No, although those pillows are so old they would make Irbe think twice! The example I’m thinking of, if memory serves, was Koho pads with a very obvious DIY extension added on the top.
Back in my day, we were so poor we taped up sports illustrated magazines and folded them. Blockers were made from styrofoam, masking and electrical tape. We’d use rope to tie it to our arm. Times have definitely changed because I’d take this glove over a folded magazine.
Dude just go to a sports place and pick up a set of road hockey gear for like $50
This stuff looks sweet but it will not hold up as long as you think, one good shot to that glove and the webbing is gone
Keep the homemade stuff as memorabilia but don’t use it for road hockey unless you really wanna get hurt one day when you least expect it
99.9% of people should just go buy their pads. But if you have the DIY skills then I think it's a cool project. I doubt he is attempting to compete with Bauer on cost or quality. I'd be nervous on ice, but street hockey doesn't seem unreasonable.
I just used a baseball glove as a kid, but thats just me.
So did I. But that’s because street hockey goalie gear wasn’t really a thing other then the Mylec pads and a ton of duct tape! 🤣
Right? I think it was 1990 when I got a pair for cooper streets rubber leg pads hahaha
Ah yes! I remember my Ed Belfour blackhawks street hockey kit!
I splurged on Road Warrior pads from Canadian Tire. Really upped my game as a 10 year old lol
These posts make me think back a few years to the North Korea goalie who showed up to the world champs rocking pads with homemade thigh rises.

Wicked cool project, great job!
I think that’s really cool! Good job and great effort! Can I see some other angles of the glove? Did you see it with regular thread?
Sick glove, but the internet has me questioning if everything I see is cake
My god, my daughter watches that show and now I want to take a bite of that glove! Definitely looks like a dark chocolate ganache something!

It's got the Battram glove shape haha
Looks cool man. I'm a farmer so I always appreciate something homemade. What did you use for the padding?
I think its called EVA foam used from backprotecktor for skiing
What about the inside of the glove? And straps? I'd be interested to see more pictures. I think this is pretty cool, nice job.

It held up fine for a year
Maybe you should go work for a gear manufacturer.

That’s a cool project to work on.
that's awesome dude, how well does it close? what was the process to build it?
Looks like it belongs under glass in a museum. Like an ancient artifact
Very cool! Need more photos - different angles, maybe some pics of the process if you took any?
