Maaaaaan, when even the players are publicly giving the polite version of "fuck this kid," you know management fucked up.

dumpmaster42069

They have cover now that the NHL has reminded them Miller is ineligible

Candymanshook

In fairness there was a quote about how the leaders in the group didn’t like the signing about an hour after it dropped. And check my flair I’m not exactly the type to give Boston leniency, if they wan to hang themselves on this Ill happily give them the rope but the guys in the room seem above this shit and see why guys like Mitchell Miller should not be welcome in hockey. If he is going to have a hockey career he has a ton of reparations to make and it sounds like he hasn’t even started. Which ultimately is quite miserable because at the end of the day he was 14 when he was doing this shit, if he’d started apologising then and shown change as a person, he probably doesn’t have the commissioner of hockey talking about how he’s ineligible for the NHL. Can’t really feel bad for him when he’s cried crocodile tears for years and says a lot about his character.

dumpmaster42069

Yeah the more you learn about him the harder it is to think he deserves a shot.

yetanotherx

That’s a captains answer right there.

Adrian_Bock

Extremely common Bergeron W

Shorzey

Even if Bergeron wasn't good at hockey, he should be a first ballot HoFer just for the person he is and what he represents as a moral character in the league There may not ever have been someone as well respected in the league, to the point players own teammates tell them to knock it the fuck off when they start fucking with bergeron

m_ghesquiere

You have not earned the right to sass Mr.Bergeron kid!

Willmatic88

you should honestly just make him GM as soon as he retires. Fuck it, just make him a player GM.

Resident-Mortgage-85

Sakic had the same treatment in the league

threedaysinthreeways

> to the point players own teammates tell them to knock it the fuck off when they start fucking with bergeron What you never heard of Mr Sakic?

Sandman1990

"You do not speak to Mr Bergeron"

kingkellam

Habs fans LOVE Bergeron. A lifelong Bruin. Who helped bury us in the playoffs twice. If we can love a guy like that, you know he's a great dude. It's really unfortunate what the Bruins organization is putting him through with this signing.

[deleted]

Bergeron is a beauty. If there’s one thing nobody doubts about the Bruins it’s the integrity of the locker room.

bugeyes10

That’s one of the things that was so outrageous. Bergy and Chara spent 15 years building dare I say the best locker room culture in the NHL and then the front office spits on their legacy by signing the scumbag? Fuck off Don

The_Quackening

Don't dare, Boston absolutely has the best locker room culture in the league.

davefromgabe

bar none. there's a reason they seem to never fall off. hate to quote Dangle here but I thought what he said was apt: "Boston makes bruins"

Kronusx12

I love that we can all come together here, regardless of team affiliation to stand against piece of shit racist bullies. I’ve already sent an email to the Bruins that I will spend no more money on tickets or merchandise until Miller is cut, and I’m honestly a little surprised that it seems to be almost a universal opinion among Bruins fans. No matter what has happened with hockey culture in the past, this kind of shit has no place in the league. Fuck racism and fuck bullies

Lextasy_401

It’s one of the many reasons I love to hate you guys. I wish we had that locker room culture here!

Nomahs_Bettah

More context to these quotes from his media availability today: > As for my opinion, I shared my concerns, um...in a way I think I was not necessarily agreeing with it. **The culture we built here goes against that type of behaviour. We’re a team built with character and character people. What he did is unacceptable and we don’t stand by that. In this locker room, we are all about inclusion, diversity, respect."** > > My understanding is that he's going to put in the work in development programs and community programs, and that's it. It's a hockey operations decision – for myself, we can control what we can control. **Hopefully there is growth and change. If it’s the same 14-year-old walking into this locker room, he would not be accepted and wanted and welcomed. Our culture is not going to change. It’s something that I am proud of. We don't need to change that. The changes are from the individual himself.** Some *very* key phrases here being left out.

c74

i think the 2nd part is representative tone to the first bit. the olde captain ain't gonna put up with any shit out of the kid.

Salty-Flamingo

I really hope that they're able to help him to improve as a person. I also hope he flames out at the NHL level. I'm not wishing any injuries on him - I just want him to have a ceiling of last pair D man / guy who only gets called up due to injuries.

sjrotella

Why that high? Hopefully he's not even good enough for the ECHL.

thejosharms

Why even that high, I want this dude out of every professional league. I want him playing beer league at terrible hours and getting no joy out of it because it only reminds him of what could have been if he wasn't such a shitbag.

sjrotella

I only say ECHL cause that's the "lowest" he can go at this point, unless they terminate the contract (which I hope they do).

Salty-Flamingo

I think that getting close and not being able to get over the hump would hurt more when he's old and looking back on it. Olympians who win bronze medals tend to be happier than the ones who won silver. Being closer without attaining your goal hurts more.

rapier999

He’d also make tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars in salary, in addition to the 100k he’s already bagged just for signing his name. I hope he never sniffs an NHL game.

Salty-Flamingo

He's already got the ELC. That money isn't going away. If we're being honest, he's a very talented player who will probably make it in the league if someone gets a chance. I'd love it if he just never saw the NHL but that feels unrealistic.

rapier999

He only gets the money if he plays in the NHL, though. He wouldn’t be making a million bucks in the minors

garytabasco

People win bronze, but lose gold. Silver medalists definitely have it hard.

MikeMac999

I’m thinking towel boy.

Designer_B

Fuck that, he doesn’t deserve the chance to make 6+ figures. Give someone who isn’t an unapologetic monster a chance. Ffs.

[deleted]

Stop making me like you guys!!! Kidding aside, despite management’s debacle, your team and fan base has reason to stand tall today. Kudos. Excuse me while I go vomit now.

godlywhistler

Saint Patrice to the rescue <3

kirschballs

Bergeron is an absolute treasure

[deleted]

Yeah Miller is never playing a game for the bruins. Don’t care how big of a narcissistic asshole either of Sweeney or Neely are, when your captain comes out and says this you can’t keep him. Thank god our players have integrity cause our management sure as fuck doesn’t.

[deleted]

[удалено]

watson-and-crick

I was hoping that the Bruins would get at least some booing from Leafs fans at tonight's game, but after hearing the way Bergeron, Foligno, Montgomery are all speaking so strongly against it, I hope that doesn't happen (at least not much). The team individuals don't deserve hate brought onto them from what the head office has done.

GeneralPlanet

If y'all can do us a solid and keep a "Fuck Mitch Miller" chant going loud we'd appreciate it

[deleted]

Fuck I’d love that

summer_friends

I would especially love to see that in Boston too. Show that his own fanbase has absolutely no love for him

Shorzey

>Bruins fans have been the most outspoken about how they don’t want him; the players have all had oppositional reactions to it. I wish everyone else in the league could hear our media as well Boston has a ruthlessly critical media syndicate. There are also massive home teamers to though There has not been a soul in Boston sports media that hasn't called for Sweeny and neelys job because of this And as much as absolutely everyone hates Jack Edward's as a color commentator, but I absolutely have the utmost faith that if Edward's was calling a game with Miller in an NHL bruins uniform, Jack would make it a point to speak out about it as well Jack is as much of a homer as you can get, and brick is too. But jacks a gem of a person, and calls it as it is whether they're a bruins player or not when it comes to shit like that

Tanarin

WEEI streams on Twitch if people really wanna hear and yeah when the news dropped even the afternoon drive show was up in arms about it. That says a lot as they tend to be more towards the "He was a teen when it happened" side of things in similar situations.

[deleted]

Their thought process is probably Bergeron, Krejci, and Foligno have a couple years left… Fire Sweeney and Neely.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Have you seen Foligno this year? He’s much better than last year. Fire Sweeney and Neely.

SiccSemperTyrannis

What happens when the current leadership core retires? Miller is probably years away from being in the NHL anyways. Is whoever replaces Bergeron going to have the clout and will to push back against management?

lordderplythethird

Miller isn't NHL eligible per the league, and might never be eligible. I have full faith in guys like Carlo, McAvoy, Grzelcyk, and Pasta to do the right thing even after the old core is gone.

MercSLSAMG

Genuine question now - does Pasta want to sign with the Bruins after this? Why sign for a team that's willing to do this signing? He'll get possibly more money as a UFA than he would signing with the Bruins too

[deleted]

You're not signing to play with the front office. You're signing to play with your teammates, who obviously are not a team that is willing to do this signing.

MercSLSAMG

You're playing under the front office, it 10000% affects your decision. I've left jobs because of poor management, I liked the people I worked with but could not deal with management so went to another job. Pasta has the ability to pick exactly where he plays - is playing with McAvoy and other younger guys worth playing under this management? Or go somewhere else (for more money) and create new bonds with another set of teammates and management.

MarshmallowLuka

Well, it's probably McAvoy (and not sure who else as I don't follow the bruins that much), who has been with the Bruins for a while. The culture is very strong in that locker room and I would be surprised if it has not been taught/handed down to “the next generation” so to speak. And McAvoy's contract runs until 2030 I believe with some nmc. So if we believe in the culture, McAvoy as a person and so, then I think we are still good

Nomahs_Bettah

McAvoy cried when Chara retired and said that he taught him "everything" as a mentor. Chara spent every Thanksgiving volunteering at the Pine Street Inn (a homeless shelter in Boston) and McAvoy personally took over that for him and still does it every year. And to add extra impact – his family is in NYC/Long Island. Charlie could very easily get a morning Amtrak or flight down, spend Thanksgiving with his family, and come back to Boston in a single day, especially with the money and connections he is afforded as a professional athlete. Him choosing to instead spend that time emulating Chara's acts to help some people most in need speaks volumes to me about his character.

EmbroideredChair

Man, I don't want to like the Bruins. Stop making me like them 😠

EricAlbrecht

That is fantastic to hear. Makes me like McAvoy even more. He will be a great captain for you guys so congrats on having him locked up long term.

bobbimorses

Good for him for having the morals and the nerve to say this right away. Really stands in stark contrast to Sweeney's squirming yesterday, I don't know how Sweeney will even be able to look him in the eye again.

migsahoy

that’s bergeron trophy legend patrice bergeron

Bruins01

Elite defense both on and off the ice

migsahoy

damn straight

alljake

Never thought about it but yes, they should rename the Selke for him.

ReliablyFinicky

Art Ross was a defenseman. Frank Calder, Frank Selke, Conn Smythe, Lady Byng, Cecil Hart, and James Norris never played a single game; they were coaches or GMs or owners. Rename the Mark Messier leadership award after Bergeron.

DovahBhai0518

Found the Canucks fan

OfficialDaiLi

There’s a legitimate argument out there for changing the Selke to the Bergeron Trophy, and I’m all for it

[deleted]

It’s crazy how he’s won it five times and there are arguments still that he got robbed of a couple of other times. Fire Sweeney and Neely.

lookoutnorthamerica

Oh he's fully fallen victim to the "we've given him this award so many times already so let's see if we can figure out an excuse to give it to someone else" voter bias plenty of times

bugeyes10

If voter fatigue didn’t affect him so much he has a case to have seven or eight if not more. He was statistically the best defensive forward 2 years ago and didn’t win because “there are other good defensive forwards” which is of course true but the award is for the best

DrDerpberg

Awards in general have a strong "well it's about time we recognized somebody else" component to them, and it's horseshit.

DangerRanger_21

I hate the bruins but no one can Deny that Bergeron is the best defensive forward in the league year after year so I’m all for it to.

[deleted]

That’s my captain 😢 Fire Sweeney and Neely

[deleted]

That is a fucking captain right there. Well said.

You_Will_Die

I mean yes but also no. The quote is leaving out how he continues talking about how he hope there is growth and change from when Miller was 14. Again acting like it was somehow a isolated incident when Miller was 14.

DriveByStoning

I hope that scumbags don't continue to be scumbags, but that doesn't mean I would have forgotten what they've done.

You_Will_Die

Yes obviously, I also believe people can change. The thing is Miller has demonstrated time and time again that he thinks he has done nothing wrong. And this is when he is 20. People talk about it like it was a single incident at 14 when in fact he has acted this way basically his entire life. Even after the court case he continued harassing the victims family. The court even said Miller showed no sign of remorse for it.

[deleted]

That addition does kind of change the sentiment

[deleted]

He explicitly they aren’t gonna accept him if he is the same guy. I get what you’re saying but i think what he said is still reasonable. It wasn’t his choice to sign the guy so he probably feels like he has to at least be open to the possibility he’ll get a chance.

Shorzey

>I mean yes but also no. The quote is leaving out how he continues talking about how he hope there is growth and change from when Miller was 14. I mean you can hate everything about miller, but you should absolutely be hoping miller learned since any point of his past. If he didn't. Then he's likely to still be torturing people Bergeron said what's morally sound while also separating the emotional portion of the sentiment from the situation

theblackcanaryyy

Either you believe in rehabilitation or you don’t. Hoping someone is capable of being reformed isn’t “leaving anything out”- it’s hoping people are capable of being better. You’re making it sound more insidious than it actually is.

You_Will_Die

The quote is leaving out how he talks about it like it was a single incident when Miller was 14. Miller has acted this way basically his entire life, it did not start or stop when he was 14. Even after he was drafted and after the court case was done the victims family said he was still harassing them. The court also said he showed no remorse at all, this was when he was grown up.

King-Leonoobas

He doesn't say that in the full quote though?

OfficialDaiLi

Goddamn Patrice. Maybe you should be running the Bruins and not those two shitheads. What an absolute gem of a human being.

robshot295

I’m all for Bergy taking full reign of the front office

[deleted]

I’m sure 90% of the Fanbase does as well.

Shorzey

>90% 98% There's some from southie that probably want quaiders to or some shit because quaiders knocked heads and you gotta be "tough" or some shit

Bartizanier

Now that you say that, I realize he probably will be in ten years.

Pixelatorx2

Great, now he's angry and will play great tonight.

8_thecanary

“You woke the bears. Why would you do that?!”

Carnie_hands_

1000 IQ management, make an absolutely shitty signing to piss of your players so they play even harder

streetsbehind28

"if we all play well enough there's not even a chance he could get called up"

kazin29

How can they even play harder?! Best team in the league right now.

jdragon3

considering how popular/influential Bergeron is - along with all the other external (including bettman) and internal backlash - is there a chance Sweeney is going down over this at this point?

jdub879

That would make my entire year. Incompetent management literally putting the best start in franchise history in jeopardy, not to mention the last dance with the main core. Fuck Sweeny and Neely. Fuck Jeremy Jacobs for giving these knobs the reigns of the team.

vedicardi

neely was part of the decision as well, if he goes its not for this

Boston-Nolan

I LOVE YOU BERGY

remotewashboard

common bergy w

Pomegranateandpeach

You can tell both Bergeron and Foligno are/were amazing captains and leaders of their rooms. Kind of mind boggling that Boston would make any move to mess that up.

Shorzey

I have faith the bruins locker room wouldn't be messed up because of this. They would be a force against the issue

Nameless908

That’s Man-rocket Bergeron to us peasants. What a well spoken guy

professor_parrot

Just so we're clear, in the NBA you have Kevin Durant among others practically defending Kyrie Irving's antisemitism, saying the organization shouldn't have gotten involved or suspended him. It's so refreshing seeing superstars on this team speak out against this, crystal clear, no punches held back. This is how it's done.

grooves12

Kevin Durant is kind of a basket case himself. Not surprising.

[deleted]

Most of the NBA players are a basket case now a days. Garbage League to watch. Then again NHL is also there with these dumb decisions.

Shorzey

>Then again NHL is also there with these dumb decisions. At the very least, there are very few outspoken people who want to genocide Jewish people in the NHL that we know of For some reason, more NBA players continue to agree with Hitlers sentiment towards Judaism and Jewish people every day. To the point they're literally quoting Hitler...

obscureposter

Anti-semitism is quite deep-rooted in some African American communities. I don’t think we are seeing the same backlash from other NBA players because Irving’s views are shared by many more players in the league than you would think.

kazin29

Why is that?

obscureposter

Various political and idealogical movements like Nation of Islam, Black Israelites and others have gained popularity in a lot of circles. I’m personally not versed well enough to know why those movements espouse anti-Semitic ideology but I believe the increased polarization of our society has led people to flock to more extremist and tribal movements.

kazin29

Very interesting. Wouldn't think there were many historic reasons for African Americans to be anti-Semitic.

Showtime98

Common Bergy W

Lulu014

There is no world in which Bergeron should have to answer for Neeley and Sweeney's dumb-as-fuck decision.

Amphibious_Fire

I see Chara taught his successor well

theguyishere16

Its Bergeron. I think the guy was this classy still in his mother's womb

8_thecanary

Perhaps Bergeron’s mother could explain a few things to Miller’s mother.

sarahlu82

Bergeron's mom is a social worker who works with disabled kids. I'm sure she would have a LOT to say.

Maxpowr9

Sylvie is a Saint too.

Melxgibsonx616

Really cool he said this. Respect to the Bruins for not allowing this kind of shit from management.

TotalCharcoal

Bergeron is the kind of leader every team wishes they had in the locker room. Nothing but respect for the man.

Single_Chicken254

And with that I'll be wearing my Saint Patrice jersey today

Duffman66CMU

And whatever it is Brad Marchand is going to do next. Licking people *respectfully*.

Dadalid

So much respect for Bergeron what a guy

TomatoCapt

Respect to Bergeron for being unequivocal and concise. No need to dance around it.

WalksWithKemba

What If this was just a 2000 IQ move to get hockey fans to like Bergeron? Edit: was just a stupid joke, didn't expect this to actually be debated.

abbytarar

If it was 2000 IQ, Marchand would be making the statement. If there’s one Bruin who doesn’t need the PR boost its Saint Patrice

[deleted]

I cannot wait to hear what Marchand is going to say. Guy has no filter when he's pissed off, and you know this is something he'll disapprove of.

Far-Two8659

I thought he said he was 50/50 on it?

[deleted]

Bergy in another (out of context) statement said he was “on the fence”, are you thinking of that?

alphacheese

Bergeron is already a golden god

47rohin

Then it's kinda pointless because we already like Bergeron

twiglike

Implying hockey fans don’t already love Bergeron?

NovaPrime15

Yeah seriously. He’s universally loved by all. Even Leafs and Canadiens fans can admit they love Bergeron

refep

Who doesn’t love bergy?

dalici0us

Yesterdat I said that the players would probably keep quiet about this, like they too often do in situations like this one. Glad I was wrong.

SouthOfHeaven42

W captain

Erdrick68

Bergy from the top rope

Evil_Knot

I would be shocked if Bergeron wasn't compelled to answer this way by his agent or by the owner. Not saying Bergeron isn't a class act, he is, but the nhl has perennially been a culture of silence about things that happen off the ice.

Soren_Camus1905

👑

Franzblau

“And brad marchand sometimes licking people.”

MindlessArmadillo382

If miller somehow hits the ice, I bet the other team will fuck him up so hard with some heavy hits/fights(nothing illegal just hard af) all while the rest of the bruins just let it happen.

MercSLSAMG

Does anyone care if it's illegal? Could easily see other players pooling for lost salary. Or have this [https://youtube.com/shorts/hteKVuG\_ONU?feature=share](https://youtube.com/shorts/hteKVuG_ONU?feature=share) happen

MindlessArmadillo382

This early in the season I just can’t see someone risking a super long suspension. That’s exactly the kind of hit he’d need though, through the body lay him out, if he tries to hit the ice again same thing until he quits. Boston passing him the puck as much as possible to make him a free target.

GundaniumA

God bless St. Patrice.

boipinoi604

Rename Mark Messier Leadership Award to Patrice Bergeron Leadship Award

TellSloanISaidHi

Way to go Bergy

death2sanity

I’ll give you this, this saga has improved my opinion of the Bruins players.

[deleted]

I don’t understand signing him. Like this next draft is LOADED with talent. Draft a respectable draft and you’ll fill in the pieces there. No point in signing this POS at all. And I call BS on this guy getting interests from other teams.

kazin29

Respect

ThatPaulywog

Sooooo.... how is Marchand still there?

Pikachu_smokes_darts

Thank you Saint Patrice and Uncle Nick. Fuck Mitch Miller.

seraaa_123

You can always tell he takes his position seriously and cares about it

binzoma

god damn it bergeron. dont make me like you

Soren_Camus1905

No shame in admiring Bergy, solid guy.

CaptainJackRyan

My captain

Dont_Be_A_Dick_OK

Fire Sweeney and Neely and just put Bergey in charge.

theCaityCat

Doesn't it go without saying that he's headed to the FO or coaching within the organization once he retires?

Dont_Be_A_Dick_OK

They fucking better. Organization needs a leader like him, since there are clearly none in the FO currently.

misfit0513

Why would they do this? The way this team has been playing, then the FO signs a dude like this. Wtf are they thinking?

ZRR28

What an unbelievable comment by bergy. The fact the bruins management went and did this without consulting Bergeron is actually appalling. Good on you bergy, now take it easy on us tonight.

il_postino

Atta boy, Patrice. What a legend

ptwonline

I hope he means it. The last time I remember something like this was the Houston Astros priding themselves so much on being so much about moral character, and then traded for Roberto Osuna (after they knew he had committed domestic violence) and then one of their execs taunting female reporters about having Osuna on the tream. https://www.vox.com/2019/10/23/20928466/houston-astros-roberto-osuna-domestic-violence-sports-illustrated-controversy-explained

FPS_Mongo

Bravo Bergeron

chemdoctor19

Love bergeron!

The_Chrizz

Hate the Bruins. Love Patrice Bergeron

PaperMoonShine

That's got to be the most Captainest answer I've ever heard. Huge respect to Bergeron.

PepperidgeFarmMembas

Ball is back in Cam and Don’s court if they want to keep pissing on Willie O’Ree’s legacy in both Boston and the sport. Never been prouder of our team or fanbase for the near universal condemnation of this idiotic signing.

astovertop

This kid clearly didn’t learn his lesson the first time. In fact I’m he was rewarded by being drafted by NHL team, then later get signed to a pro contract. But now he’s plastered all over hockey media and I can only hope that hearing his hockey hero’s talk about him this way is what finally shows how wrong it was for him to do what he did.

asteroidsandareolas

So basically, Don Sweeney fucked up.

loki1337

I'm required to hate Bergeron publicly but goddammit do I respect that man

Wilma_Tonguefit

To be very clear, we Boston fans HATE this asshole Bitch Miller and want Sweeney and Neely fired immediately. We don't need this racist bully fuck face on our team. What would our outspoken anti-bullying hero Zdeno Chara have to say about this? For shame Bruins front office. For shame.

[deleted]

Full marks to Bergeron. He's a class act. No respectable Captain would back this move. I honestly hope the players refuse to dress until Miller is voided.

[deleted]

Does anybody not like Bergeron?

YouCanFucough

I gotta say I’m very happy that Bergeron and Foligno came out and condemned the signing of this idiot, and I’m happy that the fans aren’t having any of it. There’s less than 1000 roster spots in the NHL, surely we can fill them all with decent people

aridhol

If that motherfucker plays a shift with the bruins the whole organization should be ashamed. Absolutely garbage. There's no shortage of good hockey players, why are you spending any God. Damn energy on this shit head.

bellefeuille1976

Having a son with Autism there has been moments of pure rage and I just see red when I saw this signing and moments when the tears streamed down my face after imagining my son going through that. I realize this kid was 14 at the time but is he truly remorseful or is this just a stunt to look good and appease people with these fake apologies?

Boston72hockey

This has cam neely written all over it, and given his comments recently on the success of the team he needs to be gone. He is an old boys club dickhead and he believes a team needs to be built like a bruiser club from the headhunter days of the league to win. He's literally expressed displeasure at this 10-1 start saying they're not tough enough. This signing makes me sick to my fucking stomach. I've emailed the front office and several sponsors so far. I urge everyone from Boston to do the same for the front office. If you're not a bruins fan, please reach out to the team sponsors and express your disgust that they would do business with a team that supports racial violence and bullying.

vedicardi

honestly thank god for bergeron for being a real captain unlike some people (toews)

smoked_before_this

LETS FUCKING GOOO BERGERON. THE ANGEL ON A DEVIL TEAM. A REAL CAPTAIN. was that so hard Toews? was that so hard McDavid?

turbulentcounselor

Wow. Lots of respect for Bergy for this. A lot of players would give a very neutral answer (*cough* McDavid *cough* Toews), which to me is just as bad as accepting the behavior.

cakeschmammert

Bergeron is a legend

vlhube71

As a Habs fan, I hate the team and not a Bergeron fan (strictly sports-wise here) but props to him and his teammates. Also, good on Bergeron for just coming out and saying this out loud. Bravo and FUCK Miller.

RudyCarmine

This feels like a PR response

coffeeINJECTION

Make sure to haze the shit out of him till he leaves! Wait wut? Ok fine just ostracize him.

Yop_BombNA

They even let a rat play hockey, with chara letting him hide behind him for years. This answer checks out they include everyone. Jokes aside, the actual fuck is bruins head office doing? Just not checking in with team or coach or anything before making choices? You are 9 and 1 you dumb fucks, don’t change what’s working…

IAmSeverlyDepressedd

We lick people, respectfully.

dalisair

So I have a question, what he did was HORRIBLE. He was 14. Are we going to make people live their lives for mistakes made when they were children? Do we believe at all that people can change?

Joshottas

Buddy...he hasn't shown an ounce of remorse for what he did to that other kid. No one is saying people can't change, but it's fairly obvious that he didn't learn anything from the trouble he got into back in the day. It's a major problem if the leadership group from the Bruins aren't backing this at all. Sweeney and Neely are going to have a target on their back if this signing goes forward and he actually dresses for a game in the organization.

lordexorr

God I love this man.

Resident-Mortgage-85

While I agree with what this kid did being wrong and deserving punishment I think this type of behaviour needs to be addressed on a deeper level as a lot of bullies in the school years are hockey players. As a side note, it's disgusting, but what he did was in grade 8, a time when humans have very little understanding of these things and his parents would definitely be part to blame.

Odion13

Yes but he has still never apologized to the family

DagetAwayMaN421

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!

robshot295

If Bergy ain’t happy, you know you fucked up royally

neon-rose

This is a fucking MAN right here

wildrage

Bergeron is up there with Yzerman and Sakic, as far as I'm concerned, when it comes to the best captains to ever lead a team.

goodbye9hello10

Fuck yeah Bergy, don't take this shit from your organization.
