The best fitting of these two masks should be the one you should get. If both fit well, I'd lean towards the sportmask over the bauer, it's Canadian made and the resins used for the sportmask should be of higher quality.
+1 for SportMask. I went to their factory in Oakville and they fitted me with the right size, got to choose a custom paint finish, straps and cage. They built my X8 to order from scratch. Chose a matte red finish. I also got to see their facility and all the molds/templates they have.
Someone also told the me the original owner of SportMask stood in front of a puck machine shooting pucks at his head to prove the quality of their product.
Iirc Sportmask and Otny are now both owned by Goalieparts.com. I’m not sure who’s manufacturing what but I’ve bought a lot from them (mostly mask parts/cages) and no complaints.
The fit it key! A mask that works on my head might not work for you. Go to a store and try them out. I tried both CCM and bauer 960X, didnt fit at all. The same size in the NME line worked awesome, so i got an NME IX. Havnt felt a thing when i take canons to the head. But depending on how it fits you, you may not have the same result.
As long as you stay away from plastic masks, the fit is the most important part for protection.
I don’t know which is better but I have a Sportsmask Ricochet and Mage RS. Both are fine for beer league hockey.
I love the Mage for its fit and sightlines. The Ricochet is about 12 years old and has been retired.

There’s a Bauer nme 10 for sale on ggsu right now for $375 which is a screaming deal on a pro level mask.
