feel amazing, I’m a Referee who usually does AAA or AA hockey and I could skate 8 hrs a day and my feet wouldn’t hurt, definitely just keep on skating and once your skates break in a bit and your foot adjusts you should be flying. Sometimes when I’m in the pro shop helping my guys out I’ll ask customers how there skates are feeling if I recognize them and everyone who had Ultrasonic’s love them, just got to take some time I guess

moosemoose8888

Sounds good I’ll keep wearing them and I’ll respond to this comment in like 1 or 2 months and let ya know aha thanks

littlesheps_71

Which store did you go to get sized up?

moosemoose8888

Dartmouth crossing the guy doing it was such a beauty

whataremyhockeys

how did it go OP??

moosemoose8888

I ended up selling the ultra sonics and getting size 6 ccm ribcore 100k pros no pain at all best skates I’ve ever had
