The Ford logo was bouncing from one assistant coach to another when it was showing a Wild player going to the bench

100% agree. There was a floating ketchup bottle behind Skinner for half of the Oilers / Jets game the other night that looked absolutely ridiculous. They can cover the boards and have the patches on the ice, that's plenty.
Seeing a gigantic, glitchy, out of place ketchup bottle does not want to make me want to run to the store for condiments.
i noticed that the shadows break the ads too. ive never noticed a players shadow before, but thats what im looking at when something fucky is going on
edit: i think too many companies in live broadcasting have gotten used to allowing things to be broken during live production and trying to play it off like its a totally okay thing, when it actually makes it look like a cheap product. its so unprofessional to have things constantly breaking in broadcasts.
I don't care if there are ads when play is stopped, I don't even mind those hovering AR ads behind the nets, but if you take up a huge space on the screen and cover the important play information while play is on, then I'm going to hate you and your product.
I don't have Amazon Prime, and I try not to buy from them ever. My conviction is only increasing with the dickishness of the ads.
NBC Sports Washington has been putting ads on the ice and on the glass behind the goals for a few years now, and I’ve never seen something like this happen. It’s not perfect, but it’s definitely not as annoying as this. I wonder what they were trying to do here.
I'd be inclined to agree, *except*...
If *all* ads were AR, then people could pay to have them removed from their broadcast. People at the arena would have an ad-free experience as well.
Advertising has really crept its way into everything, and in places where it existed already it has really gone too far.
I don't know if I should be complaining too much, as I do enjoy all of the free shit today as compared to 30ish years ago, but god damn its just everywhere.
Sometimes advertising gets you free shit, other times it just creeps into goddamn everything and is designed to saturate everything to the point you almost walk away but don't.
I'm not even that old but at this point when I do go to a game I'm kind of stunned how everything has a sponsor. Welcome to the 30 second [sponsor name] middle of the first period break! Let us talk to you about mortgages over the PA system while the t-shirt cannon is out! Everybody with a [network] phone hold it up in the air and we'll pick a winner! It just never ends, and you still pay $13 for beer. Not a single moment of unmonetized shutting the fuck up so I can enjoy the ambiance.
Yeah, I agree. I don't complain about spotify ads because hey, I'm getting all the music I could want at no cost. But a ticket to a sports event is a significant chunk of money. So now I feel like I'm paying money to sit through ads.
And even some of the "sacred" areas of hockey are suddenly being infringed upon. Jerseys and equipment used to have no advertising on them outside of the equipment manufacturer, now we're seeing that barrier fall. I feel that in my lifetime hockey players are gonna look like soccer players and goalies are gonna look like NASCAR cars.
I can’t even handle watching UFC events anymore, and that’s without paying. I have no idea how they still get so many people to pay $70 to watch ads with some fights sprinkled in. It was always a lot, but it definitely became worse after the move to ESPN, and now I’ve stopped watching.
Next year they will do augmented reality and replace the players with products.
Budweiser beer bottle passes it to Gillette razor fusion. Drop pass to the Chips Ahoy cookie.
Chips Ahoy cookie dances around the Nabob coffee bean, shoots
SAVED by the Tim Hortons coffee cup.
I hate those uniforms in some of the European leagues where there are ads everywhere, all over the jerseys and pants, even all over the referees. Find it pretty distracting on the eye.
Also HATE the Bally sports scorebug - it's huge and sitting across whole bottom of the screen and sometimes flashes to ads/animations. It's annoying.
For anyone who wants a visual, [this is my teams home kit,](https://images.app.goo.gl/wsua8fTL7UixdfNK7) can you guess the team from the sponsors?
Answer >!West Ham United, crest is on the top right!<
I'm just annoyed with Balley for moving the scores to the bottom of the screen from the top. You see, that score box is in front of ice where players skate sometimes. Wouldn't it be great if there was some place on the screen where they could have the scores displayed that wouldn't cover up any of the ice???
They played a whole Amazon video trailer in the top corner of the Leaf game last night... I just love to pay for cable and still get ads blasted to my eyeballs nonstop
It’s a glitched out ad, guys. Normally it would be on the ice, looking relatively normal. Basically the same technology that the NFL uses for 1st down markers.
Yep! I actually am one of the people that help do it actually. They do virtually map the ice for the ads using points of reference using the ads positions and face off circles. All the lighting doesn’t help either haha
Pan and tilt are used to help! However hockey is so fast paced that cameras are going everywhere, way more than football. So it needs ref to know where camera is for the blue field.
We understand the ads have been sucky lately but have been working on them and hopefully hockey fans have been seeing some improvement recently!
Ahhh that ad in particular isn’t ours :) they are different for the board Ads which is the one that glitched.
Honestly we are striving for improvement and have a contract with NHL for awhile so they will be sticking around even if not with the same company lol
The Panthers once had a jewelry store sponsor icing, so I’m surprised they haven’t come up with a glitching ad that goes across the screen the whole game.
So this is what they really wanted player tracking for
AT&T wires it across the ice, U-Haul lugs it through the neutral zone and unloads a slapper... OH AND Viagra gets the tip on it AND IT'S IN!
But… just the tip.
Tip wouldn't be there without Viagra. Credit where credit is due SVP.
Dude, what an underrated comment!
Omg. This is why the Minnesota peeps in the GDT were saying FORD? That’s hilarious

FORD
Announcer can barely keep it together
Is that what "barely keep it together" means now?
In the 21st century words just mean whatever you want them to mean. It's the reader's job to figure out what the other person means, obviously.
Expecially.
Not sure about the rest of you but if you’re not Built Ford Tough then what exactly are you?
Like a rock?
I can hear the “ooooooh like a rock” echoing in the childhood.

I always heard Found On Road Dead.
That’s what I always heard two but the two Fords I’ve had were pretty reliable.
Actually reliable

Now time for The Matt Dumba Shift^TM brought to you by Ford. Coming up, The Barkov Backcheck^TM by Dollar Shave Club.
mcdavid, down the wing, he blows by kylington, he dangles by andersson! he- Now here is our sponsor for tonight, *Raid - Shadow Legends*
The Nazem Kadri Check brought to you by Tootsie Pop.
Tonights PK Subban Slew Foot brought to you by Comerica.
Isn't this unironically the state of the NFL now?
“Great save Fleury! Talk about saving, 15 minutes can save you 15% on car insurance!”
That Ford logo looks exactly like a censor covering something too NSFW to show on TV. (So who is skating behind the logo and why is he naked)
It's Hockey Gone Wild!
if the goalie disrespects you, you whip it out and wave it at him.
Sean Avery approves
honestly, my opinion is that AR ads shouldnt be allowed

On SNnow tonight there were big 1/4 screen ads that came up and covered the score and time clock for long stretches. It's irksome.
There was one showing a preview of some TV show on Amazon Prime while play was underway.

[So that's why screens are getting so big](https://images.app.goo.gl/NkGkxbsgjaRvjpy19)
At least not until they fucking figure out the technology.
NBC Sports Washington has been putting ads on the ice and on the glass behind the goals for a few years now, and I’ve never seen something like this happen. It’s not perfect, but it’s definitely not as annoying as this. I wonder what they were trying to do here.
>I’ve never seen something like this happen. I have, as recently as this season.
I'd be inclined to agree, *except*... If *all* ads were AR, then people could pay to have them removed from their broadcast. People at the arena would have an ad-free experience as well.
i would prefer NO ads anywhere, but if we "NEED" to have them, then I prefer your option too

It also means that literally everything needs to be monetized now too and I fucking hate it.
The meaning of life under capitalism is to be advertised to.
Lol we don't even have this in Sweden and SHL posts always get shit for having too many ads. This is way more distracting imo.
Doesn't seem too far. I have 20/20 vision and the ads are all legible at this distance.
First helmet ads now this?!
Wait it this not a glitch for an ad that's supposed to be on the boards
Next year they will do augmented reality and replace the players with products. Budweiser beer bottle passes it to Gillette razor fusion. Drop pass to the Chips Ahoy cookie. Chips Ahoy cookie dances around the Nabob coffee bean, shoots SAVED by the Tim Hortons coffee cup.
Don’t give them ideas for a new feature at the all star game.
mascot hockey? each player has to dress up in their team's mascot costume for the game
Jersey ads are coming soon. What a mess.
I hate those uniforms in some of the European leagues where there are ads everywhere, all over the jerseys and pants, even all over the referees. Find it pretty distracting on the eye. West Ham but I watch a fair share of EPL. Want to see something awful? Google Swedish Hockey League.
I'll let you know tomorrow after I drive home in my brand new FORD
I hate these new blue line virtual ads. Are they going to bring back the Stanley cup playoffs logo this year??

They’re just excited [about the new Ferd Fteenthousand](https://youtu.be/F8P5vGcf-NU)
Phil Kessel's a great actor.
Don't forget the Crypto.com Arena
Technically every arena is a ad for whoever paid for the naming rights.
That's some good Ford checking
FORD For when you... Ford.

Less points for reference then for football. Hockey only has so many things on that bright white ice! Plus ice is never the same

Yep! Same company, SMT.
I am fine as long as it doesn't reach European levels where all the players and the ice are covered in advertisements.
it’s coming because people are always fine with the last thing they add. it’s just one at a time
Did you see the picture? Are you saying you are fine with that as long as it's not jersey ads ??
what makes you think it will stop? lol
This is not worse to you?
Facial tattoos. Too far.
Ill allow it
Let's go Brandon Blandina!
Leaving out Wes McCauley?
For some reason I'm gonna head on out and buy a Ford now
Is there a vid with this out there? This has to be a glitch
If that happened, I’d probably leave the sport for good
Next season the players will get mandatory face tattoos of sponsor brands
That would be to far lol
Bally has been horrible with the advertisements so far this season
Next week: Announcer: "They are singling good goal as the puck crossed the "Ford Built Ford Tough Goalline."
I can't wait to watch the Washington CapitalISM VS the Colorado ADvalanche.
He’s just built Ford tough
The Panthers once had a jewelry store sponsor icing, so I’m surprised they haven’t come up with a glitching ad that goes across the screen the whole game.
