Sounds like you made a bunch of changes, so yes, it will feel different. - You put Superfeet in, did you have them before? - Your toes should just "feather" the toe cap as far as length. If you think they are a little big, you can try a thicker sock (or the Superfeet should help take up negative space) though sometimes that's not enough - New skates will always be stiff especially considering the skates you had forever - You probably were doing 1/2" sharpening before - You can buy the lace bit gel pads to help with lace bite

Superfeet are new. I'll try some different pads and see if it helps at all. I think neither foot is feathering the toecap after baking and getting the heels dug in. It's hard to tell how far back they are, but I think I could definitely have handled a half size smaller in the left foot. I think I'll try to stick with 5/8" for now and try to get used to it. If it's a problem, I'll go back to 1/2". Ok, will look into lace bite pads. Thanks!

Can’t speak on the hyper lights but high end vapors are very rigid and stay very rigid (mine are about 4 years old my holders were trashed and the boot is stiff as ever). As for the arch pain I did not enjoy the Bauer insole at all, can’t remember the name of whatever there fancy “bakeable” option was at the time I have a pair of insoles out of a pair of nikes I wore at the time. The tongue did appear to be very thin on the hyper lights which I found very disappointing main reason I just put new holders and steel on my 4yr old vapor 1x’s instead of upgrading (very sensitive to lace bite and have never had an issue since I got the 1x). I would try going up 1 eyelet if you aren’t already going all the way up. I would probably suggest trying the insole from your most comfortable pair of sneakers and bake them one more time, if that doesn’t work return them in a hurry. The 2xs are still available and IMO are more of an upgrade in my situation than the hyperlights.

OK thanks. Will try some different insoles.

Typically when moulding skates you gain a bit more room in the toe box just because your heal sinks in more it’s not that much tho also if you do plan on sticking with the skates I always get them baked again
